Those that follow Jesus are considered (according to the Bible) dhildren of promise just as Abrahams son was a promise to Abraham from God and also children of faith, as Abraham had to have total trust and faith that God was good despite the circumstances and God being the good God that he is did not have Abraham to sacrifice his son.
God did stop Abraham before he killed his son, however realistically this story teaches one to have complete faith in what he perceives as God's will. There are numerous stories of people murdering and claiming that God told them to do so, how can a person say that was not God's will when they are not the objective first person listener to begin with?
How is it moral to listen to what one believes as God's voice to kill their own son, how does one distinguish God's voice from the Devil's? If I heard voices in my head that told me to kill my son, I would have mistaken them as the Devil's, however this story of Abraham would persuade me to do otherwise and faithfully listen to whatever immoral voice inside my head, because it demonstrates that God can request one to do such an immoral act.
God never again in the Bible asks anyone to sacrifice a child for him. God calls Abraham his friend so God already knew that abraham knew his voice. Sacrificing children to pagen gods was not uncommon in those days so I think one thing God is doing is distinguishing the difference between himself and their pagen gods that he did not want this practice done and he talks about how he hates child sacrifice several times in the old testament.

95girl08 this is how i interpreted the video. The first part of the re-inactment was the story of Abraham when god asked him to kill his son as a sacrifise to him. The second part of the re-inactment is the story david when saul was trying to kill him. He ended up still being the king like God said he would. The 3rd part is of Jesus going to the cross and paying for all of man's sins. The next part I think is when the deciples of Jesus go to the church and get filled with the Holy Spirt.

great acting, a little confusing as a script though, too much movement hard to tell whats going on, could be due to the filming angles and stuff, perhaps sitting in one spot in the audience would've been different...also, its wicked hard to take an actor seriously when he's lip syncing to a girls voice....at least for me...I know you weren't looking for my opinion, but that;s what these things are all about lol

I think what it is is that David had to stand up against something, someone, that was much bigger than he was to triumph. You see that he was swinging the sling, supposedly at Goliath, they were swinging there slings at abortion.
i've probably watched this a dozen times, and didn't really get it either, but this time i did! the first part shows three characters in the Bible running their races. the one with the blue sash is Abraham, sacrificing to God the son that he loved. the second, with the gold sash, is David, who beats Goliath and overcomes great odds to become king.
the third person is Jesus. enough said. in the second part of the skit, it shows modern day people struggling to stay on the path set before them by God. the first guy loves his girlfriend, but must be willing to sacrifice the relationship to pursue God. this is paralleled to Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac.
the second group is standing against the giant of abortion. against great odds, they topple it (this has yet to happen, but i have no doubt that God's will is that is does), just as David overcame great things to become king. the third example shows someone being pressured by the world to do what they think is right. but he pushes them away, and instead chooses to bear his cross.
I agree you cam see it all over these guys. I love to see people so passionate. Thats a rule for the dramas that I do with my youth.. a challenge goes out to live as passionately as they are acting onstage!!

This was an amazing drama performance. But can someone please explain to me a few things? Im a bit confused. 1. Who and what do all the people who come on after Jesus' crucifixion represent? 2. Where did the abortion clinic come in? Did any of the characters have anything to do with it and I just missed it? and 3. Who is the man at the end surrounded by people who gets the cross put on him represent? And what are all the people around him doing?
Abraham loved God more than anything, so He was willing to give up anything for God.
The dude has a girlfriend, He wants to keep following God but he is too distracted by his girlfriend, so he lays her down (not in a literal sense) but is willing to give up a relationship that is distracting him from the Lord.
i used to be in this type of thing, and a leader of a group. I get sad, cuz most, if not all the kids are back in the world after i left. Because all we did was entertain them. I never told them about sin, and the penaltly if they didn't repent (turn away) of there sin, eternity in hell. And trust Christ alone to save them. I hope these kids are being taught that. If, not please don't make the same mistake i did. We had the largest group in our district. 25 kids.

When all the kids began flinging stones, it was like how David killed Goliath. And when the other guy picked up the cross, it was like how we should pick up our cross everyday and live for jesus.

Those that follow Jesus are considered (according to the Bible) dhildren of promise just as Abrahams son was a promise to Abraham from God and also children of faith, as Abraham had to have total trust and faith that God was good despite the circumstances and God being the good God that he is did not have Abraham to sacrifice his son.

