It amuses me how people love this game. I worked on 5 of Final Fantasy. 4 Console and 1 handheld. The thing that shocks me is how many dedicated fans(In japans some in US) and not just buyers there are.

Yes, I was a AI programer. I pretty much worked on battle encounters. For example what type/kind of attack the enemies uses based on previous data (Level, Health, Magic power and so on). No I'm not Japanese; I know how to speak the language though...

Ehh I think 10 was good and all, but I think the addition of voicing and the realism of the graphics gave it an edge, without which I the story would have, I think, fallen behind 8 and 7.

I've played most of them, the first ones are kind of boring, running around getting crystals. Haven't played VI, I need to do that... but 7 is the best. Story, feeling, characters... totally rule. X and VIII are also very awesome, but 7 will be my favorite. XII sucked, it was too convoluted, and IX bores me...

2.Final Fantasy 10 for Story, numerous side quests, the romance, gameplay, and visual graphix

3.Final Fantasy 10 - 2 same thing as 10

m8, all ffs are great, but by far 7 has the greatest and most complex story line wich more would enjoy. 8 was a simple story which can be comparable to other rpg games, but by far the best is ff7. i personly like xenogears, thought it was the best rpg ever.

In my opinion

Final Fantasy X and XII were the greatest, the story was good, and the bosses were great 2 fight. in FFx the boss i liked 2 kill was seymoure, and in FFXII i liked 2 kill vayne/gabranth/cid. And FFX had a very great, story.

i guess i don't understand why most gamers prefer ten's story... it didn't break much bounds, in my opinion... held on too well to the traditional japanese rpg cliches... still one of the best stories i heard though...

there's no way you can say 'no argument please' to 'I hate cloud'. You probably only like 12 because of graphics or whatever (I don't play them anymore). FF7 easily had the best story, I can't see how you hate Cloud. Square even tried to make a female version of Cloud in 10 or 11.
