@tommyk623 Both cast iron and malleable fittings can be used on hydronic systems. Cast Iron fittings can be removed easily when they won't "back out" by hitting them with a hammer (backed up with another hammer at the opposite side of the impact). Malleable fittings can be hard to remove if alterations to the system are ever needed. Malleable fittings are used for gas piping, however cast iron fittings are never to be used on gas piping.
I also put in similar whole hose filter. The domestic hot water circuit in ur house is on a separate heating circuit in ur boiler, otherwise it will mix with boiler water, ...??
I did learn alot. I am a HVAC contractor in California and I need to learn about hydronic systems because alot of HVAC systems are hydronic. Could you please post some book titles that I could look up. I would really appreciate it.
I have done that in the past on other jobs where the eliminator wasn't so high up and right over the boiler. Space was an issue here. Also in massachusetts the vent for the bfp has to be run as a blow off to within 12" of the floor which means we would have had to run another pipe.
Where are your plumbing videos, I'd like to see them?
the weil-McClain ultra gas boilers are amzing i must say i installed one about 1 month ago because the poor lady's oil boiler wentout after 50 years and they run beautifully and also have an extremely efficient rating of 92%aefu and low temperatures with an even better 98%..im going to install one in my house in may
Nice job. Im a plumber up in NH. I do heating as well. Just installed my second Buderus GB142. Have you tried them yet? Its a very nice setup. I used to install alot of WeilMclain and Peerless, but have become a Buderus man. Its nice to see someone else who uses split ring hangers to support the pipes, as well as a pressure gauge on the water main.
Buderus oil boilers have a three pass flue. They also have an incredibly low stack temperature when used with a Riello burner, and they also work well with the Logomatic controller. They are easy to service.
The Weil Mc Ultra gas is a great boiler, I haven't tried they,re oil boiler yet.
This installation is about five years old, I'm not sure if the Ultra was that good or even around back then.
I'm a licensed PE and used to work at a water based acrylic plant with a lot of plumbing for hazardous materials and your work is absolutely great. I love the bypass and pressure gauge on your house's water main!
Hi I live in England and I thought this was great, did you put it all together yourself? I am thinking of becoming a plumber or electrician as there is a lot of demand here, it must be really rewarding as I just sit infront of a computer all day BORING!
i am also wonting to do the same and am also bored of sitting on com lol...does any1 know how much a plumber earns on average and how much a plumber apprentice earns please?
Very much on point !! I know exactly what U are talking about, I work in a Heating plant in the State Of Florida, for a University, we don't get all that cold here so, I don't see alot of what you have on your video, we also use very little oil fired appliances if so they are rare, in residential homes; only heatpumps. I was trained on it, yess I'm HVAC certified. I work with (Cleverbrooks) steam boilers
cool video, recent homeowner in medford ma here.. GO PATS I was wondering how hard is it to purge my heating system, I have a split loop (one circulator pump)My problem is.. i noticed a leak coming down into my basement. now i cant get flow back into my line due to the air. I tried bleeding the air from the high point in my radiator but air comes out then nothing. any help would be awsome!
It sounds like you may have a pressure problem, it may be due to a bad auto feeder.
That leak may be dropping the pressure, and if the autofeeder doesn't replenish the pressure it would give the results you describe (site unseen). Fixing the leak is a priority!
To measure how much pressure you would need measure roughly the height from the boiler floor to the top of said radiator then multiply by .434.
i'm a plumber from the uk and i have to say although everything is the same in principal theres a lot of stuff you guys use that is so different from the way it's done over here, the types of fittings etc. You must have a huge house as that installation is getting close a commercial one. ps. what is the average salary of a plumber/gas eng over there? good video
Nice Job. I was wondering if you believe in the "pumping away" idea about pump placement with boilers. Thanks.

if this is a hydronic system why did u use cast iron fitting instead of blk malibu

"Plumbers and Pipefitters Library" by Charles McConnell, by Audel publishing.
"The Plumbers Handbook" by Joseph Almond, SR, also by Audel
These books also have great sections on physics i.e. simple machines, lever, pully, mechanical advantage, etc.
For Heating:
"The Lost art of Steam Heating" by Dan Houlihan
"Modern Hydronic Heating"by Siegenthaler

Great job! A tigerloop would have been ideal for your over the head oil line.

why didnt u use a spirovewnt junoir and combing the expansion tank on the bottom of it and put the combo back/fill/pressure regulator tapped into too

If H=30 then you would need 13.02#.
