RUSSIA.. now that is going to be an amazing team too - is Komova going to be eligble next year?? I know Mustafina and Nabieva are eligble (amazing juniors) and what about Grishina or is she too young?? Russia and Romania have incredible Juniors - probably the best in the world along with the USA. I don't follow China and USA though but that's my theory.
No, Komova misses by 30 days. I was just wishing. I think Grishina is too young. I really hope by 2012, Russia and Romania are challenging for the gold, not just the bronze.
I hope the same as well and that they are competing for GOLD not bronze. Russia are definitely very strong and amazing. Romania, I am so impressed with the juniors more than the seniors and they are showing great UB work with nice clean lines and form , just wish their difficutly was a little more and some original stuff too.
Amelia Racea ...showing how talented and how amazing she is. This young gymnast is strong on ALL 4 apparatus (although her fx isn't as impressive as her team mates) but this is the best AA gymnast out of Romania in my eyes. I am so happy she did so well and won gold on UB - she beat Porgras which means that next year Romania has TWO strong UB workers (Porgras and Racea) and add to that Daniela Andrei... that is a great chance for Gold in Team at Worlds.
No I thought that Porgas has compete at his competition and that Racea beat her but she didnt according to Silvas. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I didn't know Porgas didn't compete on UB at this meet. Still, I am SO happy for Racea who is very strong on UB - she hits handstand nicely... its great to see 2 youngsters - one who just turned senior (Porgras) and the other, a Junior(Racea) do so incredibly well. I see great future for both of them. Porgras, the new face of artistic gymnastics out of Romania and Racea, the strong, solid and talented young performer (great AA gymnast).
I'm hoping for a four way fight for gold next year from the US, Romania, Russia and China. For the teams (just guessing), i'd say for the US it would be Sloan, Bross and Williams, not sure about other spots, then Romania with Porgras, Racea, Chelaru (she has a DTY), Izbasa (if she's back for real), and maybe... Haidu? Then for Russia it will be Mustafina, Nabieva, Komova (JK I wish), Semenova (if she improves), Afanasyeva, and in my dreams a recovered Pavlova. Don't really know the chinese much.
I LOVE your teams. I follow t he romanian team and the russians are amazing too. I would go for Romania - Porgras, Racea, Chelaru, Daniela Andrei (because her UB is what Romania needs and she is good on vault and bb too) and either Izbasa who i hope will be back OR Haidu. I love Haidu but she isn't strong on UB but GREAT FORM (she always falls off though) but her FX is amazing. She is a pretty good vaulter too but I would pick Andrei over here due to her UB, BB and Vault.

I think "serenenz" refers to Porgras' UB bronze medal at the Worlds in London
