Used very often as marine engine. This type is best know as a genset for emergency backup power. The ones shown here are build in 1967/1968 and used as a backup generators.
In 1929 Kromhout advertised to run those engines on palmoil ( from indonesia at that time) Now I am doing it again. Oh well, used palmoil then.
Looks like a locomotive engine or a marine engine.
