  • Wow, you go almost 2 minutes on video without stuttering. I could barely go 10 secs in a similar situation without some kind of stutter...

  • unfortunately, i wasn't there to console you :-(

  • i own the speech easy device and it does not work! Insurance does not cover it and it runs for around $5000

  • I went for a speecheasy assessment today, i knew that i couldn't afford it but i wanted to know more about it. It worked quite well and reduced my stuttering a lot although didnt stop blocks at the beginning of a sentence once i got past that it was fluent. It's not worth the money though it is ridiculously overpriced, an ipod is probably more technically advanced but is cheaper. I would love to have the speecheasy it would make a big difference in my life but it doesn't live up to the pricetag

  • You're much better than me.

  • @Spazzyme hey all you need to do is exercise, and consume whey protein, flaxseed oil, glutamine and Vitamin C in order to defeat this life struggle. I used to have this problem myself.

  • the question to make is, does it work in a long term?

  • you ain't so bad at speaking but you are like the level i am in on so i tend to drink alcohol so i can relax a bit better. I just found out body movements and taking your time and pausing can lessen your stuttering because it does for me but people dnt got a lot of patients can really make my stuttering go really bad.

  • I created free-software like easyspeech, breathmaker etc. It work only on linux. my site is easyspeech dot weebly dot com

  • Sweetie Im being very honest, you do not have a bad stutter at all. Don t worry about it. I have same amount of stuttering as you but what effects me more is that Im so self concious about my BIG EARS and my deformity I was born with, that, it effects my self esteem really bad. So im working on getting Otoplasty to pin my ears back, that should bring up my self esteem to the point that my stuttering and my deformity doesnt hurt me as much any more. Just dont give up, your a very pretty women

  • I can tell you after buying to device that it doesn't work. It works for a month or two and then stops.

The company that markets this device should stop selling it.

  • I checked it out a bit ago and it didnt help me at all. Our stutter is about the same and I was rather disappointed that I was an unlucky one. It isnt covered by any insurance and really is not worth your time. I would get a free consult if you wanna try it though. Good luck :) Keep on keeping on

  • this "speech Easy" device pisses me off. All it is, is a reverb or delay device with a pitch shifter in it.....same "old" technology used in guitar amplifiers and guitar effect pedels. How can they possibly justify charging 4000 bucks for it. They are probably charging so much to make the big bucks fast before other companies come out with them for 100 bucks

  • I heard the effects of the speech easy will eventually wear off on you as you get use to it.

What I find useful is taking GABA along with calcium and magnesium supplements, its doesnt stop the stuttering but I find it helps alot by making my vocal muscles more relaxed and when you do stutter theres less of a struggle and words flow out alot more easily.

Also I find it reduces the mental tension I go through each day trying to control my speech.

  • I heard that it doesn't work

  • i stutter

  • I know how you feel. I have to deal with a block stammer every day. But I've grown accustomed to it and it actually helps me strive more to talk. I've gotten better at controlling it too. I hope things work out for you. :)

  • @spazzyme do u mean pagaclone?

  • hey you don't stutter?

  • I want a "Spazzyme" calendar for 2010...

  • AND u dont look gross! i wish i went horseback rideingg hahaa

  • Yeahh i know how you feel.. i feel like shit when ppl copy mee. but w.e they dont get it.

  • Im totally with you on everything youre saying, I stutter too and I've been able to control it to where it only pops up in phases now. Its hard to do I know but if you dont think about stuttering, you wont. Like I mean I know when youre getting ready to talk its in the back of your mind that you will stutter and I find that if I focus completely on what Im saying or if I keep my mind fully distracted all of the time, I dont stutter. If you feel down you can talk with me I can help I have AIM

  • Its not awful. I can understand you perfect!

Your just stuttering with a very few words. Other then that* your not bad at speaking. you sound clear and nice.

  • Your stuttering is hardly noticeable. If you talked like that to me on the street, I would not have even known you had a stuttering problem. Yours is not severe at all in my opinion

  • she probably gets more nervous talking to people... and it shows more

  • speech easy is just an aid for ur stutter. For the first 1 or 2 months it will work fine .....but after that the same thing comes again and u start to start stuttering in the same way as you used to ..I can understand ur problem bcoz I am also having this stutter and what I have learnt is to Accept ur stutter. ok ......let me explain the rest of it in ur channel comments........

  • I can't tell you how much i relate to what your saying. I probably have a stutter very similar to yours. It can (almost) be controlled at certain times but for the majority of the day, it's pretty bad. I can hardly use the phone at all. When i went to a therapist, she actually told me that i didn't have a stutter (much like what many people are saying to you) simply because at that moment i had it under control. Have you tried speech-easy since this video? If so, did it work? Thanks!

