Its not the same as boiling something alive. We humans have something called empathy. When we see harm to something living, we imagine it done to ourselves and that hurts mentally speaking. Watching the shell getting ripped off feels mentally like having our scalp ripped off. Watching an animal getting its legs chopped off, ...well you get it.

Pay attention and maybe you will learn something. When speaking of pesticides, animals and rodents are 2 different categories. Rodents you want to kill at all costs while doing as little damage as possible to non-parasitic animals. About 100,000 rodents per hectare are killed in a grow field. Unless you grow 100% your on food, you contribute to painful death of animals like everyone else.
