I like how you can tell if a number is evenly divisible by 5 just by looking at it. If a number ends with 5 or 0, it's a multiple of 5. If it ends with 0, then it would be a product of an even number times 5, if it ends with 5, then it's the product of an odd number times 5. Five, cinco, cinq, cinque, wu, and don't stop, just GO!!!
Wow!! I thought I would never see this again...soooo long ago I saw this when I was 4..now I'm 33..thanks for the memories..I'm still a kid at heart..
JimmyMVideoJukebox: FYI - looks like this was recorded January 6, 1978. Enter "Sesame Street - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"...it's Judy Collins singing to some kids on a beach. At the very, very end, it shows the director slate for "Gimme Five".
OMG! YESSSSS!!! I'm so happy this is posted! Thought that I'd never see this again!!! I saw it one times YEARS ago, and fell in love with it!!! I always hoped I'd see it again!!! Thanks!!!!
@tyrese3745 "Hello, I'm Luis. I've liked the number five ever since I was very young. Do you know that three and two make five, and that four and one make five, too? Ah, the number five, how sweet!"
@JimmyMVideoJukebox I beg to differ! Float On was a stone groove man and it was happening! But this here man definitely got me to learning my numbers, ya dig? Don't be going round dissin the Floaters, man!
@quirpco I was thinking the same thing about The Floaters too, lol. It was one of my favorites too. I remember it from when I was about 2 or 3 years old, 20+ years ago. Sesame street sucks now.
I love this it brought back memories of watching this with my kids. I dont know if anyone remembers "There's a hole in the bucket, Dear Liza, Dear Liza." I can still sing it with my adult kids. LOL
Especially Bob's falsetto in this song at 1:32 or whatever. Listen, and you'll know. I actually got the falsetto not only from Barry Gibb, but also Bob. FIVE!!! is a great number.
It's a testament to how great this show was that I only saw this bit ONE time when I was a kid, but I remembered the song's chorus for 20+ years until I saw it again just now.
This has to be my favorite clip from Sesame Street. I just love how they dance and sing together....you just know they're having fun! It's totally awesome.
A bona five... I mean fide classic indeed! :)

25 years later and I still find myself humming this song. They were surprisingly good singers and those harmonies are brilliant.

Is it just me or is herbert the pervert of family a background singer

The best part about the song was Luis singing in Spanish. You couldn't understand what he was saying, but it was so cool nonetheless.

@josymon yeah, he's pretty sexy in this song, but I hear he makes his girlfriends dress up in a five costume...

I wonder if this was inspired by the song "Float On" by The Floaters?
