At that point I knew the huge bird was a Golden Eagle and that there was another, in the trees above me, because their calls are unmistakable. Not more than 1 minute after that, the calling eagle flew above me, at less than 60 meters. It started soaring, higher and higher, while calling its beautiful song. It then disappeared over the peak. When I returned from the top, I've seen the pair together this time. One of them rised at around 300 meters and glided in one place, on a countercurrent.
I've seen a pair this summer, in Romania, my country. At first, one of them was very far away and I mistook it for a Buzzard, which are very common in that area and look similar at great distances. But I also noticed a small bird near it, harrassing the 4 times bigger bird. It must have been a Sparrowhawk, given the huge size difference. However, I didn't realise I saw a Golden Eagle until I heard a call in the spruce trees near me.
@dendrobiumphilipp Yes, they are one of the most amazing animals in the world! ;)

Beautiful - where was it filmed?

@thedavepeck It was filmed in Switzerland. More precisely on a mountain called Pilatus.