God did stop Abraham before he killed his son, however realistically this story teaches one to have complete faith in what he perceives as God's will. There are numerous stories of people murdering and claiming that God told them to do so, how can a person say that was not God's will when they are not the objective first person listener to begin with?

How is it moral to listen to what one believes as God's voice to kill their own son, how does one distinguish God's voice from the Devil's? If I heard voices in my head that told me to kill my son, I would have mistaken them as the Devil's, however this story of Abraham would persuade me to do otherwise and faithfully listen to whatever immoral voice inside my head, because it demonstrates that God can request one to do such an immoral act.

God never again in the Bible asks anyone to sacrifice a child for him. God calls Abraham his friend so God already knew that abraham knew his voice. Sacrificing children to pagen gods was not uncommon in those days so I think one thing God is doing is distinguishing the difference between himself and their pagen gods that he did not want this practice done and he talks about how he hates child sacrifice several times in the old testament.

When the guy is puting the girl on the alter he is symbolizing that she will not be his idol and god will be put fist in his life. When all of the "students" are surrouding that 1 man, that was the peer pressure in his school. He then accepts the cross (Jesus Christ) and then persue it. 95girl08 this is how i interpreted the video. The first part of the re-inactment was the story of Abraham when god asked him to kill his son as a sacrifise to him. The second part of the re-inactment is the story david when saul was trying to kill him. He ended up still being the king like God said he would. The 3rd part is of Jesus going to the cross and paying for all of man's sins. The next part I think is when the deciples of Jesus go to the church and get filled with the Holy Spirt.

great acting, a little confusing as a script though, too much movement hard to tell whats going on, could be due to the filming angles and stuff, perhaps sitting in one spot in the audience would've been different...also, its wicked hard to take an actor seriously when he's lip syncing to a girls voice....at least for me...I know you weren't looking for my opinion, but that;s what these things are all about lol

ppl are praying to end abortion and they "do" and it gets knocked down...then a guy is getting confused between all this different theology and books and all he really wants is God..then he has to take up his own "cross" to get thru it..then jsut more worship....hope that helps :) God bless ya'll!

some one told me that it was supposed to be representing a silent protest. you know when people stand outside abortion clinics and put red tape over their mouths and write life on the tape? i think it's because abortion is murder and God tells ud not to murder. i've probably watched this a dozen times, and didn't really get it either, but this time i did! the first part shows three characters in the Bible running their races. the one with the blue sash is Abraham, sacrificing to God the son that he loved. the second, with the gold sash, is David, who beats Goliath and overcomes great odds to become king.

the third person is Jesus. enough said. in the second part of the skit, it shows modern day people struggling to stay on the path set before them by God. the first guy loves his girlfriend, but must be willing to sacrifice the relationship to pursue God. this is paralleled to Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac.

the second group is standing against the giant of abortion. against great odds, they topple it (this has yet to happen, but i have no doubt that God's will is that is does), just as David overcame great things to become king. the third example shows someone being pressured by the world to do what they think is right. but he pushes them away, and instead chooses to bear his cross.

I just got back from the student confrence @ war hill church and it was turely a life changing event i had never heard of karen wheaton before until the confrence cause her and her team were there. they were amazing i saw this drama yesterday so rite when i got my computer i went derectly to this video because it is so moving!!! This was an amazing drama performance. But can someone please explain to me a few things? Im a bit confused. 1. Who and what do all the people who come on after Jesus' crucifixion represent? 2. Where did the abortion clinic come in? Did any of the characters have anything to do with it and I just missed it? and 3. Who is the man at the end surrounded by people who gets the cross put on him represent? And what are all the people around him doing?

The dude has a girlfriend, He wants to keep following God but he is too distracted by his girlfriend, so he lays her down (not in a literal sense) but is willing to give up a relationship that is distracting him from the Lord.

i used to be in this type of thing, and a leader of a group. I get sad, cuz most, if not all the kids are back in the world after i left. Because all we did was entertain them. I never told them about sin, and the penaltly if they didn't repent (turn away) of there sin, eternity in hell. And trust Christ alone to save them. I hope these kids are being taught that. If, not please don't make the same mistake i did. We had the largest group in our district. 25 kids.
