I remember a scene from a film based on true events where families were deported from a ghetto. They were treated harshly but there was one family whose father fought alongside the Germans and won the Iron Cross. An officer saw this in a draw turned to the Jewish father, saluted him and let the family go. I cant remember the film or dramatisation but it made me think how the Jews might have changed the Germans perception of them and saved lives!! Sorry to hear about your family by the way !!!

What the hell? If I was there, Jewish or not, my whole purpose in life would be to kill Germans. By starting networks of guerilla cells, enlisting anybody. Himmler and Hitler's purpose was total eradication. They were beasts, and they deserved only one thing, total eradication back. The problem with Jews was that they went meekly to their death. The american and english governement knew about the camps, didnot even take an effort in bombing the railroadtracks to the camps, now that could have saved lives, you talk about things you know nothing about it seems. Ofcourse you are entitled of you opinion, but you should read better. My family was deported to Sobibor, and they were far from cowards. The resistance had no planes, the americans and english did, and they didnot think the jews were important, for the polish resistance had told them what was going on. Jews were not wealthy during WWII, that what they had, had been stolen. What resistance are you talking about, the uprise in the getho of Warschaw was done with knifes, stones etc.

How can we read better when alot of the reading material state this terrible war was as controversial as the First World War. A complex chain of events?? There were uprisings in ghettos and even concentration camps!!! I am just surprised that the families were deported smoothly and unhindered.

History learns us, that the Nazi's were real tactics. Every month another decreet was passed, first jews were not allowed in the theatre, than not allowed in parks and swimmingpools, than no jobs, than no university's, it all was well thought about, with each decreet their world got smaller, at the end they thought they were going to workcamps, and thought, we will work as long as we can stay together. Nobody had ever heard of gaschambers and deadcamps in 1942, at least not in Holland.

Most of the jewish ppl deported were normal families who (wanted) to believe the lie going to a workcamp as long as they stay together. I could show the letters my family threw out of the train, ofcourse they were afraid, being afraid doesnot make you a coward, lots of those were hero's in their own way.I would never ever diminish my own people, again, learn to read and do your historylessons again, than you would not say such silly things. THe resistance in France got weapons from the allies, the resitance in Poland got weapons from America and Russia, where did you think the jewish partisans got their weapons, they had to steal them from the ennemy.
