  • Hola Victor,

excelente todo tu aporte.. me podrias decir que programa usas o si me aconsejas alguno para las pistas de acompañamiento..

    Hello Victor,

excellent all your input .. can you tell me what program you use or if you advise me some backing tracks for ..

thank you very much .. from Uruguay. Guiligan

  • @elguiliganaique Dear Guilligan, I got some blues backing tracks from a pupil who bought them from Blues backing tracks Site, a good investment would be to purchase B.I.B.(band in a box) check it out on internet, greetings Vic.

  • Sweet . So Enjoyed this Thanks! Peace 2 All!

  • @menopausalguitarist May my strings vibrate in your Soul,Vic.

  • great! the place where blues, jazz and rock seamlessly meet!

  • @rgrschrly Good description cause that's totally my intention, greetings Vic.

  • @rgrschrly like

  • what king of pickup have you got on this guitar, please ?? Thanks. Sorry for my english i'm french. Best regards

  • @oettgti16s Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction, I'm using 2 single coil Alnico Pro (neck +middle) and Seth Lover humbucker in Bridge position, all pick-ups by Seymour Duncan, greetings Vic.

  • @Jazzguts : ok merci !!! ;-)

  • super son et beau jeu, super !!!! Great sound (in english). Bravo.

  • geweldig vic een plezier om te luisteren

Man God bless you with talent

  • Bro. This is excellent. Inspiring. Thank you for this, vic.

  • @MikeTheGuy00 Thank you and long live the Blues,Vic.

  • very goodddddd

  • I showed my 17 yr. old son your beautiful finger style on the BEATLES etc. He flipped! Then his mind was more simpatico to JAZZ .Rock Heads, what are they going to do with us!You make MUSIC my FRIEND. IT's such a JOY !

  • @harryolefox Thanks Harry, I play from the Inside out (like we say in Zen) ofcourse I've absorbed many influences, but indeed the Love and Joy of Music should always be there. I hope many will enjoy my Stuff, greetings Vic.

  • You made my day. Keep the SPIRIT. I LOVE your STYLE ! Great choices of material. The videos are just right.Nice and clean .ROCK ON from beautiful GARY,IN.

  • @Pisest Thank you Gary, you made mine too, here on YT many tend to take everything for granted. Let's say they'll start missing the water when the well runs dry.Vic.

  • Ain't he a breath of FRESH AIR.

  • @harryolefox That's a great compliment my friend, all I can say is: My aim is for the Music to flow through me,greetings Vic.

  • Vic, I always enjoy listening to your play. Your sound is always very clean and crisp and the intonation on all of your guitars is so awesome.... I've heard some very good players on here that could use a setup done on there guitars but this is never and issue with your videos. Very nice, and keep pickin

  • @adrenalsky Thank you very much for your kind words, indeed I teach my students to do intonation settings on their instruments it's part of the guitar maintainability repertoire, I know some chaps who just enter and start playing with an un-tuned instrument, right away I see there's no love for Music there, cheers Vic.

  • Hi Vic,

    really cool !

    Steph.

  • @Tsutsomu Thanks brother,the Blues-Root of all Evil,lol,Vic.

  • jimijames1970, it's like you describe, I love both styles Jazz and Blues very much, I've been playing them separately for a while but now this style is evolving in a happy marriage,I'm very content with it,greets Vic.

  • actually, it was just before that and was some sort of arpeggio-like run around the 12th fret

I really enjoy your artistry across all the spectrums

  • Thanks, dle777, I'm sweep-picking a C13 over a F79+, if you know the theory off "Tritone substitution" you'll grasp this Idea else it might sound rather abstract to you, anyway I love combining altered playing in Blues it adds vitality and color, Vic.

  • the section ~ 1:00 is really sweet...what the hell was it? your playing is terrfic

  • die 777,thanks well that bended note you're referring too is just a Bluesy thing in B minor pentatonic. The thing is to make convincing statements with feeling, that's what the Blues is all about, greets Vic.

  • How lovely to take some time out and stop by to watch this wonderful video Vic! I don't think I have been receiving any of your shares lately! :0) 5 stars is never enough to send you for your performances! I hope you are well! Love, Tamara xx

  • Thanks so much Tamara, it's strange that you don't receive my shares lately,I do send them around but maybe YT limits them in some way,I wouldn't know, anyway I'm glad you liked my Blues, big hug for you,Vic.

