  • use dry dog food and in a foot or less of water thats what i did and got 40 in on over night

  • I bought a minnow trap a while ago just to see if it would work. It's very similar to your homemade one too. I chop up a worm and let it sit over night and i usually have over 20 minnows by mourning. but I'm more into top water bass fishing now so no need for the trap anymore.

  • i fished trout with live bait with no affect... spinner baits seem to work better

  • i set this trap and i cought 17 minnows

  • Cool I'm going to make one.

  • thumbs up if u think the girl looks way better than a monster

  • thumbs up if this girl is actually a guy with long hair

  • well i have bin catching 4 sunfish every 30 minutes

  • I made on of these traps and I put it out for only like 10mins and I had 16 minnows. I guess the minnows were starving.

  • It's a good trap but your using way to much bait, if leaving it for say 12 hours you usually dont even need bait.

I dont know if your aware of this or not but this is mainly a trap used for catching bait for bigger fish and game.

  • nice but i was expecting there to be a lot more fish after one night in he river

  • I put one in a little stream and 10 mins later had 3 little minnows in it.

  • who would eat that its sooo small

can it cach fish fish too????

  • @myarocks34 You use the small fish you catch in this to chatch bigger fish. :)

  • @WWEfandylan ohh thnxx

  • First off after about 5 minutes of fishing you run out of bait with this tactic. Second off many kids will make these bottles and leave them in our water system....great teaching. SAD.

  • @hicohornet ur not proveing anything cause others throw dead bodies and garbage in there there throwing aa bottle that they are comming back for moron ur not smart

  • First off after about 5 minutes of fishing you run out of bait with this tactic. Second off many kids will make these bottles and leave them in our water system....great teaching. SAD.

  • hey ass hole, i don't see you posting any teaching videos, and at least this bottle will serve a second purpose in stead of being thrown into a giant garbage hole, and static doesn't exist under water genius.

  • I like how you sound like a chipmunk sped up

  • nice although they work way better in ponds or lakes just made one with two liter bottles and im hoping to catch baby fish like bass trout or bluegill to raise in my aquarium

  • YEEES it works!!:)

  • Two minnows in one day, i'd rather buy some feeder fish at the local pet shop

  • hey dude awsome but what i would do is put sand in first then put the bait in so it isnot all covered up

  • McLovin??..

  • i made one crackers work the best river or small streams

  • would cheese work for saltwater minnows

  • i do this in my creek, try milk jugsand put vanilla in the container, drives fish crazy. The more traps= more fish

  • leleee kato otida a rekata sas 1 shishe za 2 chasa nalova 50 malki ridki a toq za 2 dni 2 :D

  • omg, the girl with you, is SIMPLY USELESS! She can't even hold your camera?!!!!!

  • well, actually, its my younger brother with his long hair and he was just coming to the river when we saw him

  • u shud use that for a live bate trap so u have live bate to use for fishing

  • nop, I dont know where that is, this is the missisquoi river

  • wats the piont can u eat them or something

  • @Xxxbuzzardboy98 you use them to catch bigger fish, like bass.. they are great bait but expensive and in my case there are no bait shops within 20 miles that carry minnows.

  • nice quality with which calculator did u record this?

  • how about instead of criticizing other people, you get your self a camera and make some helpful videos to share with other people.

  • @halosavage hate to say but not really helpful, its more of a novelty

  • @halosavage you should probably stick to the video games. if u r gonna do something, do it right the first time

  • what r u gonna use the minnows for? just curiouse. if you r gonna put it in an aquarium can u make a video. iwanna see how they live!! plz write back

  • no i didnt keep them i just let them go after, but you could keep them as in a aquarium, just use the river water.

  • Comment removed

  • @1deidrich 1st of all i want critizing and 2nd of all im not from the city. im a town GIRL.IM NOT A GUY. I WAS JUST ASKING.u take it to far.

  • i made 2 of them one small 1.5l and one 2l and i caught like 45 in 30mins but funny only got like 3 in the 2l trap all the others in the 1.4l trap..hmm had goldfish food in the small one

  • put a link for the how to make it video plz

  • just go on my profile and see the video

  • Cool cause I've never seen one work

  • a meter and a half feet ?

  • i made one of them and i caught 20 minnows in it at one time. i used cat food for bait.

  • hay i love the chipmunke

  • I'm in alberta

  • how do you eat them?

