  • Gravel is the left-leaning Libertarian, Ron Paul is the right-leaning Libertarian, and if you want the regular Libertarian sort you can vote for the Libertarian Party's candidate.

  • Ron Paul is the true libertarian.

  • ron paul for sure leftism has been proven wrong and wrong again it we need to take the federal reserve out it has been failing for one hundred year the cia the irs is all UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! the federal reserve have been artificially inflating and deflating ever since the federal act our money is worthless unless we back it up the with gold again

  • this has to be the worst video i've ever seen, and Ron Paul is more of a libertarian than anyone in congress, let alone a liberal like Mike Gravel.

  • Mike is an left wing libertarain. He is also an anachergist. He is the altnavite to ron paul which is too consertive for me.

  • Please tell me English is a foreign langauge to you.

  • si yes

  • VENTURA/PAUL (OR BOB BARR) 2012!

  • We need fresh blood. Bob Barr is not electable and Ron Paul is probably sick of dealing with the cheating, corruption and biased media. If he runs again he should go all the way this time. 3rd party or independent. We need someone young and popular like JFK but libertarian.

  • All I ask is to do the research, COINTELPRO is counter intelligence, perfected by the CIA, made to divide movement/group and then take control. Politicians can say anything, so far the only canadate ive seen that means anything is Ron Paul. The media wont even let him in, his supporters are going to show up at the GOP convention just to make sure he gets a chance to talk. More government is always bad, humans have been through this many times with their past empires. sierra club=global control.

  • Hey wait a minute sierra club. Maybe into peace and love. But i been with them. Nohting but nice ppl. There goal maybe to have more united earth. But I don't think it is to fuck us up. But as for heath care i wont mind the goverment picking up the tab :) might just that full free market scares the hell out of me!

  • OMG COINTELPRO WE DID THAT TO OURSELFS!!!! GEEZE. BUt i dont think the deparment of heath will make police force to wire tap our doctors. If thats what your afriad of? btw COINTELPRO would be agaist the sierra club. So whos the enemby now? Well at least its out for public display. All we can do now is tightly regulate the goverment operatoins. Maybe forth branch of the goverment to make this a real democracy. Now the affect of me looking up cointelpro. Just makes me want mike even MORE!

  • The people that fund the sierra club are the same people that fund the CIA and the Information Awareness Office, now called MATRIX(Multistate-Anti-terrorism-Information-Exchange), your friends from the sierra club are in that data base. Seirra club on the bottom is trying to form a more united earth, for the better, but that is why they are suspects. Also in that data base are ALL medical patients&records of TN(test state), their goal is Total Information Awareness.

  • If the counter intelligence program makes you want to vote for gravel, that just means it worked. Everybody should type in youtube search bar " roits over food ", all over the world people are rioting because the price of fuel and food are artificially high with no explanation. Our earth has been hijacked from behind the scenes, the sierra club is one of many different compartmentalized clubs for the earth, what we need now is UNITY.

  • Dude you think the sierra club is taking over. LOL you got some problems. Its more likly the big companys are taking over. Like Oil companys. Not the sierra club. I know those ppl they have no use with a global goverment. So what they urge there local congress man to make the world more green. Big deal hahaha

  • Dude, you are really naive, sierra club is one of thousands of fronts created by the few to push legislation and public support. what im saying is, the same people that fund the sierra club now, the few very rich, are the same people that control the world bank, IMF, and what not. The oil companies dont really have any control if the money they are using is a fiat currency to begin with. Sometimes Green laws are more than they appear, have you done any research yet?

  • I love Gravel.

  • Gravel is still for more government, plus hes an elite globalist, (sierra club), he allied with Nader, who is a fraud who also wants more govt, Bob Barr used to work for the CIA, I dont trust any of them. Its all a reason to break up the one real revolution in politics, Ron Paul, everything else is misinformation and disinformation. also look up cointelpro

  • How could you say that about Gravel when he's actively trying to pass the national initiative which gives the people more power?

  • Pass national initiative?...or allowing it, with government mandates. The same reason net neutrality is wrong, gives the government a reason to step into the playing field. We need less government on all fronts. There are worldwide riots going on right now, Madrid cant even get food to the supermarket because truckers are on strike, its all because the price of OIL is being artificially manipulated by the very few very rich. They would never give him real power anyway if he was sincere.