  • excellent phrasing :)

  • Thanks deadeonzx, glad you liked it,Vic. :)

  • i love this.great playing and sounds great.peace, love, mary, very good vic.

  • Thanks mary, glad you joined here in the party, cheers Vic.

  • Nice sound Vic.

That looks like one sweet neck on the strat.

Any advice on finding good replacement necks for fenders in Europe without having to get them from USA and paying way over the odds?

I am putting together a custom thinline tele.

  • Thanks brettwr, that's a difficult question,I know some customize rs like Piet Visser make great necks (he made this one) What I like is the Palsander wood which gives the tone a warmer quality than the regular maple necks.Maybe you can contact a few good customizers.Vic.

  • Beautifully done!

  • Thanks larry glad you liked it,Vic.

  • Some sweet and tasty blues there, Vic. Great way to start my day. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks, Lance I feel honored,you're a mighty good listener,Vic.

  • Why did you stop filming at the end? It was going somewhere else entirely. That's no way to treat your fans. :•D

I loved the fake fade-in effect on the bent note at 1.05.

  • Ha ha, that's a good one Pablo, leave the people wanting for more is better than overplaying, a Zen thought Amigo, like a well prepared meal, enough so you wont go hungry,Lol,Vic.

  • Heerlijke improvisatie Vic!!!

    Jazz meets BB King!

    Henk

  • Dank je Henk, nog steeds lekker aan Bluesen? Hopelijk alles goed met je. Leuke statement, Jazz meets BB King.

The Blues blijft zo'n fantastische stijl, juist omdat er zoveel mee kan. groet Vic.

  • Yes, my friend, really a joy to listen to this great performance. Great music, Vic. It is really so relaxing, listening to this, my friend!

    Roeleke

  • Thanks Roeleke, I was glad how this one came out, I was strongly thinking on the spacing between the notes, not cranking everything full but space to breath letting the feeling out,Vic.

  • #64 - Most Subscribed (All Time) - Musicians - Netherlands Congrats.

Your sound and playing is smooth.

    ~CHEERS~

    B.Champagne

  • Thanks blc25crpkr that's a great statement which I'm very happy with, Vic.

  • Those jazzy licks are perfect for this tune!!

  • Thanks OscarPFan, yeah those in combination with a down to earth Blues-feel that's my thing, Vic.

  • Thanks for another interesting song.. Everyone seems to hear and play the same thing ---- DIFFERENTLY... So many interesting licks, and neat phrasing , that I never imagined coming out of this song...((((((((@))========%%%

  • Thanks boneyroney, that's the thing with improvisation, everyone can put in his own imagination and that's the interesting thing, sounding different every time,Vic.

  • You're proving me right, Jazz, blues, sould and R&B, funk. They're all jazz. You prove it everytime. Thanks for the constant inspiration man.Mikey Z

  • Thanks Mike for your enthusiastic reaction, they're all styles in which their is space for personal expression,Vic.

  • Awesome music and playing! :)

  • Thanks Karen glad you liked it,Vic.

  • Feeling.

  • sockenfrank, that's what it's all about and the Blues makes you dig deep, Vic.

  • #12 - Most Discussed (Today)) - Netherlands

Well this may be The Thrill is Gone, but, for me, this

means 'The Thrill' is back! So wonderful to see and hear you in top form! I hope Curacao was a delight, other than internet -- or maybe the lack of speedy internet was a further delight for a bit!

Welcome home, O Guru of Cool. I think when

you are there it is known as Gurucao! hugs ~T

  • Thanks Terry, for your awesome words, in Curacao I didn't play at all, just drove around with my brother in law and absorbed the Roots of my childhood (once more). And those 2 weeks did me good,I didn't really miss (fast) Internet, getting away from guitar for a while is great therapy ,seeing all in another perspective. Gurucao is on the map,I created it,lol, hug Vic.

  • From the beginning i realised a master playing!!Cool 5/5!

  • Thanks Space for your great compliment, I see myself still as a student ever learning,Vic.

  • Hello Vic, very nice interpretation!

I wish you a beautiful weekend!

All the best my friend, Rosy

  • Thanks Roselyne18, for your ears and listening session,a good weekend to you,Vic.

  • Victor,

Great playing as always. I thought I noted more of a feeling of "freeness" in your improvisation, more so than usual. The notes just came off as flowing out of you in a more free style and more "right now" feeling. I can't explain it better than that. You mentioned Eelco Gelling, I remember him doing a tune with Golden Earring called Bad Love Coming or something like that, killer guitar licks!

