You do know that Dave Genn (lead singer) was addicted to heroin in the making of the song... Best Friend is referring to the drug!!

yeh I knew that, but Dave didn't wrote lyrics in those years... however Martin was addicted to drugs too, so he decided writting a song for his "best friend".

Anyway I didn't thought about their addictions when I heard this song, I had no idea it was about it. Great. Thanks for the info.

I had the same addictions as dave and mr martin a few years back and the first 9 or 10 months being addicted isnt that bad, in fact its managable but after a year you start to lose friends, money and everything that is important!! Im glad they kicked the habit, same with me!!! Cheers!!