  • Yes Exactly! =] I have not tried speech easy at all. I've heard too much dissapointment from it. I'm waiting for the stutter pill to be released. I hope it does

  • @Spazzyme im also looking into getting one. it costs £3050 in th uk. little bit much but if it works it would be so worth it! i know u dont stutter bad on the videos but it must b much worse in the real world coz it wouldnt b effecting you. have u used the speach easy yet?

  • can i be your bf, ur so cute

  • i hear about a tablet call as pagaclone, its in test right now but is in the 3 phase of the test and the last!

i want to try it because i want to know if it will work on me! someone knows how to buy this tablet!!!!!!

im to a stutter and my life sucks because of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you DONT stutter in this vid.

  • I have a bad studdering problem. Sometims wehn I say something, I can't get the words out

  • i also stutter but more than u, u only stuttered a lil i wish i could be like u

    i hate it 2

i would give any thing in the world to get rid of it

  • Spazzy... speech impediment and weight loss would be my 2 things to fix also :)

Some info for you though, i was reading that the speecheasy devices can still revert your speech to stuttering after a few months of use, because your brain adjusts to the device.

I suppose its like eyewear glasses, people need to keep getting their lenses updated, because the eye readjusts itself from the correction made with glasses.

Might not be true for all speecheasy users, but just be aware.

  • You don't stutter! If you do, you have a hell of a way to hide it.

You don't need a speecheasy because your stuttering is nill!

  • yeah, you wouldn't call her a stutterer, its more of a stammer over specific words and groups of letters.

I notice her really focusing on some words to not stammer on them, i notice that because i myself have similar problems.

I can speak okay for the most part, just some words and structures of words can be a mental struggle, very frustrating.

My stammer is anxiety driven, if i can relax my mind, and focus, i'm okay.

She seems to have similar probs.

    It's debilitating nonetheless.

  • We're not seeing her in a real-world situation in this video. You wouldn't guess from watching my videos that I am a stutterer, but I am. It is easier to control your speech when you are alone and just talking to a camera, but talking to people face to face in real life situations is quite different. Just because you are a stutterer that doesn't mean that you stutter constantly all the time. It's totally situational. I wouldn't be quick to judge. If she says she's a stutterer, I believer her.

  • Hey TheSailorGeek, i dunno if you were responding to something i said, you may have been, as i received an email saying so...

I guess i see the words 'stammer' and 'stutter' as being slightly different, even though they are medically the same thing. I see 'stutter' as being more of a dramatical condition as opposed to 'stammer' which more occasional speech impediment.

I wasn't downplaying her condition in any way or judging her, I believe she does also, as i suggested in my 1st comment.

  • I'm a stutter from Kauai, Hawaii.

I'm the First Person in the State of Hawaii who got a Speech Easy. The Vocational Rehabilitation Center on Kauai paid for Everything. It really worked for Me. My stuttter isn't that bad.

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

  • O yeah, if that is how bad you usually stutter, it is not bad and not that noticeable. Hypnosis may be cheaper for your mild stuttering.

  • I dont know how bad you stutter, because you are probably by yourself so it is easier to speak alone. If you stutter bad, 5 grand is worth fluency. If it wee 10 grand i would buy it, it changes peoples lives. Im saving up myself.

  • but the real question is: does it really work?

it may be just a temporary cure you know.... we still have no evidence on long-term efficiency

  • Yeah, true. I think it is only temporary when it is in the ear. The do claim that if a child uses it it will help them cure the problem. But for adults, it only helps when in the ear and will not help eliminate the problem.

  • I know how you feel.. I saw that too $4900 dollars ah yeah I dont think so. I have stuttered since 8..Im not that bad but still have my stutter at least once a day at least

  • that isnt a very bad stutter

  • hey, have you heard about the "stutterstop device"? something similiar to speecheasy. wayyyy more affordable ($499) but idk if it works. but i will order one soon since its not expensive. hope it will help ;)

    just google for details

  • thank you!

  • fuck the 5 grand just get one...but ur stutter isnt even bad

  • Hey they have an app for the ipod touch does the same thing as that thing. google artefactsoft I have not tried it yet but it has free trial.

  • oh i forgot to say its not covered by insurance! and its $4000! hope all goes well woteva u choose!! xx

  • hey i have a stutter to and would just like to say if u havent already got this speech easy fing then dont get it! its a waste of money! this is gna be hard to hear but there is no cure for this bloody stutter trust me ive been lookin for years now! on some of ur other videos uve posted u cant reli tell u have a stutter so seriously dnt get urself to down on it! oh n by the way u dnt look like shit lol

  • Well be glad you don't stutter badly! I don't either, but I have a stuttering & a breathing/anxiety issue (at the same time)...not sure if that's a symptom of stuttering or not. ..Like I screw when in the spot-light, but I started taking Panicyl (all natural) to help anxiety/my breathing and it's great!