  • Real low brow. mike a good man. I have friends in the sierra club. That's very mean and ignorant.

  • It may sound mean, most people in the seirra club mean well, just like the Freemasons. If you look deeper though, you will find an ugly truth. Most environmental groups are actually just fronts, funded by rockefeller, jpmorgan, rothechilds, to spread international law, one world govt. The carbon tax idea is a good example, create a world court, and an enforcement agency that answers to no one, to enforce the carbon tax. Big corps. can buy and sell credits, nothing good happens to the enviroment.

  • He left the race, they picked Bob Barr :(

  • the only option will be

to vote for candidates of your

choice no matter how much popularity

the respective candidates end up having.

  • We love you Mike!

  • "i love you mike" so do i obaidkarki, so do i!!

  • In the name of the best within you, do not sacrifice this world to those who are its worst. In the name of the values that keep you alive, do not let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless in those who have never achieved his title. Do not lose your knowledge that man's proper estate is an upright posture, an intransigent mind and a step that travels unlimited roads.

  • Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it's yours.

    VOTE GRAVEL IN 'O8

  • Awesome picture, Im stealing it!!!!!!

  • Hearing gravel blather on in favor of socialized medicine and an empowered EPA environmentalist gestapo like some kind of aging marxist douchebag, I have come to conclude that gravel isn't his last name, it's what's between his ears. I'm voting for Wayne Root in Denver, and contributing $20 bucks to him online right now, to make sure he beats this loser, and the Republican infiltrator (Barr) as well. We need a real libertarian on the ballot on Nov 4, 2008! ROOT FOR AMERICA!!!!

  • agree with you on Gravel but i think Vern Mckinley is the best candidate out of the libertarians.

  • Who gives a mother-fuck which party someone is running under? Just vote for the candidate with whom you most agree.

  • When Perot ran, his supporters sat on their behinds. Had they actually voted, he would have won (I can't remember the source where I got this).

People are still trapped in this 'vote for the lesser evil' paradigm, and it's DESTROYING OUR GOVERNMENT!! Look at the candidates up on the pulpits now.

Commando303X, couldn't agree with you more.

  • I think there're two problems: 1. People don't begin to give a damn about the election until the candidates have been pared down from more than a dozen to two or three. 2. As you point out, people feel they'd be "throwing their vote away" if they cast it for someone who couldn't win. Odds are, yes, a Green-Party option will lose, but what the hell does one get by voting for a front-runner, anyway? At best, he succeeds, but, so what? Do you get a prize for having voted for the winner? It's insane

  • Why do so few Americans understand political ideology? Socialism doesn't have to have negative connotations. Gravel is a socialist first and foremost and his policies are attractive as a consequence. It has nothing to do with libertarianism.

  • It's only the fascist wing of the libertarian party that dislikes him. They are crazy and very anti-liberty. They are against workers rights, gay rights, womens rights, and very pro-corporate rights.

  • The arab guy? I think that this is a professional video made to look unprofessional and used as a scare tactic. rediculous. BOB BARR 2008

  • If Ralph Nader wouldn't be running on a green ticket, then I bet you that Mike Gravel would try them first. To say that he is a libertarian is rediculous.

Hey Mike, time to start reading Bastiat, Adam Smith, Mises, Rothbard, Hayek, etc. Read up and study up! He is trying to get a piece of a revolution that he did not start and that's what I really dislike about his move!!!

  • Nader is running as an Independent.

I don't buy that Ron Paul is more libertarian Gravel. Libertarian stands for liberty. Ron Paul is not for a womans right to make decisions about her own body, and he also thinks states should be able to ban gay marriage/civil unions/adoptions. Gravel will make sure the federal and state government will not infringe on our rights.

  • A woman's own body? Well what about the other person's body that's inside of hers?

Quit spewing rhetoric. It's a matter of debate. Some people think that a fetus is a person and others don't. It's not cut-and-dry in our culture, there are plenty of people on both sides.

That being said, Mike Gravel probably is more libertarian that Ron Paul. Ron is a constitutionalist with libertarian leanings.

I like both though, seem to be great people. Voted Paul in Tx primary, gon vote Gravel in gen. elec.

  • It's not a person, it's a fetus. It has potential to be a person. When most abortions take place there is no functioning heart or brain. So it's like removing a kidney.

