  • I think it very liekly if Nader were in the debates he would have gotten millions more votes.

  • 2012 2012 2012

  • Socialist are destroying the USA and your all like good! Wtf? Long live the US Constitution down with the evil Federal Reserve and the CIA! Ron Paul had way more voters than McCain!

  • The U.S. needs new political parties. The Republicrats are two branches from the same tree.

  • Tom Murphy, you are a credit and an inspiration to our American society

  • Chomsky: In swing states vote Obama without illusions!

    /watch?v=kNpNzDoH1II

  • We need Instant Runoff Voting.

  • See my latest video: Debate Canceled

  • When will the debates focus on illegal immigration? Or deficit spending? Or interventionism? Or governments role? Nevermind, let's talk Joe the plumber.

  • At age 70 this is probably Nader's last kick at the can. I hope though in the years that follow he continues to be a beacon of support for Third Party candidates/parties.

  • In Nader's defense, at 30 yrs young, he's in way better shape than McCain. I think he could run two more times. If Obama is actually a Socialist like the Republicans keep saying, then I am safe voting for him. That's actually who I identify with, is the Socialists. In the state I live in, the only vote that would actually count is McCain though, and fuck him.

  • they all must show up and do this debate

they must put six chairs on the stage

they must come to a consensus on what they all agree upon at some point in the evening: the war, the patriot act, the bailout, telecom immunity, US TORTURE

If they do not show up for this ONE Debate and show the world that the two coporate parties are missing then it will be the worst for ALL Third Parties and the American People.

  • Please folks, I beg you, put your schedules in order, put personal differences aside for this one night and come together or we all will suffer beyond imagination.

  • if i understand well, then this third party debate has been cancelled?! If so, why; or what now?

  • last I heard the 19th is off, but the 23rd is on - I've been updating as soon as I hear anything watch?v=kREl8fVWkCU

there's info and links in the side bar also

  • wait, i couldn't hear well.

did he say he was or wasn't going to be in it???

because i reallyyyyyyyyyy hope he does get to be in it.. along with everybody else of course

  • He said he just heard about it last night when he was talking to Amy Goodman, and that he'll have to see what the schedule allows.

  • Pls watch the video I made and posted as a response above. It's Nader the Super Genius.....

  • Well Mckinney and Barr are pretty much no shows, doesn't seem this event is going to happen. A shame really.

  • Third-parties need to organize into a single coalition. We're too weak as a handful of independent parties, we're spread too thin. If we all rallied behind a single platform, we'd have a good shot at winning elections.

  • ron paul outlined his 4 points.

That was a pretty solid platform it seemed to me...

however there is just too much difference between the third parties domestically for them to unite.

I wish that would happen as well, but I think politically its just impossible.

  • I agree completely. By splintering off and fighting against each other they only create more divisions and only serve to marginalize themselves even more then they are already.

Idealogically they are not that far apart either. I wish Ron Paul had thrown his support to Bob Barr. The Constitution Party seems to be dead in the water and the Liberaterian party really could have used the support.

  • not yet

  • Sorry to butt-in...but there should be a test. A general knowledge test covering issues, candidates, etc. I'm not sure intelligence (or lack there of) in voting is all that there is. People really should be knowledgable in issues and politics to qualify to vote. And I dont think socio-economics (poverty, race, etc.) should be an issue. Instead of stealing that carton of smokes or roll of lottery tickets,(well, maybe the lottery tickets) steal a newspaper.

If people were more informed, we'd win!

  • Wow, great job getting out there and doing some reporting of your own.

  • here here

  • calpolyis this really throws me when people say stupid shit like a vote for nader is one from obama or for that matter one from mccain now just think how stupid that sounds if i dont like mccain or obama i would not vote period and i dont like anything they represent so when i vote for RALPH NADER it is a vote for nader so take your stupid logic and put it where the sun dont shine

  • Oh my god, Nader is the fucking man!

  • Are u kiddin?I heard his debate on cspan. He has a plan but destroying the wall-s? and then to kill people? Sorry, man. I have seen a bloody revolution in my country.you wont go there

  • Master-Nader......

  • you represent the corrupted/brainwashed mentality of a stereotype american.

America will collapse because of the ignorance of its people towards their slavery by corporate world.

  • And the cycle into fascism continues.

  • @calpolyis voting for Obama when you don't support his campaign is a wasted vote

  • Polls show Nader is getting more McCain supporters - do your homework

  • My old roommate is a good example, he's a right winger, but he can see right through McCain.

  • he did not have his chances! Nor did Ron or Dennis or Mike or Cynthia. Because if Obama or the war criminal had to debate any of them and real issues were being discussed those warmongers would get their asses kicked

  • a vote for nader is a vote for nader. obama doesn't need help losing to mccain. obama can do that on his own. it's pretty sleazy to place blame on nader voters for the votes that obama fails to earn for himself.

if you vote for obama because you want obama to win, that's one thing. but if you vote for obama just because you want mccain to lose, shame on you.

  • Voting for Ralph Nader is a better vote then voting for corporate controlled Obama.

