you know what though ... when i did come back to the drums after four years i really applied myself and practiced the correct way ... i went back to the basics .. i focused on gaining fluency with the basic grooves ... rock , jazz , shuffle , latin ... i re-learned a bunch of stickings and applied them to the basics of the four basic grooves ... then within those four grooves i re-investigated the subdivisions ... quarters , 8ths and 16ths ... i am better now than ever before

Brown should have fired Jabo ANYWAY!!!!!!. Jabo was playing loud and funk'n nothing. And for your info, in a round about way, the band that backed Brown in the late 60's fired Brown. That's why they ended up with George Clinton. They told Brown "LATER". Think about it. He had to go get Bootsy and the rest of that band in Ohio. They were called the Pace Setters.
