Every country in the world besides the US and Somalia are signatories to this treaty. Corporal Punishment of children by their parents has only been outlawed in 24 countries. That's 24 out of the 190 countries to have signed the treaty. I don't think there's any indication that a ban on reasonable physical chastisement follows from signing it. It would, however, probably lead to prohibition of the execution of minors. But that would just play into the hands of the bleeding heart liberals.
