However, I am arguing against the fact you're implying it takes little or no skill to produce something like this. I produce techno myself and I can tell you it takes a long time to reach the level of prodcution skill dubfire has. If you produced something like you just described and played it on a large, decent system, compared with something dubfire produced, it would sound laughably weak.

I used to like minimal, but now it seems that you have to constantly justify minimalistic music to like it with conversation as opposed to just dancing. So, honestly, I use this kind of music to read and study to now - which I don't think is what it is intended for.