  • Well that depends on what is a "person" to you.

And you can't just decide by when "most abortions" take place, because what if it's done at a time when it DOES have a functioning brain and heart, etc? It's not an easy place to find the line at.

  • Well, 90% of them are in the premature stages when abortions take place. But I don't believe in drawing the line (banning late-term abortions) because it will not decrease the amount of abortions taking place.

  • Gravel is not a great libertarian. He maybe a better green candidate. He wants individual freedom but uses government to enforce this freedom. Instead a libertarian should remove the government as to not condone one side or the other.

  • slayer, Gravel is a libertarian. Just look at his policies and stances. They come from the personal liberties standpoint. He's not a Libertarian because he believes in big government(but seems sincere about it), but he's a libertarian (small "L") because he strongly believes in civil liberties and personal freedom.

  • Mike Gravel is teaching populism. the sooner Americans understand that we all need to stick together the sooner we cab stop the corporatocracy from destroying us.

  • I fear it's already too late. I blame the eighties and the failure of liberalism to offer propaganda that could counter the right wings designs. We had to wait 30 to 40 yrs for someone like keith olberman to come along or the daily show for that matter. Populism is the way of the future if we don't fall into a depression. If that happens then the right wing will play to our worse demons and out of desperation the people will choose a right wing anti christ to lead them. And that will be the end.

  • I do not get it. This country is closer to socialism than ever before. Populism is a movement one hundred years old. On the back of populist the values of an inactive government went out the door. An activist government that re-distributed wealth became the norm of both parties. Now the government favors groups based on the lobbying power of the group. This has led to the corporate favoritism shown by both parties. The corporation have used populist ideas to benefit.

  • I fear it's already too late. I blame the eighties and the failure of liberalism to offer propaganda that could counter the right wings designs. • olbermann and Stewart are professional spin doctors.

  • Absolutely, they are the answer thus far to rush limbaugh on the right. He's a spin doctor too and so is Oreilly.

  • Even though Gravel insisted that his constituents had the right to know the truth behind the war, the Supreme Court ultimately ruled that Gravel did not have the right or responsibility to share official documents with his constituents. Personally reading them into public record. He then published "The Senator Gravel Edition: The Pentagon Papers." Making the information in its entirety fully available to his constituents and the people of this country.

  • Gravel waged a one-man filibuster in 1971 that effectively forced the Nixon administration to end the military draft program. Releasing the Pentagon Papers, the secret official study that revealed the lies and manipulations of successive U.S. administrations that misled the country into the Vietnam War.

  • From 1963 to 1966, Gravel served in the Alaska House of Representatives, the last two years as speaker. From 1969 to 1981, he represented Alaska in the U.S. Senate. While a senator, he served on many committees, including the Environmental and Public Works, Finance and Interior Committees. He was the chairman of the Environmental Pollution, Energy, Water Resources and Buildings and Grounds subcommittees.

  • More facts most do not know about Mike Gravel. Mike Gravel enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 (1951-1954), Gravel served for three years as a special adjutant in the Communications Intelligence Services and as a special agent in the Counter Intelligence Corps. He attended Columbia University in New York City, where he received a B.S. degree in economics.

  • I hate that cnn host too! Mike Gravel is a good man.

  • Gravel he seems like a decent guy ron pauls integrity is not in question! so stop this usless bickering and support all the candidates who represent us best but as is the case now Ron Paul is more well known than the likes of gravel and kuccinich so you gotta get behind him instead of slandering like this idiot below (ohh ron paul jus delivers babies) SO WHAT! I'd prefer our leaders helped people in the most basic sense of the word and be of some use as doctors rather than loudmouth politicians

  • I'm in a far flung part of the world where the internet connection is not so fast so i didn't even get a chance to see the video but judging from the comments i can already see some idiots talking about - gravel is better or ron paul is better this is sometimes a clever tactic to split support and votes..

  • Zebadie approves this message

  • nice dialogue obaid '.....

i like gravel but , ron paul has been around a long time & his knowledge of economics , puts him at the forefront ....

would love to see gravel as vice-president ....

  • The point is, that if Ron Paul does not continue after the republican convention, then there is only one person left to vote in for president.... Mike Gravel.