  • It's a good and a simple trap it's good u tried something nice and teach some people how to make simple trap don't ever listen to all the moron u gave discouraging comments

  • how do you get them out without hurting the fish? thinking of starting a native aquarium, don't really want to hurt it

  • watch my how to make video, i explain it. I use TWO bottle to make mine, so just take off the cap i tryed to remove at 0:50 and gently poor them out

  • or you could jus buy a minnow trap..works a lot better.

  • your stupid, it does not work better and this one shows that you are creative and it costs nothing..

  • @halosavage noo.your a dumbass.that looks crappy and a minnow trap is easier n gets more.

  • its not easier and does not work better.

  • Thats slick Thanks for sharing

  • thanks

  • lakes are best to use a trap like that

i put one in the lake at our campground and i watched the minnows investigate the trap

it was very interesting to see what they did and how they couldent get out

  • nice fish and nice trap

  • Now all i need is a river.

  • @yannai0h WAAHAHAHA LOL

  • @yannai0h or a lake

  • hahah fish are so dumb theres a giant hole in the center why dont they just go back through the hole?? dumbass fish lol

  • damn at the last part i was kinda shocked.

  • THANKS MAN!

  • good job bro. nice idea

  • thanks man

  • only 6 ?

    ive gotten 30-40 in mine

i will make a video of it

  • could they swim out ?

  • yeah, i got a fighting fish(small one)

  • so what do u do with these fish after you have caught them? And i know you cant eat these.

  • @ImiKingYo Bait, as long as the minnow/fish you caught is legal to transport and use as bait in your state.

  • @gamemeister27 okay i tried this trap and caught a couple of fish. I just fed them to my aro's

  • @ImiKingYo I need an aquarium filled with game fish.

  • well narrated videos ! i'll try it in a salt water canal in miami beach.

  • well narrated videos boy !

  • @TheFishKeeper100 I get them at small creeks or tributaries connected to a highly populated fish lake.also get a crawdad now and than but if u want a crawdad get a butterfly net and flip over some rocks in about 2-3 foot of water but u lift the rock and put the net where u lift it.they'll dart right into the net.

  • Canada ftw

  • yum

  • Can I ask you what you do with them after your catch them? I'm guessing you don't eat the minnows xD Kool trap nonetheless.

  • Dumb fishes

  • im going to gut a cayenne in my trape to see if i git eney mexacen fishes

  • That is pretty cool, but can it cook?

  • toke you a day to catch two of those little things??it takes me a few seconds to catch them with hands

  • The minnow trap works pretty good. If you can get ahold of a 3 liter soda bottle that will work well too. You can restrict the opening of the larger bottle a little to meet local regulations. Good to see the younger generation taking an interest.

  • damn.. i made 4-5 traps before.. diffrent size or bottles and i put cheese/bread and fish food then i went out and put them near some rocks in the water whit a fishing line on and some holes and stones so it would sink and not float away.. then i wait for about 4-5 hours.. and i didnt get any fishes.. was like 2-3 months ago i'm gonna try again but i dont know where to put them.. couse i cant see any fishes in the water where i put them in.. so its kinda pointless i wanna keep them as pets.

  • haha, i can tell by your name :P and yea, ur not going to catch anything if there is no fish

  • What Do U Use For BAit

  • omg, dont u listen in the video?? u can use anything that u eat, bread rice, cheese....

  • @halosavage beff?

  • i dont need to wait a day or 2 cuz i know that theirs hundreds where i fish at the lake i go to, i used to catch them with my hands, but i waz lookin for a "how to," vid to make it easier on me

  • what did u do with the fish

  • That dosent work

  • just stay there for like an hour and fish and when you pull that up you have fishing bait

  • haha nice u caught a trout with cheese! lmao i dont ususlly fish for trout just pike waleye and bass

  • nice what food works the best to catch minnows?

  • @TheWhitesox17 bread or crackers or a mix with some dog or cat food.

  • can u use power bait?

  • can you open the top o f the bottleto get tgem out

  • will the fish escape through the hole they go in to??

  • no, they try to get out by the sides, not from the middle were the hole is..

  • @halosavage is the reason they dont go out the back beacuse they are to big to get turned around? or just they arnt smart enough? bc ik fish are alot smarter then most people think

  • they just dont think of getting out of it by swimming through the middle, trust me, and if u dont try it, and you will see, it works

  • @12jason223 are you realy that stupid?

