His character was as a soft spoken man. Like the saying..."walk softly and carry a big stick". He didn't go blabbing like most people, but if you crossed him....you be dead.
I don't think I could possibly be more interested listening to this man tell his story, just great, it ties so many things about the show together--greatly appreciated.
Who said the "good die young"? This man is a true gentleman. We were all watching Mr. Dillion back then, and it seems we are watching him now. Thanks for the memories Mr. Arness.
Right when he said, "Snow Train." I was like, That's my favorite too! Funny how Curtis was on the show earlier playing different characters until Festus was formed as a cast member and he got the part.
There are only a few episodes on DVD. There were over 650 shows over the years and only about three dozen are on DVD and not that many more are even on TV.
thank you for posting the interviews. I remember when I was younger. Every Sat. night we would gather at my Aunt's house. My Father would join after work. My Aunt would make snacks for us to have while we watched GS. I still watch all the reruns today 2008. We never get tired of watching. Times were hard in those days, yet so simple and honest.Simple as no utilities to worry about paying. Only had to worry about food and shelter.
By golly sounds good.

One of the most under rated actors ever. His work in Gunsmoke and How The West Was Won is spectacular. God Bless you Mr. Arness.

It is so refreshing to see an
interviewer who go to exhaustive
and in depth 'interrogation'
and to see and hear the integrity
of Mr. Arness.
