  • Poor Affirmed. So under rated.

  • @gotch09 any horse that beat Spectacular Bid was a great horse and that is what Affirmed did to S.B. as a 3yo.

  • @Blacknightsjester Try comparison. Affirmed at 4 YO versus SB at 3YO...Affirmed will win most likely every time. Both horses at 4 YO, based on their respective performances at that age is, in my opinion, a toss-up. I still cant understand folks who try to downgrade a great 3 YO beaten by a great 4 YO.

  • secretariat was BEASTLY! he deserves to be honored more than people view him today same with ruffian

  • there are a lot of chesnut winners for sure, but it's purely statistics, there are more chesnut thoroughbreds than other colors....SIr Barton, Wirlaway, Omaha,Assault, Sec and Affirmed :) Gallant Fox and Citation were bay, War Admiral, Count Fleet, and Seattle Slew were brown. I wish we could have another triple crown winner!

  • LOL...Calling Man O' War a bay colt is like calling an Ocean a creek. Someone should have engaged his brain before he put his mouth (or fingers) in gear. Go look up Man O" War on Google or Wikipedia and you will see he was the first "Big Red". A chestnut colt. Secretariat was the 2nd "Big Red". Both great horses, and both CHESTNUT COLTS!!!!!!!!

  • MAN O WAR was chestnut not bay

  • Sorry - Man o' War was NOT a bay. Here is the entry made in the August Belmont's Nursery Stud book, when he was born: "Mch 29, 1917 - Mahubah foaled ch colt by Fair Play."The "ch" is an abbreviation for "chestnut."

Here is how the National Museum of Horse Racing - Hall of Fame describes him, "Chestnut colt foaled in 1917. Died in 1947."

Bottom line - bay? No way.

  • man o war didnt win the triple crown but his son did

  • Very cool...love looking at those beauties..thanks for posting

  • My something-great grandfathers horse won the triple crown :) before it was called the triple crown I think.....not sure what it was called.....

Yes and by the way to the people who are taking to such vulgar insults, it's time to grow up.

  • there are the eleven magnificents Who will be the twelve?

  • I don't think Frank Whitley would have even raced her in the KY Derby.

  • Why are some the people sliding into such vulgar, infantile name calling. If you don't like the video, flag it and move along. What a bunch of cry babies.

  • i find it sad when people take the time to make a historical video and others ruin it with childish comments..

any how..finalthreshhold i have one of affirmeds grandsons. :) hes retired now.. but a sweet horse.

  • Congratulations on having such a wonderful horse. Unfortunately I'm in suburbia and have to be content with 3 dogs.

  • THE BEST VIDEO EVER!! go here freegreatmovies[dot]com to download all the movies you want

  • Gallant Fox was a beautiful horse

  • As much as I love the Biscuit...he is not apart of this video because he didn't compete in the Triple Crown let alone win it. This video is specifically for Crown winners.

  • That was an amazing race, but he didnt win the triple crown.

  • @FinalThreshold

that was a stakes race and not part of the triple crown

  • @FinalThreshold you can not measure champions by just the triple crown as many horses have been champions (like seabiscuit, among others) and have not won the triple crown.

  • @elianan10 The issue is that #1 - the TC is the ultimate test of the 3YO and, thus, most of the top horses are TC winners. #2 - The hard truth is that Seabiscuit lost 67% of the races in which he was entered. That record, alone, pushes him far down the list of great horses.

  • seabicuit isnt in this vid because he didnt win the triple crown. he didnt even race in it. this vid is for triple crown winners.

  • What an effin tard!!!

  • Alright I'm getting tired of this. You need to shut the fuck up, because as you can see, I've already been replied to 3 times. I don't need your sorry ass comment to suffice. I also posted that comment a month ago, so by now I know the answer. You need to shut the fuck up and stop acting so high and mighty you excretionatory waste of space. Don't waste my time ever again you wretched waste of egg and sperm. YOU ARE A MISTAKE

  • Your mom didnt seem to think so when she was sucking my dick! Btw...tell her I dont have change for a quarter so next weeks shag is gonna have to be on the house! TARD!!

  • Oh wow , thats a good one I guess, but you forgot that your dad was sucking your moms dick and you attempted to suck my dads dick you little bastard. You arent worth the bed that you were accidentally made on you bitch. You were a result of a mother who couldnt keep her legs closed at her middle school dance arent you? And then she differed to go to high school because she was a cum-burping raging polytheistic slut. Wow, I have your whole life story pinned down dont I?

  • The best part of you ran down your moms ass and wound up as the brown stain on the mattress!! You are fucking retarded thinking Seabiscut won the triple crown. You are obviously an authority on everything and know absolutely NOTHING! Go back to 3rd grade tard ... get an education...then amaze us with your knowledge. Til then..shut it!

