Gluttural voices make this epic pieces fucking great. There's a lot of rage and anger. Katatonia with the clean lyrics transpire more depression and sorrow. I think there is no comparaisons although musics are quite similars. Come on guys just enjoy

@silanarchy respect your view - but just wondering if you have heard any of the old OT material. Both albums (quite old now) have gutturals and screams throughout. There are softer parts in the albums (like this one) but no vocals appeared in those parts (apart from a few strange effects). The fact is OT is specific project that has gutturals only. The only member from the orginal band in this is Norman, he wanted to keep it OT

Personally I am not really sure if this should be called OT - and there are things about this album as a whole which fail compare to original OT.. nethertheless inasmuch as I love Jonas' perfect clear smooth vocals I understand an OT album with clean vocals is never OT

I dunno how to feel about this... it sounds like the heavier contemporary commercialized Katatonia with metal vocals and a sense of melodrama... thus it ends up sounding like a sped up Swallow The Sun... it doesn't pull your heartstrings like their first two albums... I hope it's not the lack of Jonas Renkse. But its not bad. I just hope the rest of the album will be like their older material.

For me this song is a joke in comparison to, for example, Ephemeral relating to doom...maybe the rest of the album will be more like this, otherwise it's another album which is nice to listen to but doesn't give me that fucking feeling which the first albums gave me...

@darkbarrage99 I think it will not pull your heart strings because it lacks Jonas, but it will be a good one sure. This song is also good but more like a commercial doom metal song than October Tide, but some leads remind me of old Katatonia somehow... We'll see, let's keep up the hope :)
