@joaoglucena In aikido your first two belts the most emphasis is placed in falling. I took me a while to learn how to fall properly. I saw a guy fall side ways he crushed his nuts between his legs. We had to drag him of the mat cause he could not stand up from the pain. So what you see as choreography is proper ways of avoiding injury in a fight were you are thrown or dropped.
This is good Aikido, but there's no fight in the video. Stop labeling Aikido kata/jiyu-waza videos as "fights", unless you actually have the uke who is giving reality attacks.
@CStewart1995 in a 1 on 1 situation it's as good as any other ma. you try to put a bigger stronger guy on the floor and farting aroud looking for locks and chokes whilst all his friends are watching GOOD HELP YOU. keep it in the cage, its a sport
@marter100mind. In class and training for gradings your attacks should be done tidy and correct. pleasant to look at. but when doing multiple attacks in class attacks do get a bit messy and everyone is all over the place. you aint got time to make it look good just keep moving and instead of waiting for your attackers you go looking for them. our sensei says if your partner does not respect the atemi hit them with it. it's a martial art your doing
@azigazikanya Thanks mate for encouragement:) now I know I'm not too old to take up training I need to take up proper mental attitude & move my lazy ass:) I think of aikido more in terms of self defence method than method allowing to develop my mind and body yet I guess one doesn't prevent the other and training aikido can be beneficial in both ways@
@klikon2008 Oh no not at all .Aikido would be fine at any age Because it is realy no more then a complex dance it is not a fighting style for fighting like judo . JIU JITSU . boxing and things like that ...good work out though but worthless in a real fight sort of like jazzersize
at first i thought that that the testee of the technique applied by the tester is weak then i figured out that the reason why the testee is tumbling is not because of the technique but because to breakfall so he doesn't injure himself during the testing of techniques
@ih8doofdoof search for this. "Steven Seagal teaches Anderson Silva some moves" and you will see. You really have to know aikido techniques to understand how they relate to MMA.

It is fine by me if someone like to train MA like a sport, but it is easier to train ma like a sport than like a real traditional MA!!!and bcs of that there are more sports karatekas, aikidokas,judokas...than traditional!! in karate 90percent are sports karatekas, and 10 percent are japan, okinawa and not so many dojos in rest of world!!
Martial arts is an art of fighting, it has its variations and its uniqueness... if more than one martial art copies exactly other martial arts techniques, it would not be called an art, just
all you haters. aikido has attacks they are called atemi.
doing these techniques on a non aikido person they will just stumble or fall over in a harsh way because they have not expecienced a person taking their balace with no strength. and they dont look nice like demos in class.do ikkyo on the street and you have your attackers face in a wall or straight in the floor sankyo in a very effective lock an easy wrist breaker. all these new mma guys dont realise that aikido is a martial art.
@TheFudokan I agree about your comment on so many aikido schools not using atemi. i looked far and wide and the only schools i found that actually used Atemi extensively were all Yoshinkan Schools. I'm not sure why so many other schools simply abandoned atemi so casually.
