There are SO many ways to make bathing a cat easier! Start when they're young and do it once a month; they get used to it, then no big deal. Use a kitchen sink or a tub, not a bucket! Use warm water, about the same temp as your own bath. Fill the sink or tub (shoulder high to cat), THEN go get the cat. Start by GENTLY washing the face; don't get shampoo near eyes, nose or mouth. Then wash the rest, start at the top of the head and work front to back. Dry with blowdryer. Not that friggin hard!

If a cat has fleas starting on the back with soap pushes the fleas to the rear and the front- which is the face. I made that mistake once, fleas all over our new kittens eyes and all.
First of all, the tub that you used to wash your cat is waaaaaaaay too small..that would be good to use for a kitten, not a full sized cat....I would have filled the tub up to 4 inches...

I have a new kitten and Ive only just out it has a few or I caught one between my finger nails and got rid of it. I was sure there was more and only this evening while playing with my black kitten Sooty, he bit you, because he doesnt like it one bit LOL.
xD Actually...I found a method of de-fleaing a cat that doesn't bother them -NEARLY- as much as bathing them. If you go to the vet and ask for it, they'll give you this stuff that comes in a tube that you put on the back of their neck and it kills the fleas just from there. It took under a week to get rid of 'em and both my cats didn't hate me any more for it than they do on a normal day. xD
But that's such a cute kitty...And it's so cute to annoy them...

I found no water in the bathtub is best, Just the hand held sprayer set on gentle. I also have leather protective wear for me. That way he can bite and scratch and I can still get the job done.
Shadow, our other cat, a midnight black with blue eyes, took his own bath once. I was in a full tub. Shadow came into the bathroom and hopped up onto the outside rim, which was wide. He thought he'd trot around to the back side but that side's edge was only 1/2 in. wide. KERSPLASH! I was lucky I didn't need stitches! And Shadow was VERY unhappy.
Shadow was a very odd and funny cat. If we turned off all the lights to go to bed and he was in the living room, left in the dark, he'd freeze and shiver and cry like a baby...until we went and got him and brought him to our bedroom! What a chicken shit! He was a very pretty cat though.
When Shadow would get "lost" in the dark & cry for help, our other cat, Agatha, would lay on the comforter on our bed and I SWEAR she'd GRIN! It was if she were smuggly saying, "Stupid cat!"
I used to have a LARGE white angora, Agatha. What a character! She would sit on top of the refridgerator, could open the kitchen door by the knob, brought us live mice & used our toilet AND would flush it! My wife TRIED to give her a bath ONCE in a full tub. It was so funny I was rolling on the floor. Someone stole Agatha.
Agatha was probably too friendly for her own good.
She was really a very beautiful cat. She looked just like the white angora on the old FANCY FEASTS commercials. You know, the one with the rhinestone collar eating out of a stemmed crystal desert dish?
She wasn't gone long before we had a big neighborhood search gloing on. We never found a corpse.
I did, but he was an outdoor cat and kept bringing those fleas indoors! Actually, he wasn't as stressed out as he looked in the video. Had he been scared, I would have been totally torn apart rather than a little bite.

Unfortunately for the owner and more importantly the cat, this does not work. You have to deal with the source of the fleas eg where they are breeding. You need to vacuum your carpets regularly and flea spray them, plus any favourite spots that the cat sleeps. Flea collars and bathing them is just dealing with the after affects. If you really insist on bathing the cat use the shower head, its quicker for you and the cat.
Nobody could be that clueless about washing a cat. An absolute moron!. Might help in future to run the water and what's with the stupid tiny tub - the cat's way too big for it.
I bath my Persian once in a while he loves it I put him in the beeday thing and make sure the water is run before he even gets put near it then I use a jug of warm water from the sink. He loves it over his back! I keep it away from his face but he sits there loving it! Bless!!! ^_^

i like how cats can turn their back legs to try to push off the human. lol the cat was like please don't put me in there. at least he did not cry. Mine screams so loud you could end up having the neighbors call and complain.

LOL. I laughed so hard watching her trying to put that cat in the tiny tub. I usually just fill the entire tub. The commentary she made was funny too and the cat was just like "...".

I found no water in the bathtub is best, Just the hand held sprayer set on gentle. I also have leather protective wear for me. That way he can bite and scratch and I can still get the job done.

You have more patience for rudeness than I - kudos!
For those attempting to wash kitties:
1) Prep the water first, Then spring it on the feline
2) Have everything w/in hand's reach
3) Grab kitty by the nape of the neck firmly But to where the cat is comfortable. You're establishing control not trying to hurt
3a) kitty attempts to move, it becomes uncomfortable and moves back to comfy position - makes bath time So much easier!
4) Use a cup to rinse instead of running water

Shadow, our other cat, a midnight black with blue eyes, took his own bath once. I was in a full tub. Shadow came into the bathroom and hopped up onto the outside rim, which was wide. He thought he'd trot around to the back side but that side's edge was only 1/2 in. wide. KERSPLASH! I was lucky I didn't need stitches! And Shadow was VERY unhappy.

Shadow was a very odd and funny cat. If we turned off all the lights to go to bed and he was in the living room, left in the dark, he'd freeze and shiver and cry like a baby...until we went and got him and brought him to our bedroom! What a chicken shit! He was a very pretty cat though.

When Shadow would get "lost" in the dark & cry for help, our other cat, Agatha, would lay on the comforter on our bed and I SWEAR she'd GRIN! It was if she were smuggly saying, "Stupid cat!"

I used to have a LARGE white angora, Agatha. What a character! She would sit on top of the refridgerator, could open the kitchen door by the knob, brought us live mice & used our toilet AND would flush it! My wife TRIED to give her a bath ONCE in a full tub. It was so funny I was rolling on the floor. Someone stole Agatha.

She was really a very beautiful cat. She looked just like the white angora on the old FANCY FEASTS commercials. You know, the one with the rhinestone collar eating out of a stemmed crystal desert dish?
She wasn't gone long before we had a big neighborhood search gloing on. We never found a corpse.
I still miss her. She was a good friend.

I did, but he was an outdoor cat and kept bringing those fleas indoors! Actually, he wasn't as stressed out as he looked in the video. Had he been scared, I would have been totally torn apart rather than a little bite.
The cat I have now is 7 and has never had fleas.

Unfortunately for the owner and more importantly the cat, this does not work. You have to deal with the source of the fleas eg where they are breeding. You need to vacuum your carpets regularly and flea spray them, plus any favourite spots that the cat sleeps. Flea collars and bathing them is just dealing with the after affects. If you really insist on bathing the cat use the shower head, its quicker for you and the cat.

And I couldn't use the shower head because it was permanently attached to the shower, lol! Was I supposed to lift him up there?

I bath my Persian once in a while he loves it I put him in the beeday thing and make sure the water is run before he even gets put near it then I use a jug of warm water from the sink. He loves it over his back! I keep it away from his face but he sits there loving it! Bless!!! ^_^
