well I guess you could possibly do it, but it would require some better cutting tools and would take a heck of a lot longer just to get small bits of metal to come off. you would have to apply as little preasure as possible. This is really designed for softer metals like aluminum and brass. Plastics are about the best for this though. even woods.

considering it wont work with heavier metals what would be required to make a gun, no. The motor on this unit will only work with softer metals.