  • #1 Get your attitude straight. #2 I hate your fucking uppity way of speaking and your exclamation marks. #3 I hate whinny egotistical bitches like you. Why don't you just go die where you were supposed to, in your mother's womb you abortion surviving bastard. I hate you self-righteous street walking side-ways faggots that try to tell me what I did wrong with a bad attitude. I'm well aware of my mistake you asswhole and I was corrected thrice. Please respond because I'm not done tearing you up...

  • Tearing me up? HAHAHA!! You're dumber in the head than a pig is in the ass!! You stupid son of a bitch Seabiscut never ran in any of the triple crown races...which Id be willing to bet your whose ass mamma...that you dont even know wtf the 3 races of the triple crown are! YOU BORE ME TARD! PS...feel free to suck a wet fart outta my ass anytime you get the urge!!

  • nice talkin to your brittish teeth havin' Tard ass too!

  • youre dumber than a day old monkey! Seabiscut.....DUH!!!!

  • Oh really, you spelled you're wrong... You sir have never and will never be loved, it pains me to say this, but you don't even know who your MOTHER is. End this now because your insults go nowhere. Quite frankly, I don't think you even understand half of the language that I've administered to this page... Don't waste my time you post-op tranny (that was for my personal gain)

  • @TriCkY4WiCkEdStYlE Er, that was the match race, and while an amazing race, Seabiscuit wasn't a TC winner.

  • @TriCkY4WiCkEdStYlE he was not a triple crown winner loser and stop saying bad words

  • @TriCkY4WiCkEdStYlE i have to agree that Seabiscuit is one of the greatest horses in history and his story is amazing. He is my fav ;)

  • @TriCkY4WiCkEdStYlE Hey RETARD If you were smart enough to see that the top says TRIPLE CROWN WINNERS!!!!! Seabiscuit DIDN'T WIN THE TRIPLE CROWN!!!! The maker of this video has the facts ALL right!!!!!

  • @TriCkY4WiCkEdStYlE What a friggin idiot! Did you READ the title? Seabiscuit was a great horse, but he din't win a single triple crown race. Bonehead.

  • Hmm - am I wrong or are reds (chestnuts) not overrepresented among the top horses and triple crown winners? Citation, Secretariat, Affirmed - think also Man o War.

  • lol yeah, there are a ton of great chestnuts. :D

Man O' War was bay. Big, bay and beautiful :D

  • Final Threshold man o war was not bay. sorry to burst your bubble

  • @FinalThreshold Man O' War was a chestnut

  • @FinalThreshold man o war wasnt a bay he was a chestnut why do u think they call him BIG RED idiot

  • @FinalThreshold

I'm sorry to correct you but Man o' War was Chestnut. That's why he's called "Big Red"...

  • @RoseGreyThoroughbred Man o' war was definitely bay, SECERTARIAT was called BIG RED. yah.

  • @FinalThreshold Man O War was a chestnut, they called him Big Red

  • @jdalex51 Man O War was not a Chestnut. Secretariat was, and HE was called Big Red.

  • @LoveMyHorseShazam no obviously you know nothing about Man O War, He ran in 1919-1920, HE was a chestnut, they called him big red... I'm not saying Secretariat wasn't a chestnut, its very obvious he was and I know they also called him big red

  • @jdalex51 ....OHHH... I was thinking of WAR ADMIRAL.....Sorry about that. And, you don't need to be bitchy about it and put yourself on a pedestal......I admit I confused the color of War Admiral with Man O War. Soo, apologies.....

  • @LoveMyHorseShazam I wasn't trying to be bitchy and I did not put myself on a pedestal, Man O War is just one of my all time favorite horses and I was merely correcting you, sorry if I was coming off like that but that wasn't my intentions

  • @FinalThreshold

Man O' War was gorgeous chestnut himself I have to say xD But War Admiral was Seal Brown.

  • Janosita no i know lots bout racers and man o war didn't run the Kentucky derby. which he needed to win the Triple Crown.

  • @Janosita citation and man o' war were both bay!!

  • @NicanorBarbaroLover cuz they call so many bay horses "big red" right? Man O War was a chesnut, who looked very simliar to Sec....hence the shared nickname....

He looks sort of bay in SOME of the photos but remember photo technology in 1920 was hardly what it is now

  • SEABISCUIT!

  • I hear the catchy song and i see all the great horse listed here! But america knows and you know as well the real champion among champions Is Seabiscuit not as pretty not as tall but a fighter all the way from the start to the end! he will always be americas horse. What he did to war admiral said to be the race of the century is proof the little guy doesnt always finish last. The name Seabiscuit will go down in history never to be forgotten!

  • He was an amazing horse. :D What about Mine that Bird!? That was amazing! He sis the same thing in the Preakness, another 100 yards and I bet he would have caught up to Rachel. But I'm not complaining she lost, I hoped she would win.

