Sportsworld - North Pole marathon special - 07 Apr 08 Pt2

Having done the North Pole Marathon in 2008, (just weeks after getting run over by a hit and run driver when cycling home from work), my ambition is to run the South Pole and 100km ultra, complete my last 2 continents of South America and Australia, keep on running past the 500 marathon mark and raise millions for charity. My other ambition is to keep healthy and fit and avoid hit and run drivers whilst on mobile / cell phones.

Some of the comments re global warming are hilarious. It's not people travelling to the Pole that causes ice to melt up there! The flight to the Pole has the same CO2 impact as a flight anywhere else. Global warming is caused by the behaviour of people around the world - the impact is merely visible at the Pole. If some people spent less time typing poorly informed comments, they could do their part to cut back on emissions / wastage of power.

Hoping China to be spilt? If it really happens, the world will be much more messy than it already is. It is like hoping your neighbor to be robbed because he is so much richer and happier than you, which made you so jealous that you couldn't sleep at all. Then, one day you became so happy that your neighbor finally got robbed, but the next week you found yourself even in a worse situation, not only robbed but also rapped.

I just can't believe this idiots. Its easy where there is human the weather gets warmer, animals leave and forests disappear. I have seen them holding all kinds of competitions there-from speed record competition where energy guzzling cars burn fuel and science expriments and govermental expolorations etc. They just need to stay away if they want it not to melt.