  • @ethantup456 do you have any idea how smart fish really are? gold fish can be trained to ring a bell, a gold fish, imagine how smart a large river fish could be

  • @ftorresfan123 there too stupid

  • they eat your spit too try it you can really attract them that way

  • Use bread hotdog or cheese

  • i made minnow bait using 1 btle. baitef it with pcs granola bar and pcs bread. left iot overnight got nothing. any ideas? thx cougar

  • Nicee

  • I'm not trying to say your version is useless but i just bought one and every day I check it I have at least two and I don't even use bait

  • Will you make a video of u setting it and checking it in a lake

  • no cuz im near a river and a lake would be the same thing i imagine

  • That kid at 3:37 is UGLY! haha jk. And by the way this trap works amazingly better in salt water. Today I used some shrimp heads in a similar trap and caught maybe 50 mud minnows. I have over 50 of these traps set around my creek and I catch the minnows and sell them to my local bait and tackle shop 25 cents a pop!

  • can you use dog or cat food as bait

  • @shelaire156 yes it does work but not very good. but you have to cut the dog food in half unless its fucking puppy chow haha

  • RICE WORKS IF HALF COOKED TO COOKED

  • Hey guys, if you live in the USA and want a really cool bait fish trap, check out the Collapse-A-Trap video on you tube!

  • Can you eat those, or is it just for fun?

  • u can do watever you want with them

  • @halosavage they are way to small to eat, there is no meat on them

  • make a PB&J sandwich with them :D

  • @MsMosquito9 yeah man...you can eat them. they taste like potato chips.....check out my minnow trap guys.. and check out my other survival vids!!

  • @MsMosquito9 no you use them for bait for bigger fish

  • not bad for a canadian hockey nut. lolz jk nice vid.

  • funny, thats whats american think of us, exempt i dont like sprots.

  • u dont need to put rocks in it if u slowly let some water come in and then place it

  • well, all the times i set it, it floats if i dont put rocks in it.

  • ok thanks 4 your help

  • do you have to let t sit for a day? its a sweet little trap!

  • yes i recommend setting it in the morning and checking it the next day..

  • ok whats the best kind of bait that you used in it? or what would you recommend?

  • anything, from bred to dog food, to meat to rice, anything

  • awesome. i just made a trap today. im going to try it tonight. give me luck.

  • good luck

  • i made one of these and caught like 50 stripers down in the pond about mile away from my house!!!!

  • nice!

  • dude put samll holes in the bottle so it would sink....im making a vid soon showing all my awsome traps desighns and how i use em

  • can we do this in missouri?? will i get in trouble by police or anything??

  • no you should check with the local laws, i know a guy who got put in jail for this

  • wow lol really? i wonder if its allowed in washington....probly is

  • at 0:39 you could have used that bug that is crawling for some bait

  • @pyrotek13579 lol

  • @pyrotek13579 lol

  • Cool!!!!!!!!! It works!!!!

  • Nice vid. Thanks for posting it. Minnows are about six cents a piece at the bait shops around here. Now I can set out the trap and catch them instead of buying them. Lots of minnows where I fish on the river below a spillway.

  • THX im gunna make one and use it in the spring :DDD

  • i dont think fish like pebbles

  • dude ur vids aint bad i like em try raw chicken

  • nice vid man. wat else could yu use as baait?

  • anything! literally

  • @halosavage or i've heard that dog food works too

  • @eazye2345 just use an old chicken bone or dogfood

  • if they water is cold, then fish usually arnt very active

  • hay one day and only one fish what i cant catch any thing in like five minutes

  • no and i usually catch about 10

  • so what would you make of those little fish, use them as bait or what?

  • yeah bait...

  • nice vid man

  • omg id love to be at that river where you are, id go fishing like everyday or somthing :| , i realy wana live next to a river/creek >:|

  • yea, i love my country house too! :)

  • you dont live near a creek or a river weve go so much water where we live so many rivvers and i gotta creek in my backyard alot of kids go threw ther and smoke pot and yell and smash bottles so livving near water is fun but its open to everyone so they can do what they want so living near a creek isnt really awsome but i like it :D

  • you should put signs up Private property, trasspass and pay 200k fine LOL

  • if you put the string holes nearer to the other end and more holes in the end with the cap the water would drain down and no fish could get out

  • how do you make that fish trap

  • haha
