  • i live in baltimore born and raised in maryland <3 POE!

  • @GothMetalhead999 visit his grave every weekened i can and every friday the 13th the midnight of and have a graveyard picnic and am a memebr of the poe society!!!!!

  • @GothMetalhead999 and read poe!!!!!

  • I love the old graveyards. I wish to go to one in the middle of the night set next to a grave and read an Edgar Allen Poe novel under the light of the moon.

  • What did you have to do for this essay?

  • i love reading these comments. very little people see the true art that lay within the shadows of this earth. i need to find more ppl like u guys lol

  • @AdamQuincy1989 Good luck. In my experiences, no matter how many intellectual and philosophical people I talk to online, they all always seem to live farther away than I can travel.

  • Amazing song, great pictures ^^

Personally I'm quite a fan of old fashioned graveyards - there's a beautiful one relatively close to where i live. I took a walk there once, reading the gravestones and paying my respects to the people under them; the place is huge compared to what I'm used to. Towards the back there's a spiral path going down into a lower section with more modern gravestones, and at the top not one of them is the same. The place is wonderful.

  • ha! the graveyard is bad? wait to see me. im always that guy with the hat down, when somebody dies, gets injured and leaves...

  • Edgar Allan Poe was a genius. Troubled but a genius. Im gonna use this song in my 10th grade research presentation. We were given the topic "A life worth knowing" and I chose Edgar Allan Poe. :)

  • a great song from voltaire

  • man i wish i had such a beautiful graveyard nearby T-T

  • @thegrief13 I live in RI five minutes away from where Poe's girl lived. Original place still there. Occupant - old fat guy standing on steps in t-shirt and undies. lol. its up on benefit street. they still have the original street lamps that need to have candles put in and lit by hand. some small scattered old cemeteries about as well. If the tomb is crooked, a vampire lives there is the old lore. :D I sat in the middle of one one night under the street lamps and just wrote for like three hours

  • Great song . . . nice setting in the vid.

5 stars and added to my playlist.

  • Very nicely done!

I especially liked how the storm damage shots weren't shown until halfway through the song. Truely fit with the tone of the song.

  • You see, Voltaire sounds good because he's found a way to introduce crack into sound waves. When you here it, you instantly crave more and more.

  • Ya know what... I agree. Voltaire has found some magic way of putting crack into sound waves. lol Makes sense to me.

  • This is a really great song.....

  • very well done

  • Why is it that Voltaire's songs sounds damn good all the time? It's something special about his music.

  • This song is just incomparable.

find a song like this in your life...let me know :>

  • Praise Poe. =)

  • wooo!!!!

  • That comment deserves a thumbs up.

  • beautifull

  • this is one of the best songs by voltaire. i just love it =) and the fotos is good to.

  • 1:02 he mentions Annabel Lee! (For those who aren't as Literary Inclined, that is a character in an Edgar Allen Poe poem)

  • actually the whole song is a Poe tribute

  • yeah he also mentions "the heart beating under the floor" but honestly: who cares if someone knows that this song is a tribute to poe or not as long as the song is good?^^

  • Well, I do, because I'm a Poe fan. Honestly, I think the song's got a lot more depth it has some kind of literature reference, don't you?

  • dude i didn't mean to offend anyone or to be rude it's just that i think it isn't important to be a poe-fan to like this song

in my opinion it's just well.. meaningless to tell everyone that he mentions annabel lee and that someone is literary inclined when listening to this song

anyonw who ever read any of poes works will recognize smoething in this song and anyone who doesen't won't it's still menaingless if you like this song

  • Yes, you're right that the song is great in it's own right. I was just saying that if i didn't know what he was singing about, I'd go- wtf as soon as i heard the conqueror worm and I'd think he's just not thinking while singing.

And no I'm not trying to be a smart ass, or make you feel stupid cuz you didn't read someone who's like dead for 150 years. Personally I never would've known if it wasn't the "Masters of horror" series.

  • There're references to The Raven, The conqueror worm and The Tell-tale heart, probably more i didn't notice ;D

  • Wow, what a cool song.

