Beautiful piece. The most beautiful in the whole movie, even moreso than the main theme which is wonderfully composed in and of itself. This scene taught me a lesson as it was similiar to one of my own life experiences with a beautiful woman. It taught me that when a woman gives you the opportunity to approach her and get to know her, you as a man must act fast and not delay. Women love to be swept off their feet. The longer you wait, the more chance of loser her forever.
@TeamEdward115 I agree. I think in a real life, any woman would have chosen Redford. Harrelson's character, though sincere and absolutely loved Diana, was a pathetic person who showed too much weakness and instability.
I'll always remember that sequence, a millionaire playing a haunting melody on a millionaire's turntable and narrating an episode from his past without a single visual flashback. The way Robert Redford spoke those lines made such an indelible impression of the narrated episode on the viewer's mind that a whole visual sequence in flashback could not have equalled the effect. John Barry's music music superbly complemented the scene. Thanks for sharing.
If you like this, please listen to 'Somewhere In Time' John Barry. Its amazing. If you want to watch the film, please go out and grab yourself the biggest box of tissues, it's a weeper! Christopher Reeve and Jayne Seymour. You will never ever forget that film as long as you live. x
Thanks for your response. I had this soundtrack years ago on cassette, but don't remember this suite. Going to Amazon RIGHT NOW to see if I can find it there. BIG John Barry fan here!
Does any-one know how to OR where to find the exact piece from the movie ???? This is the piece of music but slightly different when John(redford) is telling Diana(moore) about the Lady on the bus ........ Thanks if anybody knows coz i just love this soundtrack but would love to find that particular piece ...... x
Musica maravilhosa, minha preferida do filme!!! Esse filme me marcou demais, e me ensinou que certas coisas o dinheiro não compra nunca.
