Well, I like this camera. It's cheap, and in HD. I agree, the Flip HD (I have the mino) has better quality, but way to expensive for my budget. The Flip is good for on the go 10 to 30 second videos, but this camera is good for home movies, which I need a camera for. ;D My opinion. (By the way, My Mino broke. -.-)
No I don't use the software that came with the video. I edit videos using Adobe Premiere CS3. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "how do you get it in full screen"?
Im having the same problem, DXG 581v, or the sony HD Webbie... i cant find the webbie anywhere anymore, its all out. And since the DXG 581v seems to do better than the webbie and cheeper, i cant turn to anything else. But im unsure because this is the first time ive ever heard of DXG, and im unaware of there history. idk if this camrea will have alot of problems or not
I'm in the exact same situation. Wasn't sure if I wanted this or the sony webbie hd mhs cm1. This one seems a lot more crisp and it's compatible with my fish eye and other lenses so I think I'm getting this one.
No it really has to do with the camera he should of returned it and gotten a replacement because when it has a high pitch noise its defective. I've gotten one of those and gotten it replaced and no noise
It's not a problem with the camera. You have to update the firmware of the camera if you want the sound to not mute when zooming. I didn't upgrade the firmware though because the zoom motors are loud and I don't use the camera mic for audio anyway.
looks like a put a filter over the video it looks like a movie meaning it dosnt look live. even if u have a 480p cam u can make it convert it to youtube HD but damn good camera dude !!
If your framerate is slowing down while watching HD videos, try letting the video load entirely before watching; that usually works for me if you're patient enough.
yes, the max resolution that youtube currently supports is 720p. Though as technology advances, youtube is moving closer and closer to supporting much higher resolutions.
man something's wrong with my mozilla or something cuz i cant see or push the HQ button for ANY video ( reply to me please and tell me WTF is up with that !! :)
A few quick questions, what SD card are you using? Many people such as myself expereince this odd clicking noise with certain sd cards and I dont hear it in this one. Second, how loud is your zoom motor? On mine it sounds very very loud...
I disagree. Both cameras when zoomed all the way out look pretty much the same however when zoomed in the DXG destroys the Flip HD. Heres the reason why. The Flip HD has no optical zoom. Which means that if you try to zoom in with the 2x digital zoom on the Flip HD it crop's your image which in turn is pixelated and looks horrible where as the DXG that I have has 5x optical zoom meaning that when zoomed the video quality has the same clarity and overall look as if it wasn't zoomed in at all.
Yeah the sound does cut out when zooming. There is a firmware upgrade though that fixes that but since I record my audio with studio mics and sync up the audio and video the problem doesn't bother me much.
I record using a Fast Track Ultra audio interface into Logic Pro for mixing the audio, and then I use Premiere Pro CS3 to sync up the audio and video.
I've been really impressed with the performance out of this little camera (595v). Did you run the firmware upgrade? And if so did it make any difference as far as the "in and out" seeking the camera does when it is sitting fixed on a tripod?
Yeah the camera is great. I'm very satisfied with the video it takes. I haven't yet ran the firmware upgrade, but from what I've heard the firmware only fixes the the problem with the sound cutting out when you zoom in or out. The seeking it does is from the autofocus.
lol yeh son, my 42 inch lcd, that serves only as a computer monitor. dont get me started on my 120 inch in my theatre room. HD Projector son. You got nothin.
lol, you must be jealous or somethin. and if your advice to me is dont try and be cool., my advice to you is "TRY to be cool, cuz judging by your channel youre a lame ass mother fucker. Runescape? Seriously? that's as lame as it gets isn't it? Thanks for the compliment in the mean time.
Question- If I upload a 1280x720 video in HD and a 1920x1080 video in HD, which one will look better? (which one will look better when u watch them in HD)
I uploaded this video clip straight from the camera in 1920x1080 and Youtube apparently downsizes it to 1280x720. So they will probably both look pretty close to the same.
The camcorder is actually very affordable. The total was under $200 US. I can send you a link to it if you'd like. I'm really impressed with this camcorder. It's not great in low light but no HD camcorder in this price range is good in low light. All of the outdoor footage I've taken has came out great and in good lighting indoor footage comes out well too. Check out the most recent videos on my other channel here on Youtube called Limitless Studios for some indoor footage with decent lighting.

Well, besides video quality, you also have to consider the fact that Webbie MHS-CM1's are refurbished, while the DXG 595V's are new

All you need to do to get rid of the muting when you zoom is update the firmware.
willythetomato 2 years ago
Why does the sound mute completely when you are zooming in?
niteflash06 2 years ago
I think it's because the Noise would be too loud for the video to cope with so it just quietens out while it's moving

In all the HD clips I've seen with this camera the video is choppy. Does it play back like that in the camera, pc, and TV or is it just youtube?
zondervan123 2 years ago
It's Youtube's HD. All HD videos on Youtube playback choppy. The actual exported HD video is much smoother.
