@amazingdany "diminishes in intensity the further you go all out usually at set 4-5..."
Exactly why you sticking with a single exercise for the whole 8 rounds in needed. If you never train to go 8 rounds... You're going to keep pooping out at 4-5.
If you go to a boxing gym and start training, you'll be doing this alot. Its in the basic workout to gain stamina and conditioning, not power or technique. While doing this you'll build up a lot of lactic acid in your active muscles and it will get easier as time goes by. And by the time you step into the ring for your first sparring lesson or your first fight, you better be able to be active or you'll be humping the canvas. This will help to prevent that from happening.
Dude, thats so fucking cool, you've got a Fairtex bag in your room so you can workout whenever the hell you want. My bag is a cheap ol' TITLE thats used, and it's in my backyard and it's a bitch to hit when it's cold in the winter! How much was it and how was it like setting it up indoors? :)
Don't ya'll know? Everyone on Youtube is a ultimate fighter or a kung fu guru, so that gives them the right to talk shit about everyone elses bad form....LOL
@iApna I'm not working on technique here. I'm simply working on my conditioning and increasing work rate capacity. Trust me, I know how to throw proper, nice and crisp punches if given a good reason to.
@stackgzup - Cool, I was speaking with my Thai instructor 5x World Champ (Lumpini included) and also Coban who (Who fought Ramon Dekkers) suggested it to me so just passing on some info. The reasoning was that when fighters get tired their mind/body falls back to what is easiest. So its best to always use proper technique even when completely exhausted or doing conditioning drills like this. But hey don't trust me talk to a world champ and let him explain it to you.
No 1 Brawler must be some kind of fucking superhero if he thinks this is 'going through the motions', another victory for the youtube form police. LOL.
I did this last year and could hardly move my arms for two days at first, and I probably didn't go as hard as this guy.
Keep ya hands up bro. I tried this one too, I know it hurts but practicing proper technique when your piss tired means you will use proper technique when piss tired
Tabata is 20 secs all out work with 10secs of rest 6-8 sets. Thats exactly what this guy is doing. Tabata can be used on any workout. This is NOT meant to be used as actual technique. Tabata is for conditioning only. This guy is not working on skills right now he is conditioning. This workout is brutal. People are so critical..and If you look at the Origainal Tabata protocal it was designed for olympic skaters...but can be used by any athlete.
@No1Brawler Everybody's gotta start somewhere though right? It is actually difficult to push your muscles 100%, and for some people, it takes training to get there. On top of that, when you're that tired, and you're punching the bag that hard, the last thing you want to do, is start off animal style and mess up your shoulder/wrist/ect. cause you punched out of form, because you were so tired. Better off starting at a slightly lower intensity then going up, better safe than sorry.
Nice work man, but tabata rest period should be ready for more not hands down. So stay in stance. Like if you were doing tabata press ups you should stay in plank during the rest ready for more. Still epic work out though dude!

thats not Tabata. Tabata is going 90%+ intensity not just going thru the motions. When i do it, im on my toes and my hips are moving violently with every punch
It isnt Tabata, im not being a jackass, im the only one giving constuctive advice. Tabata doesnt just mean 20s on/ 10s off, its about going at a very high intensity. Look at the real tabata which was done on a stationery bike, it was done at 170%Vo2Max.
out freakin' standing, brother! You're ability to sustain consistent power shows in the steady position of the bag. This vid motivates me,bro! And you're committed to the intensity by maintaining your short rest periods.Dedicated, motivated, never underestimated.Awesome.I'm hitting the gym now!!!!
Nice work!

Great work; tabata is about the work rate which is 100% for 20 secs then rest 10 and not about the technique. (superfit) well done!

This is so exhausting good job keepin it intense after like 8 sets my arms hardly work lol
rdale14 6 months ago
Personally, I do a different exercise per 20/10 times 8.
The same exercise during 8 sets bores you and it diminishes in intensity the further you go all out usually at set 4-5...