  • Gravel has a degree in economics from Columbia University, New York. He worked his way through college as a taxi driver. He has a lifelong interest in field of economics. He has four honorary degrees in law and public affairs. Gravel is a TITAN in economics compared to mere mortal gynecologist Paul.

  • Mike Gravel identified, addressed and was outspoken about this country's economy, the problems of the FED and the IRS. Before Ron Paul was even held public office. That is fact, look it up. Your opinion on Mike Gravel and and his knowledge of economics is absurd. Look at the mans education, back round, his full record in office and the positions held held while Ron Paul was delivering babies.

  • Where do you think Ron Paul even got his information from first and foremost. Those who had served in financial and economic positions of this country before him. People like Mike Gravel that's where. Get your facts straight.

    And Bird lives!

  • Gravel is NOT Libertarian - i dont care what he says

  • i agree ....

  • Gravel is the ideal Democrat... that's why the Democratic leadership don't like him, that's why he had to leave....

    Vote Gravel!

  • Gravel has been in the "biz" long enough to know how to lie, just like the other politicians, dont be fooled by the wolf in sheeple clothing

  • Lezlitaz you are a moron. You may not agree with all of his positions but that doesn't entitle you with the ability to make up bullshit. A very few amount of Ron Paul supporters are delusional fools, such as yourself, that will throw anyone they disagree with into their poorly roasted conspiracy stew.

  • the few things i dont agree with are that he wants to make substantial changes to the constitution, carbon tax in response to "global warming, and i think creating yet another department for health care is asking for more of the same. if thats moronic thinking then im guilty

  • Well changes aren't bad. It depends on the changes. The Carbon Tax may not be a good idea if we can't get India and China to join. His health care plan with be a voucher system where individuals will be able to chose their doctor and hospital. His idea is much more cost effective and cheaper than our current system. However, all of those are minor issues compared to foreign policy, bankruptcy, and the tax code.

  • All of which is, if you measure his solutions and their minor policy and philosophical differences to Gravel are very small.

  • i like gravel but i prefer a true 'republic ' rather than a 'true democracy '.....

at this point i'll be happy to see anyone who is not a member of the CFR in office ....

i consider kucinich , gravel, nader and especially ron paul as the only candidates runnin' ....

to the aggressive theatrical personality below who attacks ron paul deliverin' babies ?

we could also attack gravel for his nervous breakdown but i thought we were above all that

damn straight bird lives ...and so does 'diz' ....

  • bebop54 -"true 'republic ' rather than a 'true democracy '....."

thats the equivalent to saying you prefer a dictatorship over freedom.

  • Karl Marx Libertarian ?

  • he will admit he was less than pure during his terms, i just find it hard to swallow his new found ideals without question.he knows the dems and the repubs have done damage,he also knows who allowed it to continue-US.Very easy to lead sheared sheep in the winter (are RP supporters now sheep)He is part of the system.this is just a distraction. i will write RON Paul on my ballot.

  • i agree lez' ....

i'll be doin' the same ...

ron paul has been around ...consistent ...honorable

..whoever can't see this is a very bad judge of character....

hopefully they will do more research ....

  • more research for you. and yes diz also lives.

    Part One: /watch?v=rWWRYM...

    Part Two: /watch?v=5MmauV...

    Part Three: /watch?v=xipm0n...

  • that's right 'paul4' ...

some of these people don't know the diff' betweeen 'communism & democracy ..

    nor a republic & democracy ...

    nor neo-con fasco- corporatism ....

    sorry state of affairs ....

whoever doesn't write in ron paul is a moron...

  • People its time to go beyond your own egos and admit that, yes, you may be completely and utterly wrong about something. Especially when there is so much fact to back that up. Every person that I've met that has spoken against Mike Gravel has one thing in common and that is their own ignorance about him. I've had more RP supporters admit that than I can count.

  • Just be aware that Ron Paul is a theocrat. I was for him till i found out.

  • ron paul has been around for years & years ...

i'll take him over freemason , satanic psychopathic genocidal... torturing... uneducated ....evil ...et al .... ANYDAY....

  • How so? A man who would do less with the presidency than any president since FDR could run a theocracy. I doubt it. Show some tolerance for one's faith and vote on the issues. Identity politics is what is ruining this country. Huckabee was the theocrat.

  • Karl Marx is a communist. Not a Populist. there Is a difference.

  • Thanks for the video it was interesting what Mike Gravel had to say.
