  • I have a LOT of good memories riding around in my brother's kayman green '94 ranger, and driving it a bit too.. till the transmission blew back in about 2000. Now he's got a 2004 f-150 heritage. nothin but problems on that thing, too.. I like Fords, I've owned Fords myself, but.. Dang. I feel like neither of us can catch a break on 'em.

  • I love Ford Rangers! They are the most awesome trucks ever. I have just bought a Maroon 1988 Ford Ranger XLT with the topper for $1,100 on January 17, 2012! It works great!

    Nice video also!

  • BEST MINI TRUCK EVER MADE!!!!!!! i am the proud owner of a 1999, to bad the discontinued them..... sad day right there.....

  • such an old video but still the best smaller truck on the market HANDS DOWN

  • RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

  • only good ranger is one driven off cliff! Japs kill em or jeep

  • 2001-2003 ranger front end looks the best out of all of them IMO.

  • Does a Ranger 4 whl drive with a v6, get better gas mileage than a f150 2 whl drive

    with a v6?

  • RIP Ranger. On friday 16th the last ever ford ranger was made sad really. If only ford had put money in to making it better... I can emadgine what it would look like. It would probobly come with 2.0L ecoboost engine. Goodbye Ranger May you rest in peace in automotive history and may you roll on roads for years to come

  • @PetarVN Well, the US ranger anyways, ford still makes a ranger but it is and has been totally different then the US one....those some years of that version look pretty similar to the US one. I would freakin love to get my hands on the Non US 3.4 diesel Ranger. That thing is badass

  • hey i have a ranger the one you put as a 1997 but mine is a 96 u failed there lol but they dont change much in appearance haha good video btw!! :)

  • My wife's first truck was a 91 Ranger and unfortunately had to get rid of it but luckily we just got a 2000 and LOVE IT!! American made is the way.

  • sad that the 2009 ranger never was redesigned.

  • '97 Ford Ranger is my first vehicle, I love it. From my father's experiences with driving, If you are going to drive American the truck is the way to go, if not then stick with the foreign imports.

  • great video, awesome work!

  • Got a 98 ford ranger xlt 4x4 lifted i love it!

  • got a 2006 5spd supercab 4.0l 78k i love it...right up there with cherokees and grand cherokees

  • i have a 1987 ford ranger and i love it im never gettting rid of it

    ;)

  • Title should be 1983--onwards, the ranger is still in production until further notice. They aren't discontinuing it anymore.

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel are they gonna have the same one from over sea's?

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel I heard the last one was drove off the assembly line 12/16/11 according to the yahoo article I read. Its ashame to see in my opinion the best, most dependable compact truck be discontinued. Although Chevy did that with the s-10 and brought back a beefier Colorado. Im sure Ford will bring it back in a few years, something as reliable and dependable

  • I have a 94 with 280k miles on it. Im 24 and Its my first car. Ive never needed to do any major repairs or anything so Ive just kept whippin it! Who knows when itll die!

  • i know this video was made in 2008 and that you probably know that in the United States and Canada that 2009 still is the same body style as the 08's.. as well as the 2010's and 2011's... just thought i'd point that out.

  • Damn I been sleepin on the 89-92 rangers! Never realized how awesome they look with those headlights and that grill. I would never give up my 98 tho! Its pushin 170k, never gives a lick of trouble, and everything works just about perfect. Those 3.0 engines just don't quit!

  • 2009 ranger looks great!!! the new model here in mexico sucks, it looks like a toyota or some other japanese make pick-up

  • 83-88 ford rangers rule!!!!

  • @Hotrodx199 agreed,my da had an 87,lifted,roll bar,push guard,lights,now he has a 2005

  • I've got a 96 4x4 Single cab with the 2.3L 5spd combo. 196k mi.

I've also got a 93 2wd Ext Cab 4.0L 5spd with 340k on stock engine and trans. I bought it for parts and I'm running it in the local demo derby this summer.

  • we've had a 1989 and a 2000 =) best trucks ever

  • Bela caminhonete! Tenho uma STX '97, a última que veio para o Brasil, de 1998 para cá elas vem da Argentina.

