Seeing those posters of repairing our economy and how our government is deceitful crooks and this is a false democracy kind of makes me hope China invades and takes over. Because at least then we know what we're dealing with. And they're not lying about deceitful leaders and stuff.

With the US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, the entire premise of this film is just hypocritical right now.
It might have worked during the Cold War, but this film now is basically depicting the Iraqi and Afghani Resistances favourably since they are American in the context of this film.

Actually no, it was highly unrealistic. It was based entirely on the collapse of NATO, Soviet crop failures and a resistance led by white, republican survivalist teenagers. Plus no resistance from the US's thousands of foreign bases. Albeit, the Chinese have a "defend" mentality if you look at what happened to them during the 19th and early 20th century. However, with the humiliation and brutal exploitation they faced from European (and Japan) colonists during the Opium Wars period and the two world wars, these nations have woken the "Sleeping Dragon". They should've stuck to legitimate trade rather than invasion of China.

Well, let's be fair, many Chinese themselves were collaborating with the Europeans in the opium trade...One of the problem with the education of modern China is that it stresses so much on Han nationalism, it's always the foreign invaders and the Chinese victims, without understanding many times the Chinese are also collaborators and perpetrator (like all other humans).
China was not the largest producer of opium in the turn of the century for nothing...

The annexation of Tibet and Sinkiang (interestingly the Hui living there (just as long as the uyghurs) are very hostile to Uyghurs but friendly to the Hans) is a cultural/tradition burden that was carried over from the Imperial Era that any legitimate government need to unified all the lands under her predecessor, while I find this logic as ridiculous, understanding this logic, you will see China a lesser threat. I am not a big fan of Obama, I preferred Hillary Clinton since it is very clear Obama is inexperienced (as shown in his consistency in giving up his stance on changes due to republican pressure) but he won the democratic nominee, and John Mccain/Sarah Palin just don't seems like they know what the heck is going on, so what can we do?
