  • imo hawaii beats texas when it comes to powerlifters, ya got the samoans and some strong japanese over there

  • there is a guy from hawaii at 198 who can raw bench 500, and close grip bench 405 for 5 reps

  • why after so many years of training, your body is not defined very well? I mean, after a lot of training, it is normal to have a better muscle deffinition...explain.

  • @zorandesign because I am in my off season where I need to be around 10% bodyfat in order to lift my max weight. Now if you wanted to see what I look like when I am in season, just watch any of my bodybuilding videos. Last, being lean does not help you to lift heavier, henceforth why I am not lean year round

  • you needed 17 years for that body o.O damn i got it in 5

  • Your the man Tuan!

  • Ey I wanna know something... I'm mad skinny I think I got a fast mentabalizm, but would goin gym get me big?

  • Good job. Definitely tough work to get stronger.

  • I just want to say you seam like a realy cool guy. I wish you the best of luck on all your compitions.

  • I have a question how old are you? Those lifts are impressive weights and your natural. You appear natural but your lifts don't. Also do you follow a powerlifting/bodybuilder regimen?

  • @Damnationization I train for both. I have been training for 14 years and every year have been working on improving my lifting ability. My lifts are not really that great considering what others in the Olympic Games can pull off on the snatch and clean and jerk. What about the gymnast that do the iron cross and so forth. If you truly apply yourself, you will be amazed what your body can achieve. The problem is too many people give up after a little adversity and look for an easier way

  • @roughneckasian I am natural I started working out when I was 17 and weighted 145lbs at 5'11". Now I'm 35 and 219 but I don't do cardio but not fat or lean. I am strong and understand the Olympics. If you have yet to see it watch, "Bigger, Faster, Stronger." Its an eye opener.

  • @Damnationization I have seen it. It is one that my many should watch to get a better understanding of what goes on in the world of bodybuilding, powerlifting and sports. About the dark side of drug use. Also, how it affects you. It is sad because there are alot of guys that do not want to use the drugs, but in order to compete competitively, they have too. But that is how it is until someone trys to change it. I may not be that guy, but at least Im trying to set an example being drugfree

  • "they gave me a sword.. that i can actually use in real life.."

  • please get new glasses, please

  • I'm not nearly as muscular as you are, but I can squat 450. I'm 150 lbs and I don't weight lift. I wonder if that's impressive compared to your 550 ~.

  • Watch my video titled:

Barbell Squat 500 LBS + 10 LBS Spin Clamps for 2 Reps, One Good One, One Long/Painful by Tuan Tran

This is what is considered a powerlfting squat. One must understand that there are 3 judges that are watching how low I go and if I do not go below parrelle, then it will not count. If you squats are this deep, you are doing a great job. but I have seen many people never even coming close to this depth when squatting

  • Comment removed

  • @MyMemories19 Tuan is as civil as he is strong. You didn't squat 450 or anywhere close to it. At best you unlocked your knees while standing under a heavily loaded barbell in a smith machine. If you indeed squatted triple bodyweight raw, then you are as strong as the best powerlifters and weightlifters in the world. If I'm wrong and you did indeed manage this, then apologies and congrats! You are depriving the world of your talent by not competing.

  • You are one hot dude Tuan.

  • @scottulap1 faggot

  • @beahoggie A faggot is better than a bigot like you. ASSHOLE!!!

  • @scottulap1 nothing is better than a faggot. I have taken shits that have more worth in this world than a faggot.

    Die slow moron

  • @beahoggie You are right, nothing is better than a faggot. You agree with me. It sounds like you are a real idiot. Just because a guy recognizes another guy is hot doesn't mean he is gay. And if he is, what of it? It is guys like you who are closeted Queens (and I don't use the word Queen in a derogatory way). Why else would you be so threatened by gays. Read some psychology! It is proven the biggest homophobes are gays themselves. So I guess you are really talking about yourself.

  • @scottulap1 I ignored the paragraph you wrote because the author is a faggot. Stop typing so much and start thinking of an effective way to kill yourself queer

  • @beahoggie I won't be replying anymore to your ignorant comments because frankly you are not worth it. Why don't you just grow up and wise up. And by the way, if you have a son, I hope he tells you he is gay really soon. Then what will you do?

  • @scottulap1 Another paragraph by the queer. Why haven't you killed yourself yet faggot

  • I hope that Tuan Tran has a 2010 that includes much success -- stay natural! keep up the good work!

  • good job on those lifts, hopefully I can get my lifts up, and move up to 198 and compete against you sometime.

