Audi R8 is a Lamborghini gallardo wannabe aka poor man's lamborghini gallardo( of course r8 is not cheap at all, but it's much cheaper than a lambo), Porsches are just the best fucking cars ever made, aston martins are useless, it sucks in every category, a fuck v12 version barely produces 500hp, shame on you aston.
the audi R8 GT spyder is 235,000 dollars brand new. the GT coupe is 210,000 and the regular r8 v10 spyder is about 190. i wouldnt call it a poor man's anything. a lambo is more...i know. and the only aston martin that would keep up with a porsche 911 turbo is a AM vanquish S. they are 525 HP and over 500 pound ft. top speed is 204 MPH. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. dont shame on aston
Fact if the matter is the 911 is the most efficient and has back seats. If you're talking practicality, look no further. Not to mention the more recent 911s are just as fast as the other two, even in the far less expensive carrera S trim. Sad the GTR didn't come out at the time though, it would have torn those 3 a new one. ;P
If you want slightly faster track performances, pick the R8 or Porsche (with ugly looks). If you want the utter refinement, beautiful looks, best exhaust sound, the coolest brand emblem, and an interior found in the $250,000 DBS without a hint of plastic and only made with the best materials, pick the Aston Martin.

The 2008 model had 380 hp, R8 had 440 hp, and 911 had 480 hp. The newest Astons have 420 hp so the test should be more fair, although I wouldn't care about the slight difference in track time.. nothing beats rolling up in an Aston Martin.

I agree that comparing the Vantage and R8 to a car that has almost a 100hp or 60hp over them is unfair. Maybe they are comparing them by how much they cost. I think Aston Martin should up the Vantage's engine size to that of Jaguar's 5.0L since they share engine blocks. What do you guys think? Vantage V8 my favorite sports car hands down.

I love how Jeremy Clarkson gets criticized for favouring Astons, yet most of the other car reviewers place it in the bottom because"it's not fast enough". Also, at the end of the day, you don't buy an Aston for speed, you don't buy it because it is the last word in technology, and you don't buy it for it's practicality. You buy an Aston if you demand the ultimate in sexiness, elegance, luxury, and exclusivity. End of story.

V8 vantage can now beat the V8 Audi R8, it now has a 420BHP 4.7L V8, so it's just as powerful and i think it's lighter as well, so i would get a AM vantage, then the R8 than the 911 Turbo, but I think all 3 are great cars!

the austin is soo beautiful but people dont buy it cuz its interior isnt that good as the exterior, loses its value way too fast and its just worth every penny, and fuel economy in it is bad

@coryboy345 Both those cars cost more or equal to these in Europe. So not overpriced here, overpriced there. And would you really pay the same for a porsche 911 turbo or a Aston Martin as for a corvette?
If you would then be happy picking up white trash.
I love vettes but would not buy one if I could buy a Porsche for the same money.

@McDiezel Why wouldn't I? The ZR1 is a superior vehicle in every way to all those vehicles. Speed/Power/Handling... It might lack in the quality department but Ill pay the much less price tag on the ZR1 than on any of those three European ones.

@coryboy345 In the US they are much more expensive then the ZR1. In Europe they are not.
Qualitywise when it comes to the mechanics I think the ZR1 is better then these.
Old fashined tecnology but proven to be reliable.
Internal quality like materials and finishing the ZR1 lacks alot though.

@65kewlray Are you smoking crack? Very little NA cars can compete with Europe or Japanese. Why would you think the camaro could compete with the R8? The Corvette could and maybe even the GT 500 if there was enough straight track but not the Camaro. I used to work for GM too.

V8 vantage can now beat the V8 Audi R8, it now has a 420BHP 4.7L V8, so it's just as powerful and i think it's lighter as well, so i would get a AM vantage, then the R8 than the 911 Turbo, but I think all 3 are great cars!

Indeed.. besides the new V8 Vantage has 420bhp instead of 380. I mean the 911 is AMAZING but I'd still get the Aston just for the looks and exclusivity.
