Tom Baker is my favorite Dr Who . I grew up watching these in the 70s / early 80s on BBC TV here in UK ( where I believe they were originally done live ). I loved / enjoyed all the Doctors but Tom Baker was the best for me. Tom Baker himself loved doing this / being Dr Who & said the seven years he was doing it was the best time of his life . I think this comes across in his Doctor. One of the best episodes ( and not so well known / everyones favorite ) was Image of the Fendahl - check it out !

Other than City of Death (which I thought was lame) I agree with you on pretty much all these you bought up. My favorites Brain of Morbius, though, love the old school horror style and Robots of Death. Weng Chiang was way overrated. But if you don't have Brain of Morbius get that, shit was tight.

@pnub47 Wow! every Tom Baker episode :>), I've got half my Tom baker collection on VHS, the rest on DVD, all the Tom Baker DVD's are not all released in my country yet, I'm waiting for Seeds of Doom to be released?, I have it on VHS & it's my Favorite DW story ever, Horror of Fang Rock is way over-hyped, I'm still waiting for a UK release of Key to Time..........Great collection man***** :)

Actually Talons of Weng Chiang is one of my favorites... and a fan favorite on the top ten list by Doctor Who magazine... I believe it ranked number three or four. One of the better shows as it displays how well the BBC can capture the VIctorian era. Plus a great villian who lashes over the Doctor in an interesting debate over moral grounds while playing a game of chess.

Interesting note: Tom Baker's era has never overly relied on old history or old villains. One of the many reasons why I liked this particular period. The new Matt Smith shows I liked because he's bringing back the alien quality missing for so long since the Tom Baker days.

I think you need to watchThe Talons of Weng-Chiang again.

For me it is the second best Dr Who episode, the best beeing Genesis Of The Daleks but i guess its what you like for yourself in the Dr Who series.

On the subject of your question "why does Leela's eyes change colour?", it happens in 'Horror of Fang Rock' towards the end when she gets blinded. Her pigment changes. My personal fav Tom Bakers: 'Genesis of the Daleks', 'Seeds of Doom', 'Terror of the Zygons', 'The Sunmakers', 'Talons of Weng Chiang', City of Death'. I bought the available one's on DVD tho inc the KTT box set. I am a nerd.

My Tom baker eps fave is city of death only reason I think that is cause it was the first of his I saw plus it was written by Douglas Adams oh Hitchhiker galaxy fame, and I really liked how that show was written. I am acquiring all the 3rd doctor episodes soon so you can yell at me soon about downloading all those ;)

and boxsets and my newst one is the deadly asssassin its a good tom abker story  good review and all of the dvds in wales arnt out yet the one i want to get is the revange of the cybermen thats my one

thanks yah the only way to get most of those doctor whos are to get them from over seas. Right now Im trying to get all the 3rd doctors episodes his seem like they are a little more hard to find then tom bakers though.
