I like to ask if the body of a M3 is just like the body of a 325e from the 80's?not the engine,I'm referring to the body of the car only? thnx.

the body is similar however the m3 fenders are wider allowing for wider space in between the left and right tires. also looks a lot prettier stock although a nicely modified 325i (or 325e or any 3 series) can look fantastic. I prefer the m-technic body styling for the 3 series. gives it a stock look without being "Japanese tuner" looking.

BBS of course! They're 18 x 10" DTM's and made of magnesium.

As for buying a set? The only way you would ever get a pair is if you bought the car they're attached to! So in the case of an ex-works DTM racer like this you can bank on spending around £50,000 for a set.

Before anyone says ebay; you'd have more chance of finding a soiled pair of the Queens knickers on there!

The current M3s need to go back to smaller and lighter, not bigger, bulkier and heavier. This is why the E30 M3 still holds up so well.

As consumers it's our own fault really as we have continualy demanded more room, boot space, safety features, driving aids etc. etc. from each successive model released. Even the 1 series coupe weighs around 500kgs more than an E30!

The best we can hope for is that the growing need for fuel economy forces BMW into making ever lighter cars from now on until things revert back to the perfect E30 M3's level again in the future!

Mind you, the current M3 is shockingly fast around a track!

Actually, it would quite arguably be the E34 M5. That was the last BMW to get hand assembled. It was said that the 4 teams of 2 guys could drive the other teams cars and tell what team it was that built the car. That's the last of the legends, although the E30 M3 is still better for racing :) Cheers!

I stripped and rebuilt my e30 325i engine in 3 days..

so on the 3rd day it was back in the car and running..

Plus i weighted the cam-shaft

Weighted the valves

Put in over sized piston rings and polished and ported the head and manifold

all in 3 days !

not that hard if you ask me..
