simply put diesel alone is more efficient than biodiesel, and yes diesel is the way to go.. There are hybrids with diesels that broke 150 mpgs... and claims of a 200+ model that's straight diesel...There are street legal versions of this truck, you just have to look for them
diesels are the way to go. longer lasting, more power from less displacement. Easy to boost power. just mod the computer, exhaust, intake leave the engine how it is. Also you can do propane injection. All relatively cheap. Relatively being the key word.
@andymcdo Have you ever seen mathematically how much less fuel america would use if we were as "dieselized" as Europe? Opec has a lot to lose when americans realize how awesome the modern diesels are.... JMO
i work at the crane company across the street from their quite large facility, and you can always tell when they are test driving a customer's vehicle or an employee is driving away haha, their trucks sound awesome
guess i need to catch up on diesel power magazine. the dakota was the last i heard about. reguardless,.....this truck is bad to the bone. thanks for the info though.
i was just talkin in general bout lifting, and if you do it right you dont lose much, but i do agree that lifting doesnt really acomplish much just makes it easier to change oil lol
@nickv0909 lifting a street driven daily driver is stupid, now if you plan on going off road, and really do some crazy shit like a 4X4 is built to do, lifts are awesome!
yea lifting it is dumb and you loose acceleration when you put huge tires on it without changeing the gearing and you want a truck like this as low as possible like druuGie said
actually you want it low as you can get it have you ever herd of center of gravity? Trophy trucks are set up as low as they can be and still get the desired amount of travel.
@aaron9696024 you lose acceleration when adding larger tires, because it, in the end, changes the final gearing, thus you raise your gearing (numerically) to maintain the same final gearing, but in the end if your lifting, your going off road, and acceleration is the last thing on your mind, clearing larger objects is your plan
Boy I was all excited to see on the bankspower homepage the note that said "check out the Type-R in Detroit this weekend.......Prominently displayed.....BFD :(
When you guys going to get off the pot and race this badboy... or is it just a big promotional tease.
the "power jokes" , at least the 7.3s, have few problems. my Auto technology teacher owns a 2001 with over 220k on it and aside from scheduled maintenence, he just had to replace the clutch.
I like all the banks sidewinder projects but this one is my favorite.

That took alot of time and it turned out a badass truck :) Quick question witch one would be faster the cummins or the duramax???
chevyman010 2 years ago
This would perform very well as a nascar truck or a drag truck.Hitting corners in this would be tough.

wicked truck i would like a street legal verison of this truck

I agree, unles OPEC has anything to say about it....
BenDrinkin1 2 years ago
why would OPEC have anything to say about it? diesel is refined crude oil just like gasoline is, it's just not as refined.
Algae bio-diesel is the future.
andymcdo 2 years ago
@andymcdo Have you ever seen mathematically how much less fuel america would use if we were as "dieselized" as Europe? Opec has a lot to lose when americans realize how awesome the modern diesels are.... JMO
BenDrinkin1 2 years ago
We would use less fuel but ULSD is more expensive to refine and it's only going to get more expensive as fuel standards become higher.
OPEC really doesn't have much to loose in terms of fossil diesel.
They'll be really screwed when Algae Bio-diesels starts in full production.
andymcdo 2 years ago
Agreed 100%. Biodiesel is awesome if manufactured and stored correctly.

why lift it, you lose alot of performance that way...

Not true, Banks just drag raced their Sidewinder Type D in Vegas and it ran 8.21 @165mph. Fastest /quickest PU as of today anyway.

its not the fastest, and yeah i know about their "no smoke" run