    Great work.

    Rich

  • Thanks Rich, I've been experimenting with mixing elementary Blues Stuff with Jazz licks, somehow this direction seems very attractive to me, it's like both styles are feeding eachother in a positive sense,I guess that's what you're hearing here,a very happy marriage indeed, and as for Eelco Gelling,I'll always have him in my Heart,a great Blues man, Vic.

  • Nice job Vic.

  • Thanks Dorian, free jamming oh how I love that, but of course with sense of responsibility,Vic.

  • Hey Vic! Great blues. Nice mix of styles.

    - Ben

  • You heard it Ben,thanks a lot,Vic.

  • Hey Vic! Great, as always. I enjoyed your take on what is an old favorite of mine.

    Fri

  • Thanks Fri, this remains a great Blues tune indeed a Classical but every impro should be fresh as the morning sun,Vic.

  • A peaceful and reflective moment for me this morning. Thanks

  • Thanks Paul, I like that word "reflective" because that's what this Music is about, Vic.

  • Fantastic as always! Your taste in choises of note it's always unbelieveble.. great job!

  • Thanks Eggthebox, guess I developed that quality over the years combining theory with lot's of listening to other players, in fact I once read the following statement: The worst thing a musician can do is: not listen, cheers Vic.

  • Woww , We missed you :)

  • Thanks brother, sometimes I feel like playing for a while before recording,it deepens my expression all this jamming and trying out fresh new Ideas, you're a fine player, cheers Vic.

  • @LONGWINDING

Hey, Frank! Bist du da? Deine Kanäle werden als geschlossen gemeldet... Liebe Grüsse, Jogi

  • if midi/game guitar ever got serious they would come out with a jazzguts version.

  • Ha ha Frets200,I'll probably have to wait another lifetime before that happens,I don't care thought,in these games guitar playing has been reduced to something pure physical, the one who presses the knobs the fastest is the winner. Vic.

  • I don't even know what to say this is so good. Straight to my favorites. WOW

    Pamela

  • Thanks Pam, I feel honored by your enthusiastic comment, cheers Vic.

  • nice!

  • Gtr thanks always welcome.

  • Awsome sound Vic ! The thrill aint gone , just having a sabbatical in you`re finger`s... lol ... Love the jazz influences you bring to you`re peices ....Epic ..in my humble opinion! Ben.

  • Thanks Ben, I love the mix of Jazz and Blues,it's always been a great marriage,it's like the Jazz feeds the Blues and visa versa, Vic.

  • Thanks Soul-brother, we speak the same language,I'm always trilled with your response cause I know this well meant and from a great Musician, respect man and thanks for your ears,Vic.

  • Vic That was very TRILLING to hear ! LOL : ) Love that Robben Ford influence and those sweet interval jumps and some Larry Carlton melodic arpeggios

  • Thanks so much Ken,you're hearing it all brother, I thought Frank's statement was nice: Walking the fine line between Jazz and Blues, for me the Blues is deep Soul Music. Those guys you mention are the CATS in Blues cause they mix it with Jazz,I love Shuggie Otis too, great Blues man,Vic.

  • I remember when Shuggie first came out at 14 years old.. WOW!!

  • I have many recordings from that period and I think they still sound good especially the solid timing and Spirit that he put in the Music.

  • Vic So sad !! Vic.. It is cool reading the comments people write to you.. You have many Fans !! : )) Awesome ..

  • Yes Ken it's Heart warming all these wonderful People, who keep returning to listen to me play, it's a great responsibility. Cheers Vic

  • I remember also when I got to hear Stevie Ray play as an opening act for Greg Allman's band.. I got as close as possible.. It was an open rodeo ground and I just stood there amazed at this guy who had his hat tilled and was Jammin' on that guitar !!

  • Ken, you saw more than me, here in Holland I was glad to see the Allman's with Dicky Betts (Duane wasn't there any more) and Dicky played wonderful with great time and sound, anyway I'm glad we have all those Video's of SRV here on YT.

  • Great memories .Vic... Did you ever see Clapton play back then ??

  • Unfortunately no, but in later days ofcourse I did,did you ever heard of Eelco Gelling (Cuby&Blizzards) great Dutch Blues and that guy blew my brain in those days, later he became an addict which is a great pity.

  • I never got to see either Duane or Dicky Betts play..That would have been FUN !! I did see Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer play in the same band.. That was COOL !