  • Congrats! You are very accomplished, and a perfect role model for aspiring bodybuilders. Musclemania is definitely the title to win for natural guys, so Good Luck with that in 2010!

  • that's what's up.. Anythin can happen, when you put your best in..

  • Man, those are some impressive numbers! Congrats and goodluck in 2010! It's awesome to see someone dominate in both bodybuilding AND powerlifting. Very motivating

  • good job tuan! you're a hottie!!

  • Congrats on winning those awards Tuan! You really show that hardwork, dedication, and a positive attitude go a long way! AWESOME SWORD BTW.

  • awesome! congrats!

  • I love your attitude here. In all your videos really. Thanks for posting this and sharing all of your trinkets. You are so cool.

  • Congratulations on a huge 2009 bro! Nice to see a guy work his ass off, naturally and raw, and hit those huge #'s.

How tall are you? I wouldn't mind competing one day too. I have to bring squat up though - it's a huge weak link for me because I generally haven't trained legs much. I can probably squat in the low 400's right now, but my goal is to hit 500 lbs. If I can get that, bench 400 lbs consistently, and deadlift 600 lbs (I hit 550 lbs)...then I will consider it.

  • Also, the weight categories kind of screw me up because I am right in the middle naturally. I am 5'10" and 205 lbs. I can either lose 7 lbs to come in at 198 or I can try and gain a bunch of weight for the 220 lb class. I assume losing 7 lbs is the better option...but we'll see I guess.

  • you a beast

  • I believe he is 5'8.

  • respect Tuan..respect.

This semester I started doing Army ROTC and ALL my lifts went down.

To combat the loss of strength, on the days we don't get up at 5:30am for pt, I do weight training.

    Congratulations Bud!!!

  • Congrats brother, you the man. Bringing home the swords!!!!

  • Great attitude, so do you have something against Equiped powerlifting?

  • only because it is getting to the point where the equitment is doing too much work. gear can increase your lift up to 100s of lbs. on top of that, if the equitment is rips in the middle of the lift, just think about the amount of stress that is put on the body right away. that is extremely dangerous. it was ok when suits and suits were for protection only. but now, with the triple ply stuff, its getting out of hand. RAW is 100% true strength, no suits or shirts, just you vs the weight

  • I understand what you mean, I have did RAW and Equipped Single Ply meets, I like them both, but as far as equipment failure I have not expierience that, but I agree it can happen, but in raw there are possible injury too, know what I'm saying. In the Federations I compete in Raw and Equipped are seperate divisions, records are in each division. So it is far for everyone!

  • @roughneckasian Agree with you. Natural and raw seems to go hand in hand for us who wants it 100% real!

  • Congrats all around buddy. I love your attitude. You'll do well in life, I'm sure. Blessings

  • Great year Tuan!! You rock--where do you workout in Dallas?

  • you're the best tuan! all the hard work and dedication is paying off!

  • Hey Tuan,

I am so impressed with your attitude and spirit that comes across in your videos. You've got great things ahead of you! You've made some huge accomplishments this year and you are to be commended. Are you in Vegas this weekend for Musclemania? Your picture is listed as a competitor but I thought you were waiting until Musclemania in 2010.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

As for musclemania in Vegas, no, I am not competing there this year. I am sure it is a mistake. My next musclemania show will be the same one next year in 2010

  • hey buddy ive been reading articles for days on a good daily protein intake amount but half say 1g or less ( per lb) and others say 1-2g ( per lb) im confused but you are a real person, so can i ask you how much you take in, or would recommend for muscel mass

  • Goodness, what a year! Congratultions.. on EVERYTHING! Keep on rolling out the good stuff. U da best!

  • damn, he made blown up copies. how much skepticism exists among strength training athletes? I have never use steroids and i got bigger than, but i have good genes O_O

  • you would be amazed how many people want to say that I had to use drugs to achieve my goals. but actions speak loader than works (the reason for the drug tested forms).

sometimes when a person successds where others have failed, they just want to make up an excusses why that person made it (like in my case, they want to say I use drugs) vs taking responsiblity for their short comings.

glad to hear you too train drug free. take care and takes for the support

  • You going to go for a 2012 olympic team space?

  • Nice! I'm training for powerlifting too. I want to compete in college next year. Good job Tuan!

  • tuan, do u use creatine and stuff like that

  • on and off, depends on what training phase I am in

  • Do you receive payment for achieving certain ranks within competition?

  • no, still amature. but maybe one day

  • respect
