@07foxmulder They may have made great sounds out of these lyrics but the song, indeed all of Achtung Baby was co-written with a penniless unknown whom they then refused to pay. Adam Clayton persuaded the others not to pay her. He admitted this to her in 1997.

Agree with you there Fox, even if I were to add that 93's 'Lemon' was not a mediocre album at all. After that, I have never bought another U2 recording. Fame and fortune does come with a price and U2 seems to have forgotten what it means to be musical artists. They are now nothing more than propogandists for the 'system'. Bought and paid for! How pathetic they have become. And this is from someone who had followed them from 1982 when they were making albums like 'War'!!

@waddietwo I thought the early stuff was dismal and it is a good thing there are not too many copies of their early work out there. Their manager propelled them along nicely. The Joshua Tree is a good album but it was a brilliant marketing trick that made it sell 25 million copies. Paul Mcguinness, their manager, heard that it had sold 3 million copies. He put in orders for another 15 million copies and then told the media that orders were huge. It was a gamble and it worked.