  • 92 was the last good year after that they are kinda shitty..

  • im not a fan of small trucks. why not get a f150?

  • @counterclockwise123 I guess that it depends a lot on where you live and what you do. Here in SoCal, fitting into parking place when I go surfing is pretty key. Sometimes I do wish I had a full size, but surprisingly seldom.

  • i have a 94 as a work truck. i like the 98 to 00 models the best

  • there good

    i have a 05 xlt 3.0l v6

  • rangers (L) 94 is sorta ugly though :p still awesome trucks

  • 87 ftw!

  • chevrolet- craked head every valve rattles oil leaked every time

    FORD- First On Race Day

  • @ cmarshall1018 your'e in Ford country, buddy! if it's very quiet at night, you can hear a chevy rust.

  • this vid is terrible, i can vouch that atleast 4 of your years are wrong and most of those pics arent what the orignal trucks were

  • I drive a 1997 Ford Ranger. My parents bought it brand new off the lot. It's my daily driver and I love it. It's the oldest vehicle we have and the best we've ever had. Rangers are awesome.

  • 109 nice truck

  • I really hope they make a new gen not saying the old ones are bad but they really need a refreshening!

  • im getting a 96 ranger soon cause my nissan needs like 2-3k in repairs lol stick with American made vehicles lol

  • @oxymoron2727 Accually, all American made vehicles are crap today(Except Ford)

Chrysler(Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep) became crap around 1994-1995, GM(Chevy, GMC, Saturn, Pontiac, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile) became crap around 1994.

Nissans are known to have mixed reliability.

  • @LaugermanPROductions i have to disagree but its ok i didnt get a ford lol i ended up getting an 04 dakota and i could not be happier. ive just never seen any good come from nissan. mine had a new problem every time i fixed it, looking at the bills i spent almost 2k and it was only worth 600 bucks when i sold it :(

  • @oxymoron2727 what kind of nissan did you have?

    hows your Dakota doing?

  • @LaugermanPROductions the dakota is great, some trouble with the brakes but its at 70k so it had to happen sooner or later. i used to have a 96 sentra, green. my only regret is the dak is single cab so i cant fit all my subs lol, that sentra used to sound like an earthquake with wheels :P

  • @oxymoron2727

German cars are the master race.

  • @ChadRossLOL Thanks for your opinion! But your wrong!

  • @oxymoron2727 asian made vehicles actually last longer, you prick.

  • @jewsychicken As if there was an actual way you could judge which cars last longer. Don't call me prick.

  • the little big truck is great!

  • I have a 93 Ford ranger Splash it is not running i wish it was i miss that Truck. It is Black.

  • the 86' is dope!

  • ford rangers are the best my first car was a 1987 ford ranger then i had to sell it now i got a 2000 ford ranger both of them which run awesomely

  • Too bad that's not the 2009 American Ford Ranger. That's definitely a European model.

  • im am literally puching myself in the face. i had a 95 ranger. i traded it in for a jetta. transmission on it let go. then got a sentra. sold it to my girlfriend. now im driving a subaru forester. i fuckin miss that ranger so much. im such an idiot

  • bro what is name of this song

  • my 97 ranger has 31,000 miles and IS NEW! XD

  • My 94 Ranger has 200,000 Miles and still runs like NEW!!! Ranger is the best pick-up EVER!

  • s-10 and sonoma are better

  • @cmarshall1018 piss of and go fix your bowtie little chevy boy

  • i'm just stating a fact

  • @cmarshall1018 theyre all about the same. great little trucks.

  • I Love thse Ford Ranger pickups, they are the best-selling compact pickup in canada and the manuals are always better then the automatic ones, Ford DO NOT cancelled the ranger , ranger makes you guys lost of money

  • i dont like 1993 - 2000

  • i dont get it. why did ford make the new ranger look similar to the chevy avalanche???

  • if u think the ranger looks like an avalanche which i dont think it does but anyway the avalanche came after the ranger

  • thats not even the 2009, thats the 2010

  • sorry try again! The 2010 ranger is going to pretty much look like the 2009 one. Just safety features are going to be added.

