  • You guys were so lucky to have such great music...as compared to garbage we have now. Wish I lived back then.

  • "Good night Irene" and "The Tennessee Waltz" were incredibly popular.  Way back in 1950-51 it seemed that wherever you went (stores, restaurants, etc.) those songs were playing. Good times...good memories.

  • "Goodnight, Irene" was a huge favorite in tavern jukeboxes. You walk by outside, and you can hear it playing inside; oftentimes the drinkers would join in. They loved to sing to this one.

  • @renew2day You are correct, but there was so much more good music then. It would take the Korean "Police Action" to screw things up, (Along with 4 years of my life.)