I need to get some albums by him. Not exactly easy to find at your average music store.

  • That is a grate song. He rock's

  • I am a fan of both Poe and Voltaire. Great video.

  • i got this guy as an english assignment in grade 9 high school...

  • it's cool!!

  • I'm a great fan of Edgar Allen Poe, and this song is pretty nostalgic of Poe's feelings. In addition, I've found I like Voltaire a lot, so this is a perfect blend. Excellent!

  • yep edgar allen poe is one of my favourite writers aswell i took one of his books to the graveyard to read its an all to fitting atmosphere.

  • indeed. I think insanity turned out to be the key to unlocking one of the greatest minds in history, and this song seems to compliment it perfectly with its lyrics and mood.

  • that is true and what would life be without a little insanity hm?

  • good question.XD

  • luv voltaire. luv him.

  • Voltaire is absolutely brilliant, I love him!! This is such a beautiful song and video, thanks for uploading! I'm a huge fan of Edgar Allen Poe, I'd kill to go to Baltimore and visit his grave, I bet it gets a lot of visitors <33

  • Very nice pairing. And well photographed to boot.

  • I feel like I should go to a graveyard.

  • Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

    genius!

  • I'm from Mexico, but am also a great admirer of Poe. And by great, I mean perfectly devoted to the man; He's my favorite writer. I know "The Raven" by heart now. If I went to Baltimore, the first thing I'd do would be scamper off to a cemetery to see Poe's grave. I like graveyards. They're rather quiet. I am also a great fan of Voltaire, and this would be my 4th fave song, just after BRAINS!, Ravens Land and When You're Evil. The others are just after these.

  • BRAINS!'s the best song lol but i love also this song after if i only were a goth. I'd love to drink tea with Lenore :[

  • i live in baltimore so i go to poe's grave all the time and i always think about this song while im there lol

  • This song is beautiful. Its one of my all-time favorites from Voltaire.

  • it is sad that most people dont respect graves they let tree limbs fall on them and some are broken the head is not connected to the headstone itself but in other news great song 2 thumbs way up

  • i like graveyards theres a peaceful nostalgic silence there.

  • Lovely! =D Great video.

  • I love graveyards, they help me think.... XD

  • From "Pigman" - "Dead people should be kept in hospitals. Sick people should go to cemeteries to get better."

  • Graveyards are a good pass time. Really :D

  • whatever it's minused for, sorry about my last comment ^-^ VOLTAIRE RAWKS!!

  • Honestly, I hope someone comes by and takes pics of my gravestone after I'm gone- it'll mean someone remembers.

  • shut up, malak^^

    beautiful video!

  • Not to be a hair splitter, but they didn't photograph the dead, the photographed graves....and trees....and isn't there like, six feet of dirt on top of them? Personally, if I had six feet 'o dirt on me, I don't think I would care if people walked "on" me. Don't think I would notice the extra wieght. But that's just me.

  • well that and your kinda dead. lol

  • But then, wouldn't you seem kinda weird?

"Hello miste poe, would it alright if i took photos of your grave?"

    "..."

    "answer me, dammit!"

    "..."

*starts beating up grave dirt, and local police proceed to cart to bedlam*

  • Exactly why Malak's comment was so rediculous xD

  • i like the flowers

  • Beautiful photographs... And of course, love Voltaire... Met him once...

  • Why did you take pics of my home!

oh well i guess it is alright sice you put it with a Voltaire song!

  • gggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • They are coming to Salt Lake City!!!! I am going to see them!

     hehe:D

  • Great song, awesome vid

  • AMAZING!!!

  • AWESUM

  • Very good. BUt was the damage repaired?

  • Cool. I love graveyard photography. STRega.

  • If you squirm at the Conqueror Worm

This is no place for thee

Or if you fright at the mere site

Of the corpse of my Annabel Lee

If you fear there's something you hear

A heart beating under the floor

Still your heart, there's no need to start

It's just me having tea with Lenore

  • This is a great video. I like the song (espescially the Poe) and the idea behind the actual video.