I know because I work at the plant that produces them ;)

The one they showed is for a different country.

  • Apprently you know little about what you speak. A redesign is not the same as intermediate. Get your terms right.

Redesign - design anew, make a new design for.

Changing headlights and a dashboard isn't a redesign. It's an intermediate update.

Intermediate - Lying or being in the middle place or degree.

    Site webster.

Why don't you go to the ford website and ask them, they will tell you the same exact thing. You are just trying to twist your way out of being wrong.

  • That 83 Ranger is clean !! I love the 1st gen rangers

  • tuff little trucks, they can take alot of abuse

  • what was that song

  • a great truck that hasnt changed much over the years but i still want one..

  • you got 1989 model wrong. the '89 has the same body style as the '88, '87... all the way down. and the 2009 is also wrong. that is the 2010 version that hasnt been released yet.

  • 1983-1989 look that best to me .

  • I have had six Ford Rangers, from 1985-2009, and they have all put over 200,00 with out any problems what so ever!!!!!!

  • the ranger is dead. hahaha

  • 2001-2003 the best model

  • i have a 2003 ranger edge. I am working on it, and also trickin it out some. Does anyone know a website that sells ranger edge parts and accessories? Just for Rangers. If so, please tell. Thanks!

  • they really only changed twice in their lifespan 83-92 were pretty much the same and 93-09 are pretty much the same.

  • Comment removed

  • Technically you could say 3 times.. 83-88 the lights were into the grilll. 89-92 they had them flush with the panels and from 93 on they kept that same basic design.. Other than that Rangers own and fuck you.

  • technically your an idiot to think that was a change in design.

  • Technically fuck you just because you got proved wrong faggot.. Gen 1's had headlights in the grill, gen 2 design had them flush then finally gen 3 made the front end more oval.. Don't be a bitch because you don't know what you're talking about.. go shave your vagina now bitch..

    peace

  • Are you that big of a moron? I mean your lack of intelect speaks for itself. A 26 year old that speaks like a total moron. What have you proved me wrong in idiot? We are talk redesign. The 89-92 Ranger wasn't a redesign, you dumbass. If you want to include that then gee you miles well include 98-00 and 01-09 as well.

  • yes idiot they are all redesigns hence they are broken into generations by Ford. the 89-92 was a redesign and you can tell by the headlights and it is called a generation 2 fuck face.. what do you not get ?? every generation is the cause of the new design regardless of hows small it is. i get what you are saying but you are technicaly wrong each redesign = a new generation from the manufactuer itself . just b./c it looks similar with a redesign doesnt make it not a redesign hence generations..

  • the 89-92 was a redesign.. 83-88 was gen 1 with the headlights in the grill.. GEN 2 aka REDESIGN is 89-92. 93 and whatever breakpoint was another redesign.. thats why they're broken ito generations.. dude don't be a fucken idiot.. any new generation of vehicle = some sort (even if small) redesign..

  • Do you even know what a redesign even is? Quit acting foolish. There is no such thing as a small redesign; they are called intermediate updates that apply to an existing design. If you say 89-92 was a redesign then you miles well include 98-00 and 01-09 as well which obv werent because they are just like what the 89-92 was to the 83-88, an intermediate update.

  • do you know the definition of redesign? it is to revise/change something. The head lights were changed hence they were redesigned. How can you say theres no such thing as a small redesign as if those two words don't exist ? an intermediate update or whatever fucking term you want to cop out on still means it was CHANGED or REDESIGNED. 83-88 89-92, 93-97 and so on are all redesigns which is why they're broke into generations. Wikipedia that shit and learn something.

  • funny they all look the same

  • I liked the splash edition

  • In Europe, this car is available (through Ford) with a diesel engine only,in America its gas only.Wonder why they do that?Must be someone in either country who wants the alternative?

  • dude you should check out the european version. it is so much more sexy than the american one

  • hmm...smaken er som baken, den er delt(taste is like ur butt, its divided)But why dont they offer the 4.0 litre sohc? And vice versa, there must be someone over there who wants the 143 hp duratorq?

