When he mean't the cord wasn't done right he mean't that the dumb ass didn't connect the guiding system to the main rope so in other words yes it could of been a disaster if he went down without it because if he swung sideways ever so slightly he could of smacked his head against the side of the tower or wrap around it. There's very little swing on that bungee with the guide cables, so no chance of hitting the tower.

Still, me being a paranoid coward who's afraid of heights, falling AND the sudden stop at the bottom I still think I'll leave it to others. Of course, I'm still envious and admiring of anyone who CAN do this.

Oh, anyone can do a bungee jump.

I figured this sort of thing is mostly psychological and my chances of survival were acceptable. (And the Chinese are generally quite conservative, so the jump had to be safe for it to even be allowed to operate.)

I visualized the jump and rehearsed it many times beforehand. Hell I was scared, but then thrill takes over just before the jump and visualization made me feel it was more normal.

@toxicXwings something dangerous could happen doing any bunjee at any age... it's just a question of whether it's likely to... which it isn't really unless you're prone to injuries anyway.

Of course, things could happen like bones breaking, joints dislocating, retinas detaching and, if they do something wrong, falling to a horrible, horrible death... but those are all very UNlikely.
