well the acoustic is a higher skill level than an electric. learning on an acoustic makes for an easy transition to the electric. while learning on an electric makes for a more difficult transition.
Haha, I don't think I've ever gotten on YouTube without watching one of his videos. I mostly play acoustic, and he helps me live the delusion that I can still be rock and roll.
He's as fast as lightning but not the fastest, there is actually a record held I can't remember his name atm but his music is terrible he just plays too fast, there's no melody, hence why I'm saying it's not about the speed. TE has the speed but doesn't forget about melody.
Also, don't forget about rythym. Tommy's ability to keep rythym is unlike anything I've ever seen. It amazes me how he can actually keep rythym while tuning strings.
bara måste ha tag i tabs :D för svårt för mig o ta ut den!! i have just got to have some tabs for this one, seems like its to difficult for poor me to figure out on miself! GReat !!
You can watch Tommy over and over. I have seen him at least a half dozen times, and he never plays ANY song the same. Not many guitar players will ever be able to do that. Just check his duplicate songs here on youtube. They are never played the same.
I think I knoow the reason why he never pays ANy of his songs the same, cause he learned to play guitar by ear on the flow by learning different songs and different styles, so he mastered the improvisation skill and now he makes stuff up in his mind and just playes it.
You see at the begining when he sings aong with the impo part well, it makes it up live and it's not alread planned, that what makes him a great player: NOT sticked to music sheets but makes up his only music sheets in his mind!
One of my favorite all-time songs played impeccably by my all-time favorite song artist... what a great combination - and TE does stuff to this song that the Animals and Eric Burdon never even THOUGHT about doing! ***** and posted on the Acoustic Virtuosity Archives (bigdood-Playlists-Tommy Emmanuel). :-) THANKS for posting this great video!
amazing!!!

I know there's no comparison but his lpaying reminds me of how effortlessly jimi Hendrix used to fly on his guitar. TE is the man.