  • Kaptein I believe there are no diesel engines because the car manufacturers clearly want full and midsize to be 2 different classes. If america had a ranger diesel then it would be close in torgue to a larger 6cylinder F150. In europe you dont see many full size trucks for that reason.. the price for a Ranger diesel and a low power 6 cyl gas full size would probably be really close in price so Ford needed to make them in 2 classes.. a Diesel Ranger in US would be baddass. not gonna happen tho.

  • Actually some first generation Rangers were diesel in the US too, Ive seen them here on youtube.Shoudnt be too hard to get an Euro spec one though, transport from the UK is abt $1000 I think..The real reason they dont sell many diesel cars in the US is that gas is a by-product from making other types of petroleum products. The person that accidentally invented the cracking process actually got fired from the oil company for ruining a batch.(this was before cars)They just have to put it somewhere.

  • A diesel ranger would be bad ass though if they ever decided to make them in the ranger. Actually no mid size trucks in the US have a diesel option, only the full size from what I can recall.

  • As I said they do,in Europe the Ranger is available with 143 hp duratorq diesel only. You were wrong at one point in your last answer though..Actually you DO see many full size trucks (and vans) in Europe,at least here in Norway, where they can be imported as "lorries",with a very reduced taxation.(which in other cases is horrible!) The Suburban was/is very popular here, even if it takes a light truck licence to drive them.99% of them have diesels, the rest are converted to LPG.

  • Kaptein I meant to say there are no midsize diesel engines sold in the USA. I know there are in Europe but not the US sadly.

  • Yes I know, its too bad,but it shouldnt be too hard to look up someone who trades in European cars on the net,and get one anyway. The big car companies dont sell American cars here either, not even Chevrolet, but there are businesses that specializes in American cars. Maybe there is an opposite equivalent somewhere in America?

  • i have a 87 and it is called baby blue but poor baby blue has to get an oil pump so i cant t=drive him till then poor fella FORD RANGERS 1986-1992 ARE the BEST

  • Ford needs to upgrade the Ranger. They are great little trucks, but i wish they had a little more power.

  • That "2004" ranger was a 2005. '04 had a different grille, and the "2007" was the 2009 that was the same photo from the 09 ranger brochure. And that was not the American 09 ranger.

  • indeed sir, this guy needs to do some more research

  • gotta ask you guys that have this truck, can u fit a medium/large dog in the back seats of the access cab and such?

  • i own an 83' out lasted my 87 nissian maximum which is probably now in the shape of a metal box.

  • i got a 97 with 200k miles, the engine runs like brand new. routine maintenance was the least of my worries. oil change one a year. those 2.3l engines are tough as hell

  • i got a 96 with 198.000 miles still runs like new

  • Proud owner of a 1998 ford ranger with 48,441 miles for only being a 4.0 v6 its got hell of a lot of power.

  • proud owner 2008 ranger sport 4x4 .. shes a mighty bitch :D

  • The Ranger is dead by 2010 in North America at least, the F-100 concept will replace it and it will be built on the 09 F-150's frame.

  • not true i asked the guys at the houston auto show when i had gone and they said its going to be a brand new ford ranger but not dead they will keep makeing them it was a rumor that they where going to stop in 2009 but thats not the case it seems they seem to be saleing good

  • So you asked some guys at an auto show? Those guys wouldn't really know all they do is rep a ford product. Allan Mually has already stated that the Ford Ranger is going to be discontinued in the U.S.. I think he would know considering he is the CEO.

  • sure is stupid that they would stop saleing a truck that has been doing good for 26 years o well i guess your right i guess the sales guys at ford dont no shit

  • Whats your def of good? Ford Ranger pickup declined nearly 31 percent in December from the same month a year ago.

  • I'm not crazy about the 2009 Ranger; I was perfectly happy with the incremental changes being made. That '09 looks too much like the competition. I always thought the Ranger had a good looking, tough appearance.

  • that aint gonna be the 2009 ranger its gonna be tha same as da 2008 for at least 1 more year possibly through 2010

  • Proud owner of a 1994 Ford Ranger with 85,000 miles on it, I got it from my grandfather and its great.

