The Gospels of Jesus Christ are based on love, salvation from sin, forgiveness, mercy and His resurrection. Anyone can call himself or herself a Christian and do awful things in the name of Christ. I come from Germany and as far as I know this is the only country that prosecutes the denial of the Holocaust. In my limited knowledge, however, some religions are easier to twist that way than others. I dont know why no one ever mentions Arab slavery. I only found out about it recently, but it was a big thing that lasted far longer than European/American slavery.

Soviet Russia was Marxist (materialism and religion understood as an opiate being part of their belief structure). Well, what did they do? I am protesting a march for "Palestinian rights" on Saturday, October 9 at 10:30 in Columbia, SC starting at the corner of Senate and Lincoln Streets. I come from Germany and as far as I know this is the only country that prosecutes the denial of the Holocaust. It is seen as a very special German responsibility to ensure that nobody can manage to trivialize Nazi crimes (eg any kinds of Nazi symbols are prohibited). It has been subject of discussions, but was confirmed by our Supreme Court. I'm actually not really disturbed by it. Freedom of speech can never be absolute. There are countless other limitations (eg insulting a policeman^^).

I'd suggest there are radicals in all ideologies, even atheism and agnostism. Don't have any data to prove it. But I do believe zeolots can use organized religion to control people. It's easy to tell when a sect is going that way. They always use heavy judgement with threat of punishment either in the here and now or afterlife rather than focusing on love, peace and promoting a society structured in caring for one another.

QUESTION: 2:25 there is NO religion of peace? that is pretty extreme statement. I would LOVE to see someone do the homework to prove such a radical statement.

@blkman200000 I think there are many people within all religions who are people of peace, but I'm also certain, but don't have data to prove it, there are also people who can twist the words of any religion to support violence. In my limited knowledge, however, some religions are easier to twist that way than others. Christianity and Islam are two of the easiest that I know of, because they are so easily interpreted as "We are the only way and we must convert you"

I dont know why no one ever mentions Arab slavery. I only found out about it recently, but it was a big thing that lasted far longer than European/American slavery.

Arab/muslims hold many slaves today. Non-muslim citizens of countries with fast-growing muslim minorities should learn about this. Islam is incompatible with other cultures and is in fact literally at war with all that is not islamic. Islams highest example was a slave trader and did many other very troubling things.

I believe many many people have racists feelings, even if very slight.
Religions are used to provide a legitimate story that provide a way to unite against other races, without admitting to being a racist. Lets face it nearly always a race = a certain religion, its no coincidence.

Do you believe all racism is evil? If the worlds population suddenly lost all racial and cultural preferences, the distinct races and cultures would cease to exist. Oddly enough, it seems that people are encouraged to celebrate diversity by literally destroying it.

& many people use religion to propagate love & cooperation. And, yes, racism is inbred into us because those of us alive today survived by beating out competitive tribes. We also survived because we loved our tribes and cooperated with the people within them. So there is a tendency to hate unfamiliar people that we must overcome today to survive because many of the ultra rich see the rest of us as different and despicable and they get us to fight amongst each other to enhance their power.

and the USA has their slaves--they're called wage slaves. They are people who are paid so little they have no opportunity for a decent life. There are also those millions of people around the world that our corporations use like slaves by manipulating their governments so they have no chance for success. Today Americans pay large portions of the fruits of their labor in the form of taxes, premiums and interest to make the ultra rich even richer and more powerful.
