That Patent is different and later than the tower he nearly built.

The tower had a deep excavation underneath it with metal poles radiating out at the bottom...why did he change those ideas in this patent ?

the earth as a conducting wire is better than regular radio waves, it would still seem to be wireless because the wave energy would still extend above the earth but the earth makes a better conductor than sending out straight em waves, the tesla waves are able to follow the curves of the earth allowing it to be given equally over the earth and at about 95percent efficientcy world wide!when he first began he felt the atmosphere could be used but found the earth itself is an even better conductor

Nice job you do by explaining the Tesla patents.

On the Wardencliff Tesla used a tirth extra coil. By using a secondary and extra coil he made the resonance less sensible to varying loads.

yes you are right! the extra coil allowed additional free resonant vibrations to happen, allowing a even more massive high voltage to occur at the terminal, this patent does show this. i was thinking of trying this once i prove the coil system that i have posted recently,

So is that something that can get dangerous? 1,000,000 volts traveling through the air. I've been shocked with 110 and it doesn't feel so nice. So I would think that he was trying to come up with a safe way to transfer the energy.

Well people say that his idea for Wireless transmission would never work because the tesla coils we make today are built simply to "show off", for the big sparks.

I did some reading and Tesla's early coils were described as Disruptive coils, they were inefficient and noisy. His later designs focussed on limiting the losses. Most people who replicate the coil build the disruptive type.

This is Tesla's three coil design. The coil under the pipe is the 'extra coil'. I think this acts like a choke and gets an opposite polarity of the secondary. If you combine this with the radiant energy patents, you might believe that the toroid is receiving ambient energy. So if you make omega*L/R equal on all three coils, energy is received by the top electrode, goes through the extra and secondary coils, which causes the primary to resonate. That so called generator really is a capacitor.

LOL - discharges are inefficient...to say the least. They are also defeating the entire purpose. Think of the name...DIS-Charging. They "uncharge" all the energy you just built up. It is the same concept as the spark gaps. If electricity jumps through air from one conductor to another, it is loosing energy to discharge. How much more so when a energy jumps out to...nothing. It discharges into the atmosphere. Lotsa pointless Tesla Coils on Youtube. Resonance is key. "Tuned" transformers.

its actually incredible how much energy is wasted. the one wire test i did with just the spark gap was .5 volts. once i "fixed" the wastage the energy being recieved was at about 100- 150 volts transmission.