  • I have a 1994 Ford Ranger with 153,000 miles on it and I got mine from my grandpa too.

  • that's crazy, i bet it still runs like a top

  • it sure does...looks like one too.

  • thats good ford ranger are very good..i have a 2006 ranger..but since you got yours from your grandpa yours is even better..something you can always remember..1994 RANGER IS very nice to me..keep doin what ya do..

let them people hate white they at the gas station eveyr 3 seconds..and your on the road..lol

  • you must never drive that thing

  • My grandfather drove it to work and up to camp. His work is almost less then a mile down the street from his house and our camp is about 20 miles away from his house. When I got the tuck 3 years ago it had 65,000 miles on it,and since i have had it it has a little over 90,000. So since 1994 He put 65,000 on it and in 3 short years I put on 25,000 on it. I got a good pace going haha

  • fantastic truck series.

I recently bought a 2002 Ford Ranger, and not regretting buying it at all.

I previously had a 1992 GMC Sonoma, had to sell it due to stalling issues.

    Nice vid btw.

  • ive got a 2002 3.0 i found a stroker kit for it but i want to knw wat all i need to do to my truck b4 i can do it

  • I love the ford ranger I hope I'll get a 2009 ford ranger.

  • There has always been a Ranger in my family, the first was an 87 bed short with I-4 engine, the second was an 89 with the Cologne V6 2.9 and it was long bed, the third was a brand new 96 with the 2.3 liter engine, the fourth is a 98 SuperCab, 2.5 liter engine Finally a 2001 SuperCab 4x4 with the 4.0liter, it is worth noting that all had manual transmissions. We still keep the 98 and the 01. For me this is the best compact truck ever, the most durable and offer the best value for the money.

  • Ranger/broncoII kicks the shit out of the s10 pickup and s10 blazer in reliability and lifespan. RANGER AND FORD 4 LIFE. my cuzin had a ford 4.9 straight 6 swapped into his 88 ranger. let me tell everyone the 4.9 straight 6 should have been stock with the ranger/broncoII

  • I love my 88 ranger

  • very nice video.the ranger is the best truck.

  • too bad the ranger you have for 2009 isnt the 2009. the 09 is the same as the 08. that one is the concept version. i have to 09, and thats not it. plus why would they redo the whole body style just to stop making them?

  • that ranger is only being built in other

    countries like australia and germany.

  • the newer ones look great. to me, rangers are great trucks that I really like but I would never own one... I dont like them THAT much...

  • Ranger are definatly the best small truck ever, because i have had 3 and i still have one now. i have known a lot of people who have them and never had any trouble, they just last forever.

  • the 2009 for ranger is a concept what will never be put in production and 2009 will be the last production year of the ranger. ford is planning to make a rebirth of it but with a different name, codenamed P525 and might be baged as F-100 and it will be enlarged to a mid size pickup to compete with the dodge dakota and the toyota tacoma

  • it already can beat the dodge dakota and tacoma

  • bad65stang:

Ranger were first made in 1983, althought you are somewhat right, in 67 they did make a F-150 ranger, wasnt a real ranger though

  • damn the 1994 ranger looks bad!

  • I'm Sorry

  • wy only 83 cuz i think the 67 was the first year

  • in about a week im going to break the 1,000,000 mile barrier

  • the 83 ranger has an experimental motor only 500 of the motors were produced the motors stats:33 in city,41 on highway,200hp,4 speed tranny 500 produced only 78 known are left in existence

  • COOL

  • Felicidades muy buen video viva ford ranger splash!! tengo una 1997

  • The 2009 Ford Ranger looks like a central american Ranger

  • i did have a 1975 jeep it had a good motor but the body was rusted 2 the core then i had a grenn 1992 ford ranger it was good but it was abused b4 i got it so it didn't perform 2 well i would make a vid of the truck but i can't find my camera charger

  • WHO! thats a lot of miles thats a pretty tough truck you have there

  • i love ford rangers i got a 1983 ranger it had 312,436 miles when i got it now it has 979,700 miles i took a trip across america from louisiana to califonia then to new york then back
