Yes It hurt but now I can breath. Those splints were put in while I was knocked out to keep the airway open while healing. They had to come out at some point.
@linedriver69 I know the feeling "very well", as I had Rhinalplasty done on my nose back in 1989...I had one of the worst cases of an irregualrly high hemoglobin which nearly cost me my life.
The popcicle sticks (so to speak) which were put in my nose, caused a rupture, to which gel foam was inserted to stop the internal bleeding.
i was rushed to the hospital where I filled 3 4x4 specimen trays full with blood from my running nose.
@MrSilicon605 The gel foam, which was once in my sphenois sinus, now was sucked eustachian tube and then was lodged in my esophogus track blocking my air way.
My doctor arrived 20 mins later to wheel me into a private room in the ER hospital to remove the blocked gel foam in my air way.
I was going into mld shock by this time and could see the doctor with a determined yet grim look on his face, as he was getting ready to try and extract the clot through my mouth.
@MrSilicon605 my hands were shaking as I was going futher into shock, at which time, the doctor slowy pulled out a 4" x 1.5" long gel foam clot which was saturated with blood from all the internal bleeding i suffered.
The doctor later relayed to me, how this was his worst case of bleeding internally that he ever experienced in 20yrs. the bleeding was brought on by the pressure of the packing sticks, coupled with my hemoglobin working so hard.
That looks really painful!!!! I am hurting just watching this, I am definitely using a nose right I really cant go through all that pain and down time. did it effect your breething???

Very helpless feeling indeed.
