  • hi

  • thank u sooooo much :)

  • That is pretty cool, thanks!

  • Easy guide & tips for the cool effects. Thanks

  • It seems choosing white doesn't work for me to remove the spot of the color. Is there any settings I have to fix in order to have this function. I'm using CS5

  • Thanx very insightfull and informative. Looked at other vids on this topic. Yours is the best one by far.

  • Very good tut

  • I don't even use photoshop...But i like to watch these tutorials! how weird is that? (rhetorical question!)

  • nice tutorial. I got a photoshop message of could not rasterize because of the pixel data is not editable, when trying to paint black or white over the mask. do you know why??

  • There actually is a tool called selective color under Image> Adjustments that I would like to know how that works but all the selective color tutorials go over this idea isolating 1 color or whatever the case may be but good tut though

  • hello!!!! your video is fantastic and very descriptive. I did exactly what you said and I managed to issolate the desired colour. However, I couldn't do the trick with the white and black brush. How can I do it? It wasn't exactly clear in the video...

  • @paraskeyh I just manage to hide with black colour some remaining parts in the photo but i couldn't reveal some others using the white.... ://///

  • So good. thanks buddy.

  • Wow. This was VERY helpful!!! I've done this using the Color Range then Desaturating the area i wanted to make black and white, but never with a Black & White adjustment layer. That looks unbelievably helpful! THANK YOU!

  • Wow, your tuts are awesome. They're really well explained and helpful.

  • Where did your youtube story go man? It was very inspirational and beautiful.

  • I watched this just to see the puppy. But actually, this helped me out recently. So thanks for using the puppy, otherwise I would be lost and confused :)

  • hmm does this work in every photoshop cs version

  • yayer! i'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS 4EVA!!!

  • As always, you do a great job explaining it all in a simple and easy-to-understand way. I'm kinda familiar with Photoshop and I know how to do the stuff you show us in this series, but It's so great to see these videos because I know they'll help so many. You're doing a great job, so keep it up man!

  • Is there a tutorial on how to do this with Photoshop Elements 9?

  • WELCOME BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok, I'm trying to select all the apples in a tree, but some lighting on some apples makes them the same color as some of the sky, and the darker apples are much like the leaves, is there any way other than manual selecting for selecting all the apples? (they're very pale green apples)

  • @krypet007 That's when you'd want to use the brushing over the layer, in black or white as needed.

  • 2 Thumbs down, wow, i am sure thats just haters, who cant do it better

  • omg... and i used to do this the very long way..

ROFl at "a million marching ants"

  • RELAXAAAAAAAA '-'

  • Awesome!!

  • very nice !!!!!

  • where the hell have you bin??????

  • are you tobuscus ?

  • @lillilmike No. Everyone seems to ask that. We don't even sound alike.

  • @IceflowStudios This series is SOOO AWESOME :D

  • @IceflowStudios Equal awesomeness is what i think misleads them

  • @IceflowStudios you don't sound the same, you TALK the same!

  • @lillilmike he sounds more like Bill Gates

  • @IceflowStudios @CodeLabMaster thanks for the answers! I guess my only way is to get a new camera, because it's actually most of the pictures that gets blurry.

  • i got one good question. how do you turn a white object in a image to color?

for example, someones t shirt or a car? but not eliminating any details such as textures etc. i have been trying to figure this out for quite some time now. if you know how, can you make a tut?

  • we've missed you

  • Your videos are dopefish, how did you learn all this shit? Did you take a Photoshop class?

  • your tutorials are the best! :)

  • :D

  • laterjongen: Just a quick (non Photoshop related) question, where do you get

your pictures? I know some of them are from yourself but I know that in your previous tutorials you have professional pictures.

    thanks anyway!

I second that question! The pictures you use are GREAT for practice and stuff, I would love to now where you get them.

  • welcome baaaack !!

  • OMG I've been looking for this for forever! Thanks!

  • this helped so much!! thank you :)

  • 80% of what i know about photoshop came from youtube and other random websites

70% of that came from you

    thnks alot ;)

  • nice info

  • I have a question about how to get work using photoshop. I love retouching and would do it full time if I could... but how do I know when I'm good enough? (I'm not much of a graphic designer.... it's harder for me) How do you get started in this career path? Do you assemble a portfolio and start looking for work on Craigslist or is it all about who you know? What do I do? I'm so clueless.

  • these are awesome

  • thank you!! 10000000000000000000 times!!

  • Thank you

  • I love your tutorial vids :) they have helped me with a boat load of photoshop items that I was trying to learn :) thanks

  • I know it has nothing to do with selective color, but how would you treat REALLY blur images? Sometimes my camera blurs a lot the images, and they would look good if they were really good sharpened. Thanks x

  • @fetcheoi Very blurry images are a lost cause.

  • @fetcheoi Unfortunately, blurring removes information from the image. It's a one-way function for the most part. There are some tricks to unblur things that are very lightly blurred, but if it's really blurring, you're out of luck.

  • @fetcheoi as stated, with very blurry images theres nothing you can do.. exept take a bether picture, id suggest getting a camera stand and shooting on self timer if you're dealing with longer exposure times or blurriness from moving your camera.

Then again shooting moving objects is another mater, where you need to up the shutter speed, and maybe ad a flash if the images turn out to dark.

    have fun photographing!

  • @fetcheoi Try to take the image again, but with proper focus on the lense. You can always blur it out in photoshop afterwards

  • NOW THIS IS THE TUTORIAL I WAS LOOKING FOR AGES ...THANKS A MILLION!!! =D

  • This is the exact same way as i would usually do it but the only problem is that you don't get a selection as 'clean' as yours just was with lower quality photos, so it takes a bit more work. But very helpful.

  • Thank you teacher.

  • I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE BACK! :D

  • Thank you! Your videos are far more informative that my photography a-level was!

  • you're so cool

  • Nice presentation. Tks.

  • Very helpful, thanks a lot :)

  • Wow, awesome, this is something I always forget. Like, comment, and Favorite for me.

  • skillz :P

  • Do you write scripts of what you're gonna say in a video, or do you just come up with it as you record?

  • I never thinked that he anwser my question :D Thank You

  • Really helpfull, keep up the good work (Y)

  • Thanks a lot!

  • I think youre voice sounds hot....

  • @Musiclovvah your* and he's married.

  • Color range is easy too use, but nice anyway dude what if i want for example say get away all the black except on the dog?

  • @dwagothegod use control+shift+i for invert selection then create a layer of it, edit it then apply mask...

  • @dwagothegod Make a selection of the dog, invert it and do as instructed in the video to turn it black and white.

  • @booyaka3 well the selection would be really bad since it isnt really the same color or the same structure if you know what i mean.... Yes i suck at explaining <.<

  • @dwagothegod no,no.. I get what you mean.. But don't make a selection with the Color Range tool, make a selection with the pen tool or with the Quick Selection tool/Magic wand and such.. Hope I helped. :]

  • Make a tutorial about how to know so much about photoshop like you. xD

  • That dog has massive eyes o.O

    no sorry, O.O

  • This is just what I've needed so many times in so many "different ways". Now, if only my antiquated mind can remember it....?

  • wow.. this is so much easier than the way I do it. Thanks.

  • Great tutorials, your really helpfull.

  • I like to use camera raw to do that, but it's destructive. But since it is usually for facebook things it doesnt matter and give a good control

  • very informative. at least u bothered to explain what the other options are. thanks!
