  • My Mother is the only christian that I respect. All other chrisitans really think they are superior and only preach and never are open to learning other cultures or spiritualities. They are closed off and know it alls...You put it exactly! I was a christian and think Jesus was right on! But as I grew up chrisitans were the LEAST like the Jesus I learned about. I hate christianity it is a blasphemy of Jesus and a perversion of the spirit. And my mother is the ONLY christian that I respect.

  • @theotherdumbblonde I have a friend that feels the exact same way about Christians in general and his mom. I'm so sorry that was your experience.

  • It would be great if more Christians started promoting virtues like compassion and charity. As an atheist and a secular humanist I find it delightfully ironic just how many Christians are filled with hate that I run into on a daily basis.

Everyone, regardless of religion, should act to promote human dignity and the common good rather than only loving members of their particular world view.

  • As an non-theist I respect what you are saying. There are many people - especially on youtube - who do not behave as christians but still somehow proudly hold the badge up for all to see while simultaneously sinning and hating others.

I might be atheist but I know the holy books as well as any christian.

to be honest it only galvanizes one's resolve that there is no god when people quote from the bible and then spit in one's face for not having the same belief.

  • love is a verb.. what can 1 say...

  • Tjae - yep, it truly is a verb. :)

  • Dear bondservant40,liked your message mostly but there was one thing, Christmas is not Jesus birthday ,early Christians didn't celebrate Christmas. Please sister read Jeremiah 10:1,2,3,4,5.The book of Leviticus 23 tells us which feasts to keep, YHWH is our father in heaven, he instructs us what to celebrate and how to behave. The old testament still governs us except for only a few things. Christmas was originally a pagan holiday promoted to Christians by the Roman Catholic Church.Google Mitras.

  • yackyick, you are absolutely right about Christmas being a pagan holiday. As I answered in an earlier comment, my only intent on mentioning Christmas is it is in the CHRISTmas season that people are even more acutely aware of the behavior of believers. Thanks for your input, and God bless you! :)

  • You're obviously a good person. That is the key for me. Character is what St. Peter whats, not dogma.

Being open to God and Jesus and yes, all the rest, takes slowing life down enough to build some sense of distance between self and the world. This is done through character building. I think we are born connected to God. I like Buddha, Krishna, and all the rest but I 'know' Jesus, our Guy and pipeline to God. Yes, reading the Bible did indeed turn my cultural connection into true hearing.

  • John 13:35

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

    Agape, Donny

  • Donny - brother - thank you! :D

I meant to include that one in the video. John 13:35 says it all doesn't it? You're wonderful brother. You demonstrate this verse all the time. May we all..... God bless.

  • "Woe to those who are stumbling blocks"? Refresh my memory on where thats stated please. Christ was a stumbling block to those who would refuse Him, but I don't recall what you're refering to.

  • Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

    (1Co 8:13)

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

I am not using this forum to debate Scripture, so this is my last comment on the subject. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

  • oops, and Matthew 18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

  • I dont believe for a second that anything I do, or you do, can change anyones heart ... Nobody comes to Christ unless the Father draws them. If He wills that a person comes to Christ, then there's nothing I can do to prevent that...or for that matter help it in the end. Yes, I may be used to move them closer sooner, but if its ordained, then its going to happen, count on it! Is it possible that we flatter ourselves alittle too much sometimes?...

  • Hi DittoGlen. I am in 100% agreement - only the Father draws people to Him. That's biblical. The Bible also says "woe to those that are stumbling blocks" I didn't imply we could change a heart - we are certainly not the Holy Spirit! We are required though to look like Christ and walk in truth and love. Many that call themselves Christians are only stumbling blocks to non believers. Thanks for your comment. God bless.

  • I would agree with that thinking, we don't have Thanksgiven in the UK, but Christmas is just around the corner.

I'm sure in the USA - The Salvation Army will be having a Christmas Present Appeal 2008 (thats if you have The Salvation Army in the USA)

See early next month; I'm going to buy a few Christmas gifts for people who are worse of then me and hand them into the The Salvation Army centre in my town.

Christmas is about family and friends, but if you can make someone else's Christmas.

  • cont'

And, that means abandoning the [pagan] traditions of men.

  • Hi Tigerlamb, what I was trying to say is that the whole world knows he holiday of Christmas. This is the "Christmas season" - there has to be some examples of Christilike behavior. -On Christmas celebrations, I won't debate. But we don't have a tree - never did. Don't do the Easter bunny either. Never told our kids there was a Santa. That wasn't my point though, my point was Christlike behavior in the season (pagan or not) that bears His name. - God bless :)

  • My only concern was that Christmas was mentioned, without mentioning that it's pagan and has nothing to do with Jesus.

Even if it is a side-point to your main point, it is important to include the truth that Xmas has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. Hence my comment;).

    God bless you. xo

  • Good video, sister.

Only one jink. Jesus Christ (only begotten Son of God Almighty - God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob) has nothing whatsoever to do with the Christmas pagan traditions inculcated into the church over three hundred years after Christ was born. Nowhere in the Bible are we told Jesus exact birth date. Nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to celebrate Jesus' birthday.

As for me and my house, we will serve God Almighty, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

  • Thank you so much sister in Christ! We are called to be Salt and Light (did a video by that title on the other channel). It breaks my heart that any progress I may have made with Tommy could have been ruined by this action.

  • You are right ON!