  • @FinalThreshold I agree about Mine That Bird. My uncle's 2nd cousin co-owns him also.

  • @auntpittypattys Did I read you right? There is only one, and the choice isn't even close. Big Red would have ate the Biscuit for lunch. Look at the times. It ain't even close.

  • @auntpittypattys Does it really matter which horse is the best? We each have our own opinion, you can't tell us who is the best.

  • @auntpittypattys I'm with you on that!

  • The greatest race horse in history..Secretariat. His greatness will never be seen again. The three horses that could have won the Triple Crown...Man O' War, Barbaro and Ruffian.

Big Brown wasn't in that league.

  • Why was Assault called a crippled champion?

  • I have no idea. XD You would have to be a heartless bastard to race an actual crippled horse. But that business is filled with them so, I wouldnt run it past them. Ha, I've lost my tolerance for the racing community, yes its thrilling to see live. But I'd much rather watch horses gallop on their own accord.

  • Me too.

  • He injured his hoof when he was a young horse. He had a limp or something when he walked but ran good. They Gave him the name"The Club footed comet"

  • Great montage--but War Admiral was not a Triple Crown winner. His owner refused to send him "west" to the Kentucky Derby.

  • Do u mean Man O War?

  • no war admiral did win the derby! wat rtalking about theres even a video on youtube of it!

  • Are you on crack? He won the Triple Crown in 1937. Do your homework.

  • Great Video!!! To bad Big Brown and

Barbaro could't be added to the list.

  • Great video!

I look up to these guys!

My absolute favorite is Secretariat. The Superhorse!!

    But theyre all great! =)

  • wheres ruffian!!!!??

  • Ruffian won the Filly Triple Crown. Ruffian didn't run in the Kentucky Derby because she was recupirating from an injury and was not quite ready.

  • y was assault called the CRIPPELED champion

  • During his career he suffered many medical troubles. Bone splints, knee and ankle problems not to mention he was a bleeder.

  • I look back on all the great an not so great race horse and I realize. Each one lived life to the fullest and I'm going to do just that. We can all learn a thing or two from them!

  • Well said. :)

What a challange the triple crown is.

  • OoOoOoOoOo!!! Steve Cauthen!!! My second cousin ;)

  • o whos that?

  • who sings?

  • Queen

  • Nice vid! Barbaro was going to be on the list of Triple Crown winners too :(.

  • I wish he owuld have pulled through too. Not just in the Preakness and Belmont but his life.

  • Poor Sir Barton was treated awful after his racing days. RIP sweet boy.

  • He was? Shoot I didn't hear about it, what happened. :(

  • The hoof would forever be deformed, and the colt developed an unattractive limp to accommodate the odd shape of his foot; however, the "Club-footed Comet," as he would later be dubbed, showed no signs of abnormality when he was at a full gallop. Throughout his career, Assault would also overcome kidney, splint bone, ankle, knee and bleeding problems.

  • Good post here. Nice pics Queenster!

  • this is awesome---thanks for posting such a great piece of work! i saw big brown saturday at the preakness in baltimore (WOW!) and am making that trip to belmont to hopefully witness history. i have suuuch a good feeling about this colt! godspeed, big brown!!!

  • :D Aww, thank you!

Sweet!!! I bet its gonna be worth the trip too, have fun. :0

  • Looks like you'll be adding Big Brown to this video in 3 weeks! :-D

  • I hope so! XD

Heck, he was still fresh after the Preakness, I think he's gonna be pretty hard to beat.

  • We may never see another triple crown winner.

Look what happened to the last derby-preakness winners. Some fucking horse would win by a nose the last split-second to spoil things. This always seems to happen. It's a jinx.

  • It does, and I hope this doesn't happen, but sometimes the owners get payed big bucks to throw the race. In Big Brown's case, I hope that isn't so, I also hope that he doesn't get hurt, no, I pray that he doesn't.

  • Loved your video....such beautiful and excellent thoroughbreds....the best!

  • Thank you!!!! I agree, they are gorgeous! XD

  • Amazing video! Will we ever see another Triple Crown winner? Lets hope so!

  • lol I hope so too, I was so sure Barbaro could do it but, it's just so sad, :(

  • It's so sad about Barbaro!! Great video, thanks.

  • These are the true, real athletes. They make history, not money. They earn fans and keep them. They have spirit, not greed. And they dont let you down, even when they lose.

  • I couldn't have said it better. :D

  • Thanks.

  • Very, very nice.

  • :D Thanks.

  • Fantastic video!

Such poetry in motion, love it!

  • :D Thanks.

Horses are the best, never cease to amaze me.

  • Your screen name puts me in the mind of one of my favorite horses of all time...At The Threshold. 3 guesses what my favorite is?? lol Great video..ty for posting!!
