One must remember that as Henry aged, he became a victim of numerous, severe illnesses that affected not only his body, but also caused changes in his personality along with other psychological problems.

From his early 30s on, Henry's health began to decline.

He was a man who had tremendous potential, but who was seriously injured, which affected him as much psychologically as it did physically, as well as suffering probably from diabetes and possibly Cushings syndrome as well.

Probably one of the greatest and tragic examples in human history to prove that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

A charming, highly intelligent and kind hearted young man, gradually turning into a murderous paranoid old pig.

I think Starkey has done Henry justice in this documentary and in his book on which it is based. When most people think of Henry VIII, they think of him as the fat tyrant who had two of his six wives beheaded. But in his early years, Henry was the model Renaissance prince: handsome, well-educated, a jouster, a poet, a dancer, a huntsman etc.

Meh, The Tudors is a joke. Any actor associated with it would have lost major credibility points. So just be grateful that guy ISN'T in that awful show.