Like you, I really don't want to spend $5 for SpeechEasy, and I doubt it if it's covered by insurance. Did you find out for sure?

And btw, you are so cute! (lol)

  • I meant $5k not $5 LOL

  • haha 5 bucks...if only.

like what are those, pills? =p

  • there are computer programs doing same thing

you can check if it works for you

    for example speechgym(dot)com

  • Comment removed

  • btw i know nothing about the speach easy.. but i'm gonna get it, cant afford it but i'm gonna get it !!

  • hi guys,, i do stutter as well but only when i get worried about it " although i'm worring about it all the time " but i mean when i get panic or when i'm in a good mood i sometimes say words "wihtout thinking about how am i gonna say it" ,, and i ended up thinkin HOow did i say it?

and that wht stuttering is about. at least for me

  • I'm not sure how much it costs in US, but I know it's about 3000 to 5000 UK pounds. I'm interesting in getting one too, but I can't afford it.

In 2010 the NHS in Scotland is supposed to be making some things free, like prescriptions for medicine and things, so I'm hoping that the SpeechEasy device or something similar to it will count under that so that I can get one.

  • I want to buy too! I think I can relate to you a lot. I don't really stutter that badly, but does happen in random situations, for example, ordering food at restaurants or even during class.

Basing your speech of the video, I'd say you don't stutter at all, but I bet you don't experience it all the time

  • hey don't beat yourself up...you don't even stutter badly. what helped me a lot to not stutter was reading out loud in private. sure i stutter sometimes, but its barely even noticable. I give God thanks for allowing me to speak clearer! anyways, practice whenever your by yourself. if you get stuck on a word, immediately stop and try to say it again, even if you have to whisper it slowly. you may feel like a retard at first but practice makes perfect! Trust me, it works for me and it can work 4U

  • if you can get state medical benefits, wich you can if you don't work and your a student, the sate insurence will cover pretty much all of the costs of the device and will cover all of the testing needed.

  • you dont really sound like you have a speech inpediment infact you sound pretty clear to me!!!!!

  • Don't buy the speech easy. High school isn't fun but as soon as you graduate you won't have to deal with assholes anymore. You have a pretty face and you'll find a friend/ boyfriend who can see past a speech impediment.

  • Doesn't work

  • I am skeptical of this speecheasy thing. Remember, they are a profit-making corporation. If they could go around curing stammerers left right and centre, they would be killing their own market! Speecheasy want you to be forever dependent on their product; they wouldn't want you to be cured any more than your butcher wants you to turn vegetarian.

  • I am also skeptical about the SpeechEasy, it doesn't work on every person well. And I think it's not good to become dependent of this device.

  • totally understand how stuttering can make your life a total hell. My stuttering has crippled me to the point where I don't even answer the phone anymore. I have read up on (only a little) the speech easy device. It is around 5000 dollars and insurance will not cover it, probably because it is considered "experimental". I realize this comment probably doesn't help one bit, but trust me, I feel your pain when it comes to stuttering =\.

  • Her stutters fine when she talks on this, but in the work environment it throughs off the pattern of her speech, see shes calm and relaxed in the clip, but when it comes to the person to person interaction/basic conversation the mind picks up its bad habit again of worrying about the stutter and because the worries are there the stutter is there. That is a big part of the frustration, and i beat my self up over that a lot, makes the stutter worse, shes seems stressed out.

  • yeah and btw i'm 14 and people make fun of me:S But i ignore them

  • You stutter very rarely. I stutter in every word in every letter. I have bad marks in languages in school because i don't do presentation.

  • I did see it... a pill is coming out on the market... I can't wait...

  • Have you used the speech easy in that video? Because you don't stutter at all.

So I'm s stutterer as well and suffering from it. It's not a severe stutter but a moderate one. Means I can communicate with people, but it's embarrasing to pronounce the words so strange. And I hate giving presentations, that unnerves me and stresses me incredibly much. But there's no way out, I have to do it like anyone else I guess.

I consider your stutter to be a light one. So it's not so bad, isn't it?

  • i just spoke to a speecheasy rep. No insurance covers it. The appointment and some therapy is $350 if you get the speecheasy and it's $350 if you don't get it. The speecheasy is $5000. You could file for reimbursement to your insurance but no insurance has reimbursed for the speecheasy. Did you see the youtube video on stuttering is a neurological issue and that too much dopamine is going to the speech part of your brain. You should watch it. "Stuttering is a Neurological condition."
