Hello ! In Brazil it lasts 4 days.

But the samba's schools parade last 2 days - Sunday and Monday. On Wednesday, There are the judges whodecide which school is the winner of the parade. This judgement takes place on praça da apoteose, the end of marques de sapucaí.

But the "Carnival" in Brazil, mainly in Rio, Bahia and Pernambuco, Starts in Sunday night, pass through saturday, sunday, monday, Tuesday, and finishes on wednesday at morning - this day is called "quarta-feira de cinzas"

It starts 40 days before Easter. In Brazil 2009 it will be on Feb 21,22,23,24.....2 weeks to go !
