Seth must be a big Leslie fan because there's been numerous references to him on the show. For example, there's an episode where someone in the crowd shouts "It's Enrico Palazzo!" and I'm pretty sure there's an episode where everyone starts slapping a person like in Airplane!. It's funny because McFarlane is the only person I've ever seen parody the master of parody.

Oh wow how long did it take for you to make that connection? I bet it took a ton of research......It's called a callback. Which is common in comedy. Waynes world does it alot. As does Austin Powers. And i think Austin Powers does a callback to Waynes world. Nevertheless a call back is a joke which refers to a joke previously told in a comedy set/movie/sketch. Go watch the movie if you don't believe me. Simon Rex wasn't even in Scary Movie 4 (except for a short cameo) and he is in this clip here. I actually am surprised that IMDb would let that error get through.

It's unfair to group all the modern parodies as "the 'movie' series."

Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie were made by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (and most people agree say those are horrible).

But Scary Movie 3 and 4, and Superhero Movie, were made by David Zucker - the same guy who also made Airplane! and Naked Gun. I find all of Zucker's films to range anywhere from enjoyable to hilarious.

Yes, Leslie Nielsen played both Dr. Rumack AND President Harris. He was 54 when Airplane! came out, and he was 77 when he repeated the line in Scary Movie 3, 23 years later.

Same director, too. (Well, sort of: Airplane! was directed by 3 men, and one of them directed Scary Movie 3. Leslie and director David Zucker have worked together many times.)