Why dont Obama voters make the right choice and vote for Nader.

And in 2000, Gore was not the better candidate, Nader was!

  • The other day someone handing out registration forms asked me why I was going to waste my vote on a third party candidate. When I mentioned McKinney's name, it was obvious he didn't know who she was and ended to debate me.

  • This is because the people who work for the Republicans and Democrats are not that politically cultured as they think. All these canvass people know is what the campaign feeds them and t.v. commercials. They do not know anything more and thats what creates the sheep mentality. If you like McKinney, then vote for her. I like Nader and will vote for him. In the long run we must come together and protest out front of the debate commission. This is the first step... People Power!

  • I was also talking to a friend who advised me that I should vote for Obama, otherwise McCain would win. So it seems that he's voting for him because he fears McCain would get the popular vote. I think people are being misled about what a democracy is and the media is largely to blame. They are not being informed about their choices. I am so thankful for Representative Press.

  • I voted for Nader in 2000. Problem is, he gets no electoral votes, or I'd vote for him every time.

  • Hey, I wasn't challenging you or being hostile. I was just curious.

  • You know, the debates used to be held by "the american women's league", Somewhere around the late 80's, these lobbyist [who were leaders of both:Republican, and Democrats] had the elections privately funded so that they would have utter control of the debates management.

Therefore, any "other" presidential party candidate who didn't favor major party interests, couldn't intervene in the debate process.

  • You are a 100% correct. The commission on presidential debates is corrupt and so is the 2 party system. I think that we as a nation should just focus on breaking down one wall at a time, OPENING THE DEBATES FIRST!

Once we do that, the walls will fall!

  • yes the media road block is involved in this, notice how they don't criticize the debate system as it is now.

  • but how do we go after the commission on presidential debates? It seems to me we have to organize better, raise funds and do the footwork (walking around neiborhoods telling the people about this scam)

  • will anyone be in the debate?

it seems like it might not happen.

we third party people need to work harder on organizing debates for 2010 and 2012. email me (not john murphy, i'm a volunteer for him) at inkabinkaboo182 (at) aol (dot) com if you are interested in starting now or very soon to lay the ground work for third party inclusive debates in the next congressional election.

  • I hope he'll be in the debate.

  • dammm.........

  • It definitely won't be shown live by any corporate media outlets... I'll definitely be watching it on C-Span as well.

Just out of curiosity, which parts of his platform are "far too liberal" for you?

  • Of course Nader talks about AIPAC.

Even if he didn't, it would simply fall under the category of "Too much corporate power" as AIPAC represents mostly economic interests...

  • update on the update for you shortly

  • we know your name now RP

i don't know why you guys have this two party system it does not seem right

  • We have a 2 party system in the US, because we do not have Instant Runoff Voting. IRV has been spreading on the internet and the concept is gaining some momentum. CDK007 made this video to explaine it clearly. I sugguest you spread it further.

    watch?v=EAgE1CUch3Q

Nader would get 2 to 3 times the votes he will get under the present voting system. If we had it IRV in 2000, Gore would most likely have won the election.

Americans don't vote for someone we vote against someone else.

  • Carefull though; I'm from Minnesota, ie. the center of the universe (as everyone knows) and we had Jesse.

He talked a good game, and I think he could have done more, but when your entire legislature is left and right and you're in the middle...it becomes a dual front war, and no one wins. The best thing we got out of the deal was lower personal watercraft tabs.

And a bit of uncomfortable fame.

  • He is so right it is all fraud and the one's at the top lawyer, corporations, bankers with the elite are controlling it all! While we or our blooblines are doing there deeds.

  • capitalism : bad

  • people start boycotting corporate america cut out the name brands cut the cell phone use or if you can cut it off.

start by not consuming so much take the power back dont support these crooks . start by doing less and spending less. dont give the crooks your hard earned cash.

  • I hope hes in it. I can only pray.

  • hey, you were in ny yesterday too! darned barr bailed again (the debate on sunday, i mean). libertarian my arse. the constitution party platform is far too religious for my taste. i may be voting nader though he is far too liberal for me. hope like heck he debates. it's supposed to be on c-span, though i don't think they have said that it will be aired live yet.

  • Yes Nader, I agree with your points of Corporations owning america. But that is how our governments roll now. for the past decades. They own the media, journalists. Its our modern sick way of accepting things. but what can you do about it? nothing unfortunately. They are too strong.

  • Yesterday I had an arguement with my own mother about that when I told her that their were more then 2 candidates running. I even showed her rep press's videos and Ralph Nader vids. She was so sure she was right because she saw the debates on TV and because Obama made a statement that made it sound as if it were true and other channels have done the same thing. Channel 5's website, WA Post, show the 2 popular candidates. Finally, when I showed her Ralph Nader's site she believed me.

  • Well Nader can at least inform people about the problems, and at most affect policy changes by mainstream candidates, as third party candidates have historically done.

You can, at the least, inform others about the corruption and perversion of life, business, politics, culture, and health by corporations and government, and at most take action to resist both!!

  • Nader/gonzalez-08

  • thanks for the update !..
