  • its like F1 on ice...awesome!

  • If this was today, the race would have been started behind safetycar because it was "too wet" and everytime someone hit the barrier a safetycar would have restarted the race after a red flag...

  • When sky get F1 ads ads.

  • OMG coulthard wuith schumacher helmet 1:32 O_O

  • Those Saubers look gorgeous. Much better Red Bull livery than the RBRs of today

  • love the livery of the Rothmans Williams

  • God the onboards back then sucked around Monaco. So many trees.

  • Hill's smooth style paying off in the wet.

  • this is the race where coulthard was borrowing schumachers helmet isnt it?

  • @EvelcyclopS yes

  • This was one of Rosset's better races!

Good video. Ben Edwards is great, the BBC really should've hired him instead of Legard.

  • 4.24...wie geil. lol.

  • Thanks for uploading this vids man!

I've already watched the European GP 1999 of you, thank you man!

  • think of it. In 1996, Ligier (to be Prost) had Honda engines. Prost took the JS43 chassis and Honda engines in 1997, and performed quite well. But when they changed to Peugout engines, they sucked. :/

  • Look at the steering of Irvine at Loews hairpin.

Just before the corner placing his left hand on top of the steeringwheel to make that armcrossing turn :)

  • A great GP !

The last win for Ligier !

  • Panis overtakes Brundle it's not commented on - as we aren't shown the move. Go, go, go Olivier!! I'll stick my house you on at the bookies :-)

  • @DAH210774 Lol just as I wrote it Ben comments on it :-0

  • i luv herbert's car

  • muy bueno agrgame como amigo

  • thank you so much for this race. You brought me back such happy memories. In 1996 I started to follow F1 seriously and this was one crazy, crazy race...

  • Frentzen!! :D

  • Who was Pedro Diniz Driving for?

  • Ligier, he was driving for Ligier.

  • Sauber?

  • @RENEGADE231286 4 his money

  • forti were sooo slow even at that group badoer couldnt keep up! LOL

  • Best Grand Prix ever.

    Eddie Irvine brilliant

  • This was the best race in Monaco at all time and care but the most exciting in the history of F1, frustration for some, joy for others ..! We see an E. Irvine that although he took the blue flag will never step a sedi D. Coulthard, J. Alessi a victory to boot out the window, and an O. Panis who won his only race in the 1st and the F1 ..! I remember when I saw her live, full emocion ..! .. Congratulations on this material!

  • I didn't think Marlboro sponsored Mclaren and Ferrari. Only one or the other

  • I think Marlboro sponsored a lot of teams in the mid-90s.

  • @schopfheim91 They only sponsored McLaren & Ferrari in a big way in '6. Any other sponsorship was mainly through sponsoring individual drivers

  • They sponsored both. As Mild Seven did, who sponsred Benetton and Tyrrell.

1996 was the last season for McLaren in Marlboro colors, before they switched to West in 1997.

  • I love how when Rosset spun off

the marshals were just standing there

  • that was a mighty save by frentzen at 1:15!

  • It's a miracle Rosset lasted more than 1 lap in the wet..

  • Poor Berger! Understandably he was really annoyed.

  • eh? why on earth should it have been stopped???

  • No way should it have been stopped. In my opinion, I have seen worse races weather-wise, such as Nurburgring 07 and China 09, but they werent stopped, so I do not see why this shouldve been stopped. Besides, if it had been stopped, would Panis have won? I would rather have seen him get a win that someone who wins regularly.

  • Thats right!

Nürburgring was a lot more bad to drive!

It´s not even raining there so they didn´t ever have to stop!

  • to quote jeremy clarkson when he interviewed schumi: " aren't you tired of seeing someone endlessly winning?"

  • in regards to who though?

  • @Badass747 The track wasn't especially dangerous, just a lot of the drivers got caught out, don't be a wuss lol

  • theses where great times of f1 I remember spa 98 classic, panis brilliant driver

  • I Dont Remember Footwork Hart, How Long Were They In F1 For?

  • Footwork was in F1 from 1990 to 1996.

  • They were effectively a rebrand of the Arrows team during this time.

  • go damon!!

  • hehe, bennetton =D

  • rossett once didnt race cos he had a headache fuckin ell mansell had a virus and was sick n bad in indycars and he raced and even won!! rossett wat a wuss

  • Ricardo Rosset. What a joke. Remember Spa 1998 when the big wreck happened? There was a pile of cars in the middle of the track and for some reason it made sense in Rosset's brain to try to go THROUGH the pile. Hard to believe every time I see it.

  • lol! i remember, he went into the pile up like a battering ram

  • I Goddamn HATE that guy, really.

  • Great commentating!

    (correct English?)

  • the 1996 onboard are by far the best...

  • be a bit hard mate Ken Tyrrell has been dead for about 8 years

  • What is the white car?

  • that's a tyrrell

  • Great save by Frentzen 1:15

  • Couldn't agree with you more.

  • Para quien viera la carrera en directo pudo pensar que iba a ser un paseo para Hill pero luego se vio que no fue asi
