However, while you state that most people have gotten tax cuts, you might have not noticed that there have been a number of spending increases that aren't funded. What do you supposse happens after the gov't runs out of money for SSI (as it already has) or when the "Bush tax cuts" expire? That's right, taxes go up. So, you may be looking at taxes today, but look down the road at taxes needed in the future. Exen the President says we need to raise taxes.

And it was harder back then to start a business than it is now. Back then, the only peole who owned businesses were educated in business, and had monopolies on everything, or came from old money.

I would argue that when your grandparents opened their business (I'm guessing when the Fed tax was over 70%) that it was much easier then someone trying to start from scratch today.

No one was there because someone told them to, we got together because we are united in our opposition to the liberal policies that are ruining our country. We have enough taxes to run this country. However, while you state that most people have gotten tax cuts, you might have not noticed that there have been a number of spending increases that aren't funded. What do you supposse happens after the gov't runs out of money for SSI (as it already has) or when the "Bush tax cuts" expire? That's right, taxes go up. So, you may be looking at taxes today, but look down the road at taxes needed in the future. Exen the President says we need to raise taxes.

And it was harder back then to start a business than it is now. Back then, the only peole who owned businesses were educated in business, and had monopolies on everything, or came from old money.

I would argue that when your grandparents opened their business (I'm guessing when the Fed tax was over 70%) that it was much easier then someone trying to start from scratch today.

@sciencemunk Yep..thats what happens when you don't have regulations for Wall Street and greed takes over. Republican's theory of Trickle Down Economics have never...never worked. Ever. When you give to the rich, they don't spend. They either hoard it, play around with it, or send it overseas. With the exception of a terrible 70's economy, evertime we've had a Democrat in office the economy has been stable. Everytime.

As to your point about Republicans, i agree that they too have helped to destroy this country by subverting the U.S. Constitution. While Clinton brought down the deficit he expanded our intrusion in foreign affairs... and who'd the establishment bring in as a hero? Bush. Now America is anchored to Obama.

@sciencemunk but I believe that Clinton, who carried out Bush Sr. NAFTA had good intentions that would allow people to buy American on the world stage. Their was supposed to be a balance between us buying and selling and there hasnt been. At first it worked...the US brought in money and the Clinton economy was great..then the Republicans took over in 2000 and all went to hell.

It is interesting that Rachel Maddow claims Barack cut taxes for 95 percent of us (repeating the corporate talking points and ignoring the other 5 percent as if they don't matter.) Were tea partiers protesting a new tax policy? Or was that how Maddow wants to frame it?

I went to a tea party last week in a tiny town called Searchlight in Nevada. People came from all over the country to the event, creating a crowd of about 10k. No one was there because someone told them to, we got together because we are united in our opposition to the liberal policies that are ruining our country. Not just by Obama, but by presidents since Wilson. Long live the Revolution!
